Agnes Pearl Loveless Harris, 84, retired employee of Dupont Chemical Company and resident of Columbia died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at 12:30 p.m. at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home with Paul Rogers and Johnny Mack Young officiating. Burial was in Wade Peler Cemetery in Centerville. Pallbearers were family and friends. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com.

The Coble native was the daughter of the late Walter Loveless and Lola Ammons Loveless. She was married to James C. Harris, who preceded her in death Jan. 3, 1963. She was a member of Highland Church of Christ.
Two sisters, Mary Catherine and Dorothy, preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Sheila (Howard) Dishmon of Ashland City; one son, Walter Wayne Harris of Decatur, Ala.; two sisters, Vera Harrison of Knoxville, Era (Elmo) Chessor of Nashville; one brother, Joe (Joyce) Loveless of Memphis; two grandsons, Kip J. (Tiby) Ferguson of Lawrenceburg, Ricky (Shirley) Meadows of Nashville; and three great-grandsons, Jackson Cope Ferguson of Lawrenceburg, Logan Meadows and Landon Meadows, both of Nashville.
Oakes and Nichols Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
Garth Milton "Joe" Newland
Garth Milton "Joe" Newland, 76, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, at his home in Ashland City.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003 at 10 a.m. at Boyd Funeral Home. Bro. Terry Boyd officiated. Burial was in the Felts Cemetery in Ashland City. Family members served as pallbearers.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert Newland; his mother Ethel Reeves Newland; his brother Delmous Newland and his sister, Bertha Chandler.
He is survived by brothers, James (Betty) Newland of Ashland City, Lillard "Tex" (Elizabeth) Newland, Ashland City, Bruce (Nancy) Newland of Ashland City, John (Marlene) Newland of Mt. Juliet, Herman (Sharon) Newland of Lone Jack, Mo.; sisters, Mable Binkley of Pleasant View, Ellie Spears of Ashland City, Maxine Scalf of Nashville, Uldean Blanton of Raytown, Mo., Deliah Lithacum of Pleasant View, Mary Dozier of Ashland City.

Charles Arthur Watson, 68, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at his home in Ashland City.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at 7 p.m. at Boyd Funeral Home. Bro. Terry Boyd officiated. Burial was in the National Cemetery in Nashville.
He is survived by son, Daryl Watson of Pavo, Ga.; daughters, Cheryl Russell of Chapmansboro, Terry Watson of Ashland City; brother, Mac Watson of Bethlehem, N.C.; sisters, Colleen Barnes of Dudley Shoals, N.C. and Lorraine Southard of Sayler, Calif.

Rex Arian Bracy Sr.
Rex Arian Bracy, Sr. of Plum Nelly Farm was received into heaven on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara and his faithful dog, Carlie; also Rex Arian, Jr., son and daughter-in-law, Madge; Dana Lynn, daughter; Elizabeth and Sarah, granddaughters; Sammye Boehms, sister; Lance, Mark and George Bracy, brothers and a host of wonderful friends.
Visitation with the family was Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Anderson and Garrett, Joelton. The funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at Oakwood United Methodist Church with Rev. Alexander W. Delk and Rev. Alex Lehnis officiating. Mr. Bracy will lie in State at the church Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Pallbearers: Jimmy Stuart, Nelson Boehms, Eric Bracy, John Richard Short, Calvin Short, Gene Carney, Same Bracy, Bruce Bracy.

Sam Raymond Groves
Sam Raymond Groves, 78, passed away on Friday, Jan. 17, 2003. Mr. Groves was retired from C.E.M.C. of Ashland City. He was born in Dickson County.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Jan. 20 at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home, Ashland City, with Rev. O. Jewell Barrett and Rev. Steve Blackwell officiating. Burial followed in Cheatham Memorial Gardens in Pleasant View. Pallbearers were Troy Mason, Tim Dockstader, Wayne Reeves, Robert Foster, Bobby Gibbs, Herman Creel. Honorary Pallbearers were: past and present employees of C.E.M.C., Buddy Frazier, Dr. James Baldwin, Dohn Dockstader, Anthony Frazier, and Nathan Lane and Anthony Farmer.
Visitation with family was Saturday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Monday 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Flora Mae Groves; a daughter, Brenda (Michael) Mason, all of Joelton; son, Terry Stewart of Ashland City; sisters, Flora Gray, Nashville, Docia (Charlie) Barre of Ashland City; two grandchildren, Troy (Heather) Mason, Nicole (Jim) Crowder and one great-grandchild, Karah Mason.

Grady Lee Faught
Grady Lee Faught, 63, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at the Hillcrest Health Care Center, in Ashland City.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at 9:30 a.m. at the Cheatham County Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Lackey officiating. Burial followed in the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Nashville. Family and friends served as pallbearers. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by wife, Betty Lou Batts Faught; a son, Charlie Faught, daughters, Donna, Doris, Dee Dee; brothers, James Faught of Lawrenceburg, Claude Faught of Loretto; sister, Mrytle Hogan of Loretta; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild.
