Eugene T. “Bubba” Wallis

Eugene T. “Bubba” Wallis, 55, of Nashville, died Monday, July 3, 2006. He was born April 24, 1951, at Nashville, AR, the son of the late Eugene Hendricks, Jr. and Martha Philippi Wallis.
He was a member of the Sunset Church of Christ; and the Reid/Howard Hunting Club. He was a substitute teacher for Nashville Public Schools. He was retired from Centerpoint Energy.
Mr. Wallis is survived by his wife, Deb Wallis of Nashville, AR; two sons, Heath Wallis and wife, Leanne, of Cabot, AR and Ben Wallis and wife, Linzi, of Nashville, AR; three sisters, Linda Campbell and husband, Mike, of Nashville, AR; Marilyn Micheletti, of Memphis, TN and Terri Moore of Little Rock, AR; one grandchild, Emily Wallis; a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 5, at Sunset Church of Christ with Randy Hughes officiating, burial in Restland Memorial Park, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday, July 4, from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M.

Robert Cummings

Robert Paul Cummings of Murfreesboro, AR, passed away Sunday, June 25th, 2006 at age 72 after a long illness. He was born in Murfreesboro on November 9th, 1933, the first child of Arthur and Pauline Cummings. He was preceded in death by both of his Cummings. They were united in marriage on November 27th, 1954 parents. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marquita Henry in Topeka, Kansas. They had three daughters Debra Cummings Wicker of Forest Hill, Maryland, Barbara Cummings Nivewns of Perryville, Missouri and Tamara Cummings Lieven of Nashville, Arkansas. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Melissa Gault, Tiffany Ellis, Jason Wicker and Ryanne Wicker; one great-grandchild, Jason Wayne Gault; one brother, Clyde Cummings; two sisters, Ruby Cummings Barbany and Dorothy Cummings Cox and many other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cummings served in the United States Air Force for twenty years before retiring in 1972. He served two tours of duty in Korea and also one tour of duty in Korea and also one tour of duty in Vietnam during the 1970’s. He was stationed at Forbes Air Force Base in Kansas, McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey.Ellemendorf Air Force Base in Alaska, Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland and several other stations around the world before returning home to Murfreesboro upon his retirement.
Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 29, at Latimer Funeral Home Chapel, Murfreesboro, with Bro. Freeman Henderson officiating, burial in College Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Murfreesboro.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Wednesday, June 28, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.

Lottie Mae Lay Oliver, of Hot Springs Village, formerly of Nashville, died June 20, 2006, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was born December 5, 1908 in Nathan, Arkansas the daughter of the late Augustus and Essie Webb Lay.
Mrs. Oliver was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Bowman Oliver.
Survivors include two sons William B. Oliver and wife Doris of Hot Springs Village, Bob Oliver and wife Jean of Houston, TX; one daughter Gwendolyn Briley of Scottsdale, AZ; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law Sarah Lay of Nashville, Wanda Lay of Texarkana, AR, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 24, 2006, at Latimer Funeral Home with burial in Academy Cemetery at Nathan. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Children’s Home, 5515 Old Walcott Rd., Paragould, AR 72452-9983 or the charity of ones choice.

Windel Womack, 51, of Murfreesboro, died Saturday, June 17, 2006, at a Hot Springs hospital. He was born August 3, 1954, at Nashville, AR, the son of the late Ross and Emmagene Self Womack.
He was a member of Pleasant Home Church of Christ.
Mr. Womack was preceded in death by one brother, Mack Womack.
He is survived by his wife, Carla Womack of Murfreesboro, AR one son, Wesley Womack of Murfreesboro, AR; one sister, Barbara Moffitt of Taft, TX; nephews and nieces Robert Womack, of Nashville, AR; Jeremy Moffitt, Carise Moffitt, and Kim Grossbeck, all of Texas, as well as numerous other nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 20, at Pleasant Home Church of Christ, with Mr. Steve Kelley officiating, burial in Pleasant Home Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Murfreesboro.

Ruby Jewel McDaniel, 99, of Magnolia, formerly of Booneville, AR, died Friday, June 16, 2006, at a Magnolia hospital. She was born April 17, 1907, at Murfreesboro, AR, the daughter of the late Thomas and Canna Ruth Bradford.
She was a member of the College View Baptist Church in Magnolia, AR.
Mrs. McDaniel was preceded in death by her three husbands, two sons, four brothers and her step-mother, Lucy Bradford.
She is survived by two sons, Joe Leslie and wife, Laverne, of Magnolia, AR and John Leslie of McNeil, AR; one daughter, Margaret Ralph and husband, Jim of Clovis, CA; four brothers, Edwin Bradford of Wake Village, TX, Larkin Bradford of Kountyer, TX, J.L. Bradford of Nashville, AR and R.V. Bradford of Nashville, AR; four sisters, Shirley Bradford of Nashville, AR, Betty Kihodeaux of Beaumont, TX, Linda Hockaday of Nashville, AR and Patsey Whitehead of Texarkana, AR; fifteen brandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Mary Jane Watson 66, of Nashville, AR, died, January 12, 2008 at a Texarkana hospital. She was born October 26, 1941 the daughter of the late Herman Bell and Ida Roberts Chambers.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Nashville.
Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her husband William Dwaine Watson.
She is survived by one daughter Lesley White and husband Roger of Nashville, AR; two brothers Junior Bell of Hope, AR, and Joe Arnold of Spring Hill, LA.; one sister Jean Britt of Nashville, AR; and three grandchildren Hunter, Hannah, and Justin White.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 15, at the Latimer Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in County Line Cemetery, with Ralph Posey and Calvin Parker officiating. Under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.

Calvin Hiram McWha, 75, of Delight, died Thursday, January 10, 2008, at his home. He was born January 23, 1932, in Amity, AR, the son of the late Jacob Jackson and Sarah Jane Whisenhunt McWha.
He was a Baptist. He was a retired Truck Driver for the Corp of Engineer.
Mr. McWha was preceded in death by his wife, Martha B. McWha and two sisters, Ada McWha and Clara McWha.
He is survived by two sons, Calvin Wayne McWha of Nashville, AR and Tracy McWha of Delight, AR; two brothers, Elster McWha of Indiana and William B. McWha of Hot Springs, AR, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 12, at Delight Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Murfreesboro.

Noel Don “Chuck” Carlton, age 78, of Nashville, Arkansas, died Saturday January 5, 2008, in Nashville. He was born October 6, 1929, in Bodcow, Arkansas, the son of the late Joseph Clarance and Solon Hollie Grishaum Carlton. He was a member of Bingen United Methodist Church, was a Gideon, and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Carlton was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors include his wife Ruby Jo Carlton of Nashville; 2 sons and daughters-in-law Joe and Laura Carlton of Nashville, Mack and Lisa Carlton of Texarkana; 2 grandchildren Michael Carlton, Dana Carlton and 1 great-grandchild Jaden. She was born February 5, 1935 in Mineral Springs, Arkansas the daughter of the late Clarence and Leathel Hosey Roberson. She was a self-employed beautician and was a member of County Line Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by 1 daughter Ginger Diane Ray; 1 brother Irving Rosser; and 1 sister Bonnie Clark. Survivors include her husband Eugene Ray of Nashville; 2 sons and daughters-in-law Eddie and Anna Ray, Jimmy and Sherry Ray all of Nashville; 1 daughter and son-in-law Sandy and Tom Jones of San Diego, CA; 7 grandchildren Sean Jones, Sherae Jones, Kristi Rosenbaum, Kari Crow, Kadem Ray, Cannon Ray and Cattlin Ray; as well as 6 great grandchildren. Carl Owens McCrary, age 50, of Nashville, Arkansas, died Friday, January 4, 2008 in a Nashville hospital. He was born February 8, 1957 in Nashville, Arkansas, the son of the late James Matthew McCrary and Verna Marie Cornish McCrary. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, sang in the choir, and was an Assistant Sunday School Teacher. He was currently serving as President of the Hempstead County Farmer’s Association, where he was a Board Member for 25 years. He received Honorary Chapter Farmer from the Nashville FFA, and enjoyed sharing his love and knowledge of farming with area FFA chapters and judging teams. Survivors include his wife Leslie McCrary; 2 sons David McCrary, Caleb McCrary; 1 daughter Elizabeth McCrary; and mother Verna Marie McCrary all of Nashville; 1 brother James Paul McCrary of Midland, TX; 4 sisters Camellia Lambert of Germantown, TN, Belinda Hussey of Alexander, AR, Virginia “Ginger” Primm of Benton, Debra Fischer of Texarkana, TX; and a large number of nieces, nephews, and friends. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday at Immanuel Baptist Church with burial in County Line Cemetery. Bro. Tim Montgomery and Bro. Glen Green will officiate. Visitation will be 3:00-5:00 P.M. Henry Swann, 73, of Nashville, died Wednesday, January 2, 2008, at a Texarkana hospital. He was born Sept 23, 1934, in Minneola, TX, the son of the late Doug and Grace Baldwin Swann.
He was a Baptist. He was past Arkansas State president of the FOE, member of the Masonic Lodge in Nashville, and of the Cattleman’s Association. He was president of Metal Workers Connection and former manager of the Nashville Crate Company. He was owner and president of Central Machine Shop, Inc. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp.
Mr. Swann was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Patsy Harrell.
He is survived by his wife, Nadine Swann of Nashville, AR; three daughters, Dena Patterson of Rogers, AR, Deborah Arnold of Greenwood, AR and Donna Swann of Fayetteville, AR; one brother, Dudley Swann of Little Rock, AR; two sisters, Betty Harris of Prairie Village, KS and Mary Ann Scott; four grandchildren, Kristen and Joshua Arnold of Greenwood, AR and Aaron and Trent Patterson of Rogers, AR; a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

J.T. Rogers, 86, of McCaskill, died Sunday, January 1, 2008, at his home. He was born November 2, 1921, at Bodcaw, AR, the son of the late Thomas Lloyd and Gordia Vines Rogers.
He was a member of the McCaskill Church of Christ. He was a member of Blue Branch Hunting Club and board member of the Friendship Cemetery Association.
Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his first wife, Verna Stone Rogers, the mother of his daughters; one brother, Floyd Rogers; three half-sisters and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Rogers of McCaskill, AR; two daughters, Ann Smithson and husband Gene of Ashdown, AR and Sue Feemster of Ashdown, AR and one step-daughter, Debra Oliver of Lafayette, CA; one sister, Susan Coleman of Kirbyville, TX; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Vahnita McKinney Denny and 2 sisters. Survivors include 2 sons and daughters-in-law Carleton Denny, Jr. and wife Shirley, Joe D. Harry W. Newton, 63, of Antoine, died Thursday, December 20, 2007, at a Murfreesboro nursing home. He was born December 15, 1944, in Wardell, MO, the son of the late Ervin and Verna Busby Newton.
He was a Baptist.
Mr. Newton was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lavoyce Newton, Howard, Newton; a niece, Pam Henderson; and two brothers-in-law, Cecil Price and Dale Gathright.
He is survived by two sisters, Vivian Gathright of Saratoga, AR and Sue Price of Antoine, AR; a number of nephews and nieces and a host of friends.

Kyle Andrews, 91, of Delight, died Tuesday, December 18, 2007, at a Murfreesboro hospital. He was born February 18, 1916 in Delight, AR, the son of the late John Robert and Maude Elizabeth Doss Andrews.
He was a member of the Bowen Community Church. He was a gospel singer and Baptist. He was a member of the VFW, DAV, and Masonic Lodge # 250 Pisgah.
Mr. Andrews was preceded in death by four children, Kyle Andrews, Jr., and twins, Carl and Cecil Andrews and Linda Lou Andrews; granddaughter, Tiffany Davidson and one brother, E.A. “Mutt” Andrews.
He is survived by his wife, Dessie Andrews of Delight, AR; one son, Joey Andrews, and wife, Melissa, of Delight, AR; five daughters, Joy Brantley and husband, Thomas, of Delight AR: Betty Steele and husband, Ray, of Hope, AR, Grace Davidson and husband, Walter, of Prescott, AR; Susie O’Neal and husband, Jerry, of Delight, AR and Georgia Rhodes and husband, Stanley, of Delight, AR; one brother, Conrad Andrews of Sherwood, AR; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M., Friday, December 21st at Missionary Grove Baptist Church in Nubin Hill Community, with Neal Redlin and Jerry Burress officiating, burial in Nubin Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Murfreesboro.

Sarah Newberg, 97, of Nashville, died Monday, December 17, 2007, at a Nashville hospital. She was born December 1, 1910, in Mineral Springs, AR, the daughter of the late Jesse and Willie Coleman Cowling.
She was member of First United Methodist Church, Nashville, Loyal Girls Sunday School Class, Twilight Extension Homemaker Club and former member of DAR.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Newberg.
Mrs. Newberg is survived by three sons, Don Newberg of Nashville, AR, Bill Newberg of Ashdown, AR, and Jim Newberg of Nacogdoches, TX, seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.and a host of friends.

Nannie Lou Black, 89, of Murfreesboro, died Monday, December 17, at a Texarkana hospital. She was born June 18, 1918 in Saratoga, AR, the daughter of the late William Oscar and Viola Bland McJunkins.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Mrs. Black was preceded in death by her husband, Newt Black and one son, Dean Black.
She is survived by two daughters, Faye Champion of Wake Village, TX and Jane Fugitt of Murfreesboro, AR; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host friends.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 18, at Murfreesboro Church of Christ, with Tommy Mounts officiating, burial will follow at 4:00 P.M., at Memory Gardens in Hope, AR, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Murfreesboro.
