Billy Wayne Nicholson
Billy Wayne Nicholson, 61, died Jan. 27, 2003, at his home. He was born April 24, 1941, the son of the late Bob Taylor and Willie Mai Nicholson. He was a farmer and a member of Good Springs Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at 1 p.m. at Good Springs Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Riggs and Rev. John Gibbs officiating. Burial will follow in Good Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Don Moore, Robert Nicholson, Freddie Burcham, George Hardy, Allan Nicholson, Shannon Pendergraft, Jimmy Harris and Claude "Butch" Taylor. The family received guests Tuesday from 1-8 p.m. at Austin and Bell Funeral Home in Springfield and will receive guests on Wednesday, from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
He was preceded in death by son, Barry Wayne Nicholson; brothers, Jerry Ray Nicholson and James Albert Nicholson; sisters, Sally Pearl Hardy and Shirley Ann Perry.
He is survived by wife, Janice Rachel Nicholson; daughter, Tammy Jo Garza and husband Freddie Garza of Pleasant View; son, Timothy Wayne Nicholson and wife Beverly of Coopertown community; grandson, Zachariah Garza of Pleasant View; sisters, Alma Moore of Springfield, Alice Lawson of Pleasant View, Maydene Pendergraft of Nashville; brothers, Robert Nicholson, Jr., W.H. Nicholson, J.W. Nicholson, and Paul Nicholson, all of Pleasant View and many nieces and nephews.

Alton Kenneth Tobitt Sr.
Alton Kenneth Tobitt, Sr., 74, Pleasant View, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at NorthCrest Medical Center, Springfield. He was born Feb. 1, 1928, in Davidson County, the son of Stanley Eugene and Vinnie Campbell Tobitt. He was retired from Genesco.
Services were conducted Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, with Bro. Steven Curtis officiating. Family and friends served as pallbearers. Burial was at Cheatham Memorial Gardens, Pleasant View.
He is survived by wife, Marie "Dee Dee" Brooks Tobitt, Pleasant View; daughter and son-in-law, Juanita and Jeff Clark, Ashland City; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.
Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home, Joelton, was in charge of arrangements.
E. Ray Walker
E. Ray Walker, 82, died Jan. 27, 2003, at the NorthCrest Medical Center. He was born in Robertson County on Jan. 26, 1920.
Services were conducted Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at 11 a.m. in the Austin and Bell Funeral Home of Springfield with Bro. Larry B. Pinson officiating. Interment followed in the Wilson Cemetery in Pleasant View. Pallbearers were Gilford D. Walker, Kenneth D. Walker, Roy L. Walker, Keith Walker, Terry C. Walker, Bruce Walker, Bud Milliken and Jerry Carney. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Marion and Mattie Elizabeth Gower Walker; a brother, Dalton Walker; and a sister, Sue Walker.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Walker of Pleasant View; sons, Eddie Ray (Joyce) Walker of Pleasant View; John W. (Patty) Walker of Springfield; brothers, John Miller Walker of Cheatham County, Marvin G. Walker of Coopertown; four grandchildren, John Walker of Benton, Ky., Michael Walker of Springfield, Eric Walker of Fayetteville, Ark., Heather Walker Gupton of Pleasant View.

Mildred Sue Williamson
Mildred Sue Williamson, 84, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at the Hillcrest Care Center, Ashland City. She was a retired State employee working for the Department of Revenue, Motor Division.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at 10 a.m. from the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Bro. Clite Goodpasture and Bro. Mike Fox officiating. Burial was in the Harpeth Hills Cemetery. Family and friends served as pallbearers. Visitation with the family was held on Thursday and Friday evening at the funeral home.
She is survived by a daughter, Dorenda (Paul) Mahaney of Ashland City; grandchildren: Paul (Janelle) Mahaney, David (Shannon) Mahaney, Cynthia (Henry) Odom, all of Ashland City; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Ryan, Kalie and Lilly Mae Mahaney.

Leslie William Dale
Leslie William (Billy) Dale, 57, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at his home. He was a member of Alta Loma Baptist Church and a car salesman for Moulton Motors. Billy Dale was a former resident of Pleasant View for many years.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home in Ashland City, with Brother John Knott officiating. Burial followed in the Pleasant View United Methodist Church Cemetery in Pleasant View. Friends and family served as pallbearers.
He is survived by his mother, Cecil Marie Dale and a son, Michael Dale, both of Madison.
Cheatham County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
James Givens
James (Slim) Givens, 74, died Feb. 1, 2003, at his home. He was a retired employee of State Industries, now known as A.O.Smith, and repaired small engines on the side. He was known as "Slim:" and he will be missed.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of the Cheatham County Funeral Home with Bro. Pete Furnier officiating. Burial was in the Felts Cemetery, Ashland City. Serving as pallbearers were James Hamblin, Charles Hamblin, David Hamblin, Mike Fisher, Robbie Clayton and Steven Hendrix.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Flora Givens.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Givens, stepsons: Jerry Pressley, Danny Gene Pressley, Tony Wayne Pressley, stepdaughter, Donna Marie Hiney Mason, all of Ashland City; 13 step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
