Margaret I. Savage
Private services were held for Margaret I. Savage, who died Nov. 13. She was 93.
Savage was born in Melvern, Kan., and had lived in Santa Cruz County for the past 20 years.
She is survived by daughter, Kathryn Harper; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Her husband Gerald Savage died before her.
Arrangements are by Norman’s Family Chapel.
Jeff Gilbert
Services are today for Jeff Gilbert, who died Thursday at Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro, Ore. He was 44.
Mr. Gilbert resided in Beaverton, Ore., and was a superintendent for Baugh Construction.
Mr. Gilbert was born in LaJolla and was raised in Exeter, Long Island, N.Y., and Capitola. He graduated in 1975 from Soquel High School.
While living in California he enjoyed commercial salmon fishing.
He is survived by wife, Dundee Gilbert of Beaverton; daughters, Nicole Gilbert and Brittany Gilbert, both of Beaverton; mother, Luann G. Gilbert of Capitola; brothers Greg Gilbert of Felton and Jeremy Gilbert of Watsonville; stepfather Jim Robertson of Las Vegas.
His father, Gerald Gilbert, and brother, Patrick Gilbert, died before him.
Services will be 3 p.m. today at Bronleewe-Bass Funeral Home Chapel, 1070 W. Main, Hillsboro, Ore. The family asks that memorials be made to a charity.
Enrique Iniguez-Rodriguez
Services will be Wednesday for Enrique Iniguez-Rodriguez, who died Sunday at his home in Santa Cruz. He was 54.
A native of Mexico, Mr. Iniguez-Rodriguez lived in Santa Cruz for 35 years. He worked at the Money Mushroom Soup plant in Pescadero for nearly 30 years. His family was the most important part of his life, they said.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Iniguez; daughters Erica Castillo and Raquel Iniguez; son Enrique Iniguez; brother Eugenio Iniguez; and one grandson.
Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Santa Cruz Memorial Park Mission Chapel. A graveside service will follow. Visitation for family and friends will be todayfrom 1 to 9 p.m. at Santa Cruz Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Francisco C. Umbania
Services are Thursday for Francisco C. Umbania, who died Friday at Watsonville Community Hospital after a brief illness. He was 80.
Mr. Umbania was born in the Philippines and had lived in Watsonville since 1980. He also lived in Hawaii.
He was a farm laborer for more than 60 years and worked for Dobler & Sons in Watsonville for 13 years before he retired.
Mr. Umbania was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, the Filipino Catholic Association and the Fil-Visayan Association.
He is survived by his wife, Elena Umbania; one nephew in Hayward; one cousin in San Jose and several relatives in the Philippines.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel, 222 E. Lake Ave., Watsonville.
A rosary and vigil service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mehl’s.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick’s Church, 721 Main St., Watsonville.
Burial will follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
Leila Mae Pederson
Services are Monday for Leila Mae Pederson, who died Friday in Santa Cruz. She was 86.
Mrs. Pederson lived in Santa Cruz for the past 40 years. She was born Leila Mae Crotser in Luddington, Mich., and moved to California at a young age. She moved to San Francisco during World War II and operated a small restaurant there, Leila’s.
Mrs. Pederson worked as a licensed vocational nurse until an injury forced her to retire. She loved to cook, family members say, and worked in several cooking and kitchen-related jobs.
She was a poet and harmonica player who often played on Pacific Avenue and annually in a band at the Mount Hermon Christian Conference Center campground.
She was a regular at Gilda’s Family Restaurant on the wharf and had many friends around town and in Felton, said her daughter, Anita Cook.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Pederson of Santa Cruz; daughters Anita Cook and Donna Henderson, both of Orange County and Elaine Hodges of Florida; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Her first husband, Max Gilmore, died in 1952.
Services are 8 p.m. Monday at Gilda’s Family Restaurant on the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf. Call 423-2010 for information.
Her grandson, the Rev. Allan Sherer will officiate.
