BURTON ASZKENAS, 72, of Fair Lawn died Sunday. He was a watch maker and horologist. Arrangements: Robert Schoem's Menorah Chapel, Paramus.

ROBERT L. BECOTE of Paterson died Saturday. He was a maintenance worker at Holy Name Hospital, Teaneck, where he was employed for 30 years. Arrangements: Bragg Funeral Home, Paterson.

SUSAN SEREDAY CASAGRAND, 85, of Machipongo, Va., formerly of Clifton, died Sunday. Arrangements: Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, Lexington Avenue, Clifton.

ANGELICA COTRINA, 92, of Paterson died Monday. She was born in Peru. Arrangements: Festa Memorial Funeral Home, Totowa.

FRANK R. DE ROSE, 83, of Paterson died Sunday. Before retiring in 1980, he was a comptroller for V.T.M. Finishing Co., Paterson, where he worked for 30 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Totowa Memorial Church. He was a past master of Masons Lodge 45, Paterson, and a member of Masons Lodge 203, Clifton. Arrangements: Patrick J. Conte Funeral Home, Elmwood Park.

MARY E. CARROLL DOWLING, 89, of Edgewater died Monday. Before retiring, she was a clerical worker for Prentice Hall, Englewood Cliffs. She was a parishioner of Holy Rosary R.C. Church, Edgewater, and a member of the Edgewater Seniors and Pleasant Valley Club. Arrangements: Frank A. Patti & Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home, Fort Lee.

LILIA ZERQUERA GALI, 85, of Fairview died Monday. She was born in Cuba. Arrangements: Vainieri Funeral Home, North Bergen.

JOSEPH T. HALENAR, 56, of Dumont died Saturday. He was a parishioner of St. Mary R.C. Church, Dumont, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Arrangements: Mayo Funeral Home, Berwick, Pa.

JEAN M. BISCEGLIE HOFMEISTER, 71, of Ridgefield Park, formerly of Union City, died Monday. Before retiring in 1999, she was a clerk for the Ridgefield Park Health Department, where she worked for 15 years. She was a parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church and a member of the recreation board, both in Ridgefield Park. She was a member of the Clifton Quilters. Arrangements: Vorhees Funeral Home, Ridgefield Park.

HAZEL TORNQUIST JONES, 76, of Chestnut Ridge, N.Y., formerly of East Rutherford, died Tuesday. She was a member of Dawn Bible Chapel, East Rutherford. Arrangements: Collins-Calhoun Funeral Home, Rutherford.

HENRY C. KEIM SR., 76, of Little Ferry died Sunday. Before retiring in 1986, he was a storekeeper for General Foods Co.'s Maxwell House Division, Hoboken, where he worked for 41 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a parishioner of St. Margaret of Cortona R.C. Church, Little Ferry. Arrangements: Trinka-Faustini Funeral Service, Little Ferry.

JOSEPH KIST, 75, of Toms River, formerly of Lyndhurst, died Monday. Before retiring in 1980, he was a supervisor for U.S. Printing Inc. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Arrangements: Nazare Memorial Home, Lyndhurst.

JOHN KUBASTA, 84, of Garfield died Tuesday. Before retiring 15 years ago, he owned Champ's Place in Garfield. He was a World War II veteran, recipient of the Purple Heart, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2867. He also was a member of Passaic Old Timer Baseball. Arrangements: Wozniak Home for Funerals, Wallington.

CROCE LaMATTINA, 85, of Clifton died Monday. Before retiring, he was a truant officer for the Paterson Board of Education. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Arrangements: Minchin Funeral Home, Paterson.

ANNA M. LITTLE, 98, of Jersey City died Sunday. Before retiring in 1977, she was a seamstress for Osbern Sportswear, Jersey City. Arrangements: Mack Memorial Home, Secaucus.

THOMAS D. MACKEY JR. of Fort Worth, Texas, formerly of Englewood, died Saturday. Before retiring in 1967, he served in the Marine Corps for 28 years. He was a World War II veteran and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Fourth Marine Division Association, the Fleet Reserve Association, and Hackensack Elks Lodge 658. Arrangements: Mount Olivet Funeral Home, Fort Worth.

JOSEPH P. McDONOUGH, 83, of Paramus died Tuesday. Before retiring, he was a principal for the Paramus Board of Education. He was a graduate of the University of Iowa, and received a master's degree from Columbia University. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Paramus. He was team manager for the Little League. Arrangements: Vander Plaat Memorial Home, Paramus.

ROBERT W. McMANEMIN, 49, of Fort Lee, formerly of Ho-Ho-Kus, died Tuesday. He owned Clear Image Glass, Fort Lee. He was a parishioner of St. Nicholas R.C. Church, Palisades Park. He was co-president of the Recreation Girls Basketball League, coach for the Girls Soccer League, and a girls softball coach, all in Fort Lee. Arrangements: Frank A. Patti & Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home, Fort Lee.

RICHARD T. MELILLO, 71, of Ridgefield died Tuesday. Before retiring, he was an electronic technician for the Army Reserve, Edison, where he worked for 25 years. He was an Air Force veteran. Arrangements: Blackley Funeral Home, Ridgefield.

XAVIER MOET GILLISON MORGAN, 3 months, of Paterson died June 30. He was the son of Sophia Morgan and Anthony Weaver, and the adopted son of Brenda Gillison and Jonathan Sisco Sr. Arrangements: Bragg Funeral Home, Paterson.

CLARA BELLE BLAKE OLIVER, 83, of Paterson died Saturday. She had been a crossing guard for the Paterson Police Department and an assistant at the Paterson Library. She was a member of Gilmore Memorial Tabernacle, Paterson, and its Mother's Board and Hospitality Committee. Arrangements: Bragg Funeral Home, Paterson.

ELENA T. O'SHEA, 36, of Hasbrouck Heights, formerly of Cliffside Park and New Milford, died Tuesday. She was a parishioner of Corpus Christi R.C. Church, Hasbrouck Heights. Arrangements: Costa Memorial Home, Hasbrouck Heights.

LYDIA MARTINI PIANA, 86, of Irving, Texas, formerly of Cresskill and Dumont, died Monday. Arrangements: Frech Funeral Home, Dumont.

JOHANNA EHRLER PLASKON of Garfield died Monday. She was born in France and immigrated to the United States with her family in 1929. Arrangements: Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, Clifton.

HELEN BERNAS RUPPERT, 68, of Clifton died Tuesday. Before retiring in 1999, she was an assembler for Bendix-Allied Signal Co., Teterboro. She was a parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle R.C. Church, Clifton, and was a member of the Honeywell Retirees. Arrangements: Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, Van Houten Avenue, Clifton.

HELEN COOK RYAN, 95, of Pompton Plains died Monday. Arrangements: M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains.

DAVID C. SAVARESE, 40, of South Hackensack died Monday. He worked as a cook for Hackensack University Medical Center. He was a parishioner of St. Mary R.C. Church, Hackensack. Arrangements. J. Rocciola Funeral Home, Hackensack.

LEONA R. VAN HINE SCHABEL, 93, of Baltimore, formerly of Passaic, died Tuesday. She was a payroll manager for Raybestos-Manhattan, Passaic, for 35 years. She was a former member of Athenia Reformed Church, Clifton. She was a former member of the Clifton chapter of the Deborah Hospital Foundation. Arrangements: Powell-Marrocco Funeral Home, Clifton.

GERDA GASSMANN SCHOEPE, 73, of Bergenfield died Saturday. Born in Germany, she came to the United States in 1954. Before retiring in 1991, she was a cafeteria worker for Medical Economics, Montvale, where she worked for 16 years. She was a member of the Tenafly Seniors. Arrangements: Nazare Memorial Home, Lyndhurst.

STANLEY J. SMYKAL, 81, of Ridgefield Park died Tuesday. Before retiring in 1981, he was an offset pressman for De Troy-Bergen, Fair Lawn, where he worked for 10 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church, Ridgefield Park. Arrangements: Vorhees Funeral Home, Ridgefield Park.
