Betty “Betsy” White, 58, of Murfreesboro, died Sunday, March 20, 2005, at her home. She was born June 17, 1946, at Dixon, Illinois, the daughter of the late Truman and Katherine Hertzner Onley.
She was a Methodist, and manager at EZ Mart. She has been a resident of Murfreesboro for over 40 years.
Mrs. White was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Jerry Onley.
Survivors include her husband Forest “Shorty” White of Murfreesboro, AR; two sons Carl and wife D’Ann Rogers of Nashville, AR, and Timmy and wife Chaughn Rogers of Murfreesboro, AR; two brothers Gene Onley of Rockford, IL and Jim Onley of Rockford, IL; five grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 22, at Latimer Funeral Home, Murfreesboro, with Rev. Troy Carroll officiating, burial in Valley Grove Cemetery, Kirby, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Murfreesboro.
Al Bennett

Alsie (Al) Wayne Bennett, 72, of Nashville, died Thursday, September 8, 2005 at a Nashville hospital. He was born December 11, 1932, at Dierks, AR, the son of the late Rubert C.and Minnie Cox Bennett.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Nashville. He was an Army Veteran.
Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by one son, Carl Wayne Bennett; one brother and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Gladine Bennett of Nashville, AR; one son, Dale Bennett of Nashville, AR; three step-sons, Steve Jackson of Little Rock, AR, Will Jackson of Nashville, AR and Kenny Jackson of Nashville, AR; two daughters, Patricia Bennett of Murfreesboro, AR and Linda Brake of Nashville, AR; one step-daughter, Georgia Jackson of Port Washington, WI; one brother, David Bennett of Sulfur Springs, TX; one sister, Wanda Gee of Red Oak, TX; seventeen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces and a host of friends.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 10, at Latimer Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. David Blasé officiating, burial in Unity Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.

Violet Smith

Violet O. Smith, 82, of Nashville, died Monday, September 6, 2005, at a Texarkana hospital. She was born August 31, 1923, at Highland, AR, the daughter of the late Johnny and Ethel Maude Chism Cooley.
She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Immanuel Women’s Missionary Auxiliary and the Gleaners Sunday School Class, THEOS, and Hillcrest E.H. Club.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Smith; two brothers, Doris Cooley and Winfred Cooley and one sister, Evelyn Cooley.
She is survived by one brother, Wayne Cooley of Texarkana, AR; one sister, Mary Frances Hooker of Texarkana; a number of nephews, nieces, great- nephews and great-nieces and a host of friends, a special friends, Leslie McCrary and Mable Sanders.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Thursday, September 8, Immanuel Baptist Church, with Bro. Glen Green officiating, burial in Ozan Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.

Margaret Lamb, 87, of Nashville, died Thursday, August 25, 2005, in a Texarkana hospital. She was born Augut 19, 1918, at Doyle, AR, the daughter of the late John and Ethel Brandon Furnatter.
She was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Lamb and a sister, Helen Walston.
Mrs. Lamb is survived by two sons, Rick Lamb and Darlene Nichols of Nashville, AR and William Lamb and wife, Vickie, of Ogden, Utah; one daughter, Betty Piguet of Tulsa, OK; one sister, Johnnie Chamber of Texarkana, AR; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; a number of nephews and nieces and a host of friends.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 30, at Antioch Cemetery, with Bro. Jimmy Dale officiating; under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.

Jerry Alan Deer, Sr., 32, of Nashville, died Wednesday, August 24, 2005. He was born January 22, 1973, at DeQueen, AR, the son of Karla Jones Howard and the late Earl Wayne Deer.
He was a member of the Old Time Gospel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, Otto and Mildred Deer and Connie Jones.
Mr. Deer is survived by his wife, Rhonda Sue Deer of Waldron, AR; one son, Jerry Alan Deer, Jr. of Waldron, AR; one daughter, Kimberly Ann Truitt of Waldron, AR; his mother Karla Jones Howard of Nashville, AR; one brother, Jeffrey Wayne Deer of Dierks, AR; several aunts and uncles and a number of cousins and a host of friends.

Willie F. “Bill” Ledbetter, 58, passed away August 23, 2005, at his home. He was born June 3, 1947 to Lloyd and Melba Faye Turner Ledbetter at Nashville, AR.
He was a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church of Murfreesboro, AR
Mr. Ledbetter was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Faye Ledbetter.

Ray Sain

Ray Young Sain, 102, formerly of Nashville, Arkansas, died Tuesday, August 23, 2005, at a St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith. She was born July 31, 1902, in Huntington, Arkansas to Robert A. and Mary Tarkington Young. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jett Sain, her sisters, Helen Cunningham and Heba Durden, and borther, Horace Young.
She was a resident of Nashville for over 50 years and was active in First Baptist Church in both women’s ministry and church activities. She and her husband owned and operated Builder’s Supply Company of Nashville. She was also an active golfer and the Nashville Country Club honored her by naming an annual tournament the Ray Sain Golf Tournament.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, Billye Young Smreker, Janelle Young Hembree, Robert A Young, III, all of Fort Smith and Charles Young of Hot Springs; 18 great nieces and nephews; 31 great-great nieces and nephews; 10 great-great-great and nephews, and 3 great-great-great-great nieces and nephews.
Service will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday at First Baptist Church with Dr. David Blasé officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery in Nashville, by Latimer Funeral Home.
Visitation will also be on Thursday at First Baptist Church from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 noon. Pallbearers will be Greg Tate, Granville Parnell, Freddy Harper, Jackie Bennett, James Massey, Norm Ladenburg, Connie Mac Milum, and George Steel all of Nashville. Honorary pallbearers are Jack Bennett and Jettie Steel.

Mattye Toleson Crawford

Mattye Lou (Toleson) Crawford, age 89, of Norman, Oklahoma, formerly of Saratoga, Arkansas, died August 19, 2005. She was born March 28, 1916 in Saratoga, the daughter of the late Wilburn and Maudie Bulington Toleson. She was married to Paul “Lefty” Crawford January 18, 1941. Mattye worked at the Okay General Store, later as Postmaster of Okay and Columbus Post Offices. She moved to Saratoga following Lefty’s retirement, and lived there until 1998 when she and Lefty moved to live near their son in Norman, Oklahoma. She was a faithful and long term member of the Saratoga Church of Christ. After moving to Norman, she and Lefty worshipped at the Westside church of Christ in Norman as long as their health permitted.She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul “Lefty” Crawford; one brother Claude, who was killed in the Philippines in WWII, and half-brother, Henry Toleson.Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law Paul Allen and Rose of Norman, Oklahoma; three grandsons, Chris and wife Jennifer of Fort Worth, Tx; Paul and wife Alissa of Edmond, Ok; Jeff and wife Jennifer of Edmond, Oklahoma; eight great-grandchildren, Chad, Matt, Danny, Joel, Paul, Maddie, Abby, and Nathan; one sister, Clara Mae McMullan of Hope, AR; three sisters-in-Law, Ava Myrtle Matthews of Ashdown, Betty Strahan of New Orleans, LA, and Betty Ruth Crawford of Ashdown; one nephew David McMullan of Fort Morgan Colorado, and niece, Peggy Tetirick of Ashdown. Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 23, 2005, in Saratoga Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M. Monday at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.

Frank Pickett, 54, of Nashville, died Wednesday, August 17, 2005, in Laramie, WY. He was born October 14, 1950, at De Queen, AR, the son of the late Claude and Fannie Russell Pickett.
He was a truck driver for SRT. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Pickett was preceded in death by one sister, Sue Sherck.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Pickett of Nashville, AR; one son, Chris Pickett of Oberlin, OH; one sister, Sheila Mendez of Wake Village, TX; two grandchildren; one aunt, Mary Jane Pickett of Lockesburg, AR; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Isom Edwin Roberts and one sister, Edna Mae Markham.
He is survived by his mother, Minnie Roberts of Nashville, AR; one brother, Harold C. Roberts of Topeka, Kansas; three sisters, Joyce Teague of Nashville, AR, Mary Ellen Wood of Milwalkee, WI and Betty Ann Oliver of Fort Smith, AR; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Edna Pearl Honeycutt, 92, of Hope, died Sunday, July 9, 2006, at a Hope nursing home. She was born March 14, 1914, at McCaskill, AR, the daughter of the late Erastus and Eula Rodgers Brown.
She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Honeycutt and one daughter, Beulah Honeycutt. Two brothers Chester and Clyde Brown, and one sister Mildred Buckley
Mrs. Honeycutt is survived by three sons, Johnnie Honeycutt of Hope, AR, Robert Honeycutt of Prescott, AR and James Honeycutt of Hope, AR; two daughters Mary Parker of Hope, AR, and Shirley Jackson of Hope, AR; nine Grandchildren, eleven Great-grandchildren, and two Great-great grandchildren.

Lema Sue Price, 83, of Nashville, Arkansas, died Sunday, July 9, 2006 at a Hot Springs hospital. She was born June 27, 1923 in Norman, AR., the daughter of the late James Harve and Cora Orrick Ward.
She was a retired nurse for the Colonial Nursing Home and a member of the First Christian Church in Murfreesboro.
Mrs. Price was preceded in death by five sisters and one brother.
Survivors include one son Farron and wife Debbie Wroblewski of Nashville, AR; one sister Mildred Hastings of Baton Rouge, LA; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. One special niece Schvonne and Ray Fendley, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services were 1:00 P.M. Sunday July 9, 2006, at College Hill Cemetery near Murfreesboro. Under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home.

Hazel Bean, 66, of Nashville, Arkansas, died Saturday, July 8, 2006 in a Texarkana hospital. She was born August 12, 1939, in Beloit, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Earl and L.C. Little Wheeler.
She attended the Maranatha Baptist Church and was a security guard for Poulan.
Mrs. Bean was preceded in death by her husband LaVerne Bean and one sister Edith Miller.
Survivors include two sons; Earl and Harold “Jake” Bean both of Nashville, AR; three daughters, LaVerna Taylor of Reform, Al; Terri Dillsaver of Grants Pass, OR; and Darlene Bean of Nashville, AR; one brother Lyle Wheeler of Lone Rock, WI; one sister Mary Hintz of Abbotsford, WI; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Martha Frances McKnight, 76, of Delight, Died Monday, July 3, 2006, at a Hot Springs hospital. She was born March 1, 1930, at Delight, AR, the daughter of the late Jimmy and Mary Ethel Wilson Miller.
She was a member of Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Pisgah.
Mrs. McKnight was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond I. McKnight; sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and J.A. Coker; brothers and sister-in-law, Kenneth Miller, Charles Miller, James Miller and Cecil and Peggy Miller.
She is survived by one son, James Macky McKnight and wife, Rheta, of Delight, AR; one brother, Larry Miller of Delight, AR; three sisters, Ocille Sanders of Camden, AR Gwen McLelland of Delight, AR and Norma Lowery of Murfreesboro, AR; two grandchildren, Jeffrey McKnight and wife, Melody, Celeste May and husband, Chris; two great-grandchildren, Madison May and McKenzie May; two step-great grandchildren, Coley Caldwell and Carol Caldwell; one step great-great grandchild, Aiden Basurto; a number of nephews and nieces and a host of friends.

Annie Estelle Jackson, known to many as “Tincie”, 85 died Monday, July 3, 2006 at her home.
Ms. Jackson was born January 3, 1921, the daughter of the late Tom Wall and Nettie Bateman Wall.
Ms. Jackson and her late husband were both retired farmers in the community of Pike City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ola Jackson; two daughters, Betty Ann Jackson and Jean Parker; two sisters, Edna Johnson and Belle Spears; and one brother, Jessie Wall.
Survivors include: one daughter, Judy Stokes of Pike City; one son, Tim Jackson of Pike City; one sister, Clara Mae Mabery of Pike City; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 6, 2006 in Pike City Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Gerald Ward officiating. Burial was in the Pike City Cemetery under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home of Murfreesboro.
