Alma G. Anderson
There will be no services for Alma G. Anderson, who died in her Santa Cruz home Sunday. She was 88.
Born in Addy, Wash., Mrs. Anderson was the only of six children to be born in the United States. Her family was from Norway. She lived in Santa Ana before moving to Santa Cruz in 1959. She and her husband, a naval officer, lived all over the world. She was involved in the Santa Cruz branch of Goodwill Industries, leading Goodwill’s local board of directors and its volunteer services. She founded the Santa Cruz store’s collectors corner. She enjoyed playing bridge, sewing and flower arranging.
She is survived by daughter Kay Flora of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by husband William Harvey Anderson in 1992.

Belinda Ventura
Services will be Monday for Belinda Ventura, who died Sunday at her home in Freedom. She was 50.
Born in Calexico, Mrs. Ventura lived in Freedom most of her life. She attended Watsonville High School, graduating in 1970, and worked at Watsonville Community Hospital. For many years, she also worked for the family video store, Ventura Video. She was the queen of the 1969 Fiestas Patrias celebration and was a member for most of her life of Holy Eucharist Catholic Community.
She is survived by parents Adalberto and Connie Ventura of Watsonville; daughter Crystal Fortes of Watsonville; brother Art Ventura of Watsonville and Danny Ventura of Watsonville; sister Dolores Valdivia of Salinas; and one grandchild.
Friends may call today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Davis Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St., Watsonville. A vigil service will be held 7 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Eucharist Catholic Community, 527 Corralitos Road, Corralitos, with burial at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park on Hecker Pass Road in Watsonville.
Arrangements are by Davis Memorial Chapel.
Karen E. Sandholdt
Services will be Tuesday for Karen E. Sandholdt, who died Tuesday in her Watsonville home. She was 57.
A native of Watsonville, Miss Sandholdt attended Moreland Notre Dame Grammar School and Mora Central High School before attending the College of Notre Dame Belmont, graduating in 1966. Miss Sandholdt taught Spanish at Watsonville High School in the late 1960s, as well as teaching at Moss Landing and Castroville elementary schools. She was active at Holy Eucharist Catholic Community, particularly in the music ministry. She was also an avid reader and skilled at needlepoint.
She is survived by brother Bill Sandholdt of Watsonville.
She is proceeded in death by father Wilbur Sandholdt in 1965 and mother Mary E. "Mazie" Sandholdt in 1985.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Monday at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel, 222 E. Lake Ave., Watsonville and a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at the chapel. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Eucharist Catholic Community, 527 Corralitos Road, Corralitos, followed by burial at Valley Cemetery. Arrangements are by Mehl’s Colonial Chapel.
Yolanda Marie King
Services will be Monday for Yolanda Marie King, who died Thursday in her Santa Cruz home. She was 62.
A native of San Jose, Mrs. King lived in Santa Cruz since 1973. Her family described her as a typical Italian mother, who loved to cook for the family. She loved to drive her car and to care for the dog Bella Mia.
She is survived by daughter Victoria Delia of Santa Cruz and son Gordon King of Santa Cruz.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Santa Cruz Memorial Park Chapel, 1927 Ocean St., Santa Cruz.
Frank R. Hayford
Services will be Monday for Frank Hayford, who died Wednesday in Santa Cruz. He was 86.
Born in Capitola, Mr. Hayford lived here all his life. He left the area briefly in the 1940s to serve the Navy during World War II. He was stationed in the South Pacific through most of his three years in the service and returned in 1947 to marry Velma Stanley. He was an original volunteer of the Capitola Fire Department and a charter member of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars group.
He is survived by brothers Lawrence Hayford of Santa Cruz, Lyle Hayford of Capitola, Julian Hayford of Soquel, Malcolm Hayford of Capitola and Hugh Hayford of Santa Cruz.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma, and his sister, Lorraine Williamson.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St., Santa Cruz. Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at Oakwood Memorial Park on Paul Sweet Road, Santa Cruz.
