Gertrude Elvia Higuera
Trudy Higuera, 87, passed away Nov. 23, 2004. She died at the home of her son Alex in Orinda, Calif. after a short illness.
Trudy was born November 25, 1916 to Ralph and Elvia Davis Crew in Stockton, Calif. She led an active life and was a beauty shop operator for over 35 years. She loved fishing with her son Todd and family. Trudy was an accomplished seamstress, ballroom dancer and terrific cook. Trudy lived in Fallon from 1964 to 1971. Friends and family will miss her for her gentle and loving nature.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her youngest son Todd.
She is survived by son Alex Kershaw of Orinda, Calif.; daughters Susan McClintock Phelps and husband David of Redwood Valley, Calif. and Nancy Elvia McClintock Bradley and husband Billy and granddaughter Jennifer Beebe of Fallon; grandchildren Kimberly Holzapfel, Heather Kershaw, Catina Haugen, Amy Binkley, Jason Bradley and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in Concord, Calif. at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Oasis Community Church, P.O. Box 5127, Fallon, NV 89407.
Dilmon Ray Nixon
Dilmon Ray Nixon passed away at his residence in Kingston, Nevada on Nov. 28, 2004. Ray had lived in Kingston for 11 years, moving there from Las Vegas.
Ray was born March 31, 1931 in Paden, Miss. to Oscar and Johnnie Nixon. He went through schools there and graduated from Paden High School. He joined the Air Force when he graduated, a career that lasted for more than 20 years. He served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Mark Nixon, two brothers and a sister.
Ray is survived by his wife Laurie Nixon of Kingston; son Dilmon "Nick" Nixon of Lamar, Colo.; daughter Regina Osburn of Tacoma, Wash.; stepchildren Christianna Grassi of Lake Villiage, Ark. and Daniel Peterson of North Judson, Ind.; brother John Nixon of Georgia and grandchildren Matthew, Rachael, Nicholas and Katlyn.
There will be no services at this time.

Timothy Wayne Ayers
Timothy Wayne Ayers, 55, died November 27, 2004 at Washoe Medical Center in Reno. He was born April 22, 1949 in Livermore, Calif. to Robert L. and Lida Pardick Ayers. At the time of his death, he was residing in Reno where he worked as a dealer in a casino.
Timothy attended school in Fallon and Reno, and graduated from high school in Witchita Falls, TX. He had also owned an antique shop in Los Angeles. He was an avid animal lover and enjoyed life to the fullest.
He is survived by his mother, Lida Ayers of Fallon; a sister, Sharon Griffin of Lawrenceburg, Indiana; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1997.
A graveside commital service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 pm at the Churchill Public Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Fallon. 423-2255.
Marshella Lorraine Wallace
Marshella Lorraine Wallace passed away on Dec. 6, 2004. Marshella was [born] on Nov. 7, 1947 to M.K. (Joe) Wallace and Geraldine A. (Gerry) Wallace. Marshella was born and raised in Fallon and attended local schools, Churchill County High School, and the University of Nevada at Reno. Marshella and Dennis Evans raised four sons in Fallon. Much of Marshella's joy in the past few years came from the renewed relationships with her sons.
Marshella owned and operated several small business ventures in the Fallon area. Marshella was active in Wallace Realty Corp. during the 1970s and early 1980s. She also worked in the family hardware store during that same period of time.
During the late 1980s, Marshella owned and operated the Corral Bar on Center Street and upon the sale of that business managed several bars and restaurants in the area. Most recently, Marshella owned and operated Readful Things, a bookstore on Taylor Street.
Marshella had a loving and giving heart. She will be greatly missed by all her family and will forever be in our thoughts.
Marshella was preceded in death by her parents M.K. (Joe) Wallace and Geraldine A. (Gerry) Wallace.
Her sons Shawn Evans, Gregory Evans, Jeremy Evans, Mathew Evans, and grandson Brian Evans survive her. Also survived by brother Milton Wallace and wife Michelle, sister Charmain Christie and husband Butch and several nieces and nephews.

Marshella Lorraine Wallace, 57, passed away on December 6, 2004 at Washoe Medical Center in Reno. She was born November 7, 1947 in Fallon to M.K. (Joe) and Geraldine A. (Gerry) Perry Wallace, and was a lifelong Fallon resident.
Marshella graduated from Churchill County High School in 1966 and had owned several small business ventures in the Fallon area.
She is survived by her sons, Shawn, Gregory and Jeremy Evans, all of Fallon; son, Matthew Evans of Madison, Tenn.; brother, Milton Wallace and wife Michelle, sister Charmaine Christie and husband Butch and grandson Brian Evans, all of Fallon; and several nieces & Nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, 505 Rio Vista Dr. in Fallon with private burial to follow in the Churchill Public Cemetery.

Albert Lee Polfus
Albert Lee Polfus, 66, died Dec. 7, 2004 at his residence in Wadsworth. He was born on July 7, 1938 in Watts, Calif. to Claude "Uncle Bud" and Lena Creps Polfus, and had lived in Wadsworth since 1993, coming from California.
He was a retired truck driver, having driven for over 35 years. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Santoro and by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Janice and son, Albert Jr., both of Wadsworth; son Tim of Ventura, Calif.; stepchildren, Mark Mitchell of Oregon; Coz Mitchell of Los Angeles and Deena Jernigan of North Carolina; grandsons, Nick and George Marr of North Carolina; and sister Claudette of Idaho.
Per his request, no services will be held. Cremation is under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Fallon, 423-2255.
