JAMES ALDI JR., 72, of Hawthorne died Monday. He was a volunteer fireman in Hawthorne for 40 years, and served as fire chief for 16 years. He also served as Passaic County fire coordinator, and on the New Jersey Fire Advisory Commission. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of Riverside Vets, and a recipient of two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony R.C. Church, Hawthorne, and a member of its Holy Name Society. He was a member of the New Jersey Fire Chiefs Association, the Eastern Division of the International Fire Chiefs Association, the New Jersey Exempt Firemen's Association, the Passaic County Relief Association, and the Hawthorne Chamber of Commerce. GARY DeJONGH, 70, of Hawthorne died Tuesday. He was born in the Netherlands and came to the United States in 1950. He had been a runner for Hawthorne Chevrolet. Previously, he was a maintenance man for the Hawthorne Board of Education and Wayne General Hospital. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Salaam Temple, Livingston. She was a member of the Republican Clubs of Totowa and Passaic County, and was an officer of the American Legion auxiliary, Midland Park. She was a parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa.
