Augusta "Gussie" M. Orleman, 74, of Toms River, passed away on Wednesday, 30th, 2008, at Community Medical Center Hospice of Toms River.
Born in and resided in Staten Island, NY, Silverton, Toms River & Vermont, before returning to Toms River in 2006. She was a Collections Manager for Domestic Finance in Staten Island, Manager for Classified Collection at the Ocean County Observer, she worked for Atlantic Computers in Toms River, and she also worked in Sales for Hill's Five & Dime Store in Bradford, Vermont, before retiring.
Mrs. Orleman is survived by her children, Steven Orleman Sr., Elaine Valenti, Sondra Bradford, her brother Henry Graf, her sister Sandra Hendley, 4 grandchildren, Steven Jr., Brandi, Veronica and Robert, and dear friend Carol Potaris.

Ann DeVito of Leisure Village East passed away April 29, 2008 at Community Medical Center, Toms River.
Born in Newark she resided in Point Pleasant before moving to Brick in 1985.
Ms. DeVito was a Computer Data Processor for Lucent Technologies in Holmdel for 25 years retiring in 1986.
She was predeceased by her sisters Angie Sirianni and Toni Taylor.
Surviving are her brothers Peter De Vito and Joseph De Vito, her sister Minnie Manochio, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

Louis C. De Simone, 85, of Toms River, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2008, at home.
Born in Hoboken, Mr. De Simone resided in Jersey City until moving to Toms River in 1994. Louis' careers included an entrepreneurial venture in Zoom Courier Service and 25 years as a sales representative and manager for a tool and die company. In 2000, he served as an enumerator for the census. Mr. De Simone proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a radio operator on the USS Lacerta. He was a member of the Social Club, and the Fishing Club of Holiday City in Silverton.
Mr. De Simone is predeceased by his son Vincent, who passed in 1983. He is survived by his wife Grace De Simone, his 2 daughters, Lois Meagher and her husband Edward, Grace Miastkowski and her husband James, his brother Andrew De Simone, and 3 grandchildren, Kenneth, Brian and Lauren.

Anne M. Bernacki, 76, of Brick NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving husband and family.
Anne, the youngest of seven children born to Michael and Anne Murtha of Queens, NY, resided on Old Freehold Road in Toms River and was a faithful parishioner of Saint Joseph's Church from 1976 until 2000. In 2000, Anne and husband, Walter, then moved to Holiday City West at Berkley where Anne was a member of ceramics club, attended Bingo weekly, and was a parishioner of Saint Maximillians Church. For the past year and a half she moved to Brick to live with family and was a parishioner at Church of the Visitation.
Anne was a Homemaker and worked as an Executive Secretary at Highland Park Apartments, but always found time to devote to her husband and her four children. When her sons were younger, she was a volunteer at Toms River Little League and also a "Team Mom". She was a proud Mother, always supportive and encouraging in all her children's activities and dreams.
She is pre-deceased by her parents, her brothers, Ben, Jack, Jim, and her sisters, Josephine and Marcella. She will be remembered and loved always by her surviving husband, Walter, of 46 years, her eldest son Larry Bernacki and his wife Mary Ann, her two daughters Nancy Merz and her husband Bill, Melissa Rahn and her husband Mark, her youngest son Craig Bernacki and her five grandchildren, Clayton, Kyle, Derek, Amanda, Ashley, and her newest grandson due in July. She is also survived and loved by her elder sister Katherine Topf and her sister-in-law Sarah Murtha of 60 years.

Anna Danzi McGann, 52, died peacefully on April 25th 2008 after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Raised in Denville and was a student of Morris Knoffs School. She was employed for years in the Hotel/Motel Management business with Twin Lakes Hotel Corporation.
Anna was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. McGann was predeceased by her father Pete Danzi, her mother Nancy Catania Danzi and a sister. Surviving are her husband of 30 years, Robert J., a daughter Melisa Marie, a son-in-law George Graubard and most importantly a grandson Jorge Robert Graubard.

Born in Newark, Mrs. Juliano resided in Carlstadt for 27 years, until moving to Toms River in 1980. She was the co-owner and operator of the Carlton Cleaners in Wallington for 10 years, retiring in 1978.

Lena Vernuccio 90 of Whiting passed away April 24, 2008 at home.
Born in New York, she resided in West New York, Union City, Jersey City and Norwood before moving to Whiting in 1987.
Mrs. Vernuccio worked for Duro-Test in North Bergen for 10 years retiring in the 70's.
She was predeceased by her son Salvatore who died in 1968.
Surviving are her husband, Michael Vernuccio, her daughter, Genevieve Ballance and her grandchildren, Danielle Ballance and Michael Ballance.

Lydia Musgrave Robinson, 47, of Seaside Heights, formerly of Brick, departed this world on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008, after a tenacious battle with cancer. She said: I'm not going down without a fight!"
Lydia was predeceased by her Mother and Father, Mr. and Mrs. William Musgrave and Cousin Jesse Mattson, all of whom she loved dearly. Surviving are Brother William E. Musgrave and Sister Penny Lynn Musgrave. She also leaves behind many friends and loved ones.
Lydia was born in N.J. and attended Brick Public School. She had a 30 year career in the Restaurant and Entertainment Industries. She performed stand-up comedy at both The Improv and The Laugh Factory in Manhattan. She was devoted to her pets, animal rights, and was known for rescuing strays. Lydia was an intelligent and generous human being who loved good food, fine wine, music of all kinds, and she especially loved to make people laugh with her own brand of self deprecating humor. She spent many years basking in the sunshine of Gunnison Beach. Lydia will always be remembered for her comic wit and cutting humor; she had the gift of gab, and she could talk her way into or out of anything. She will not be forgotten, she will be missed.
Fotios Kotsifas, 70, of Pinebush NY, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Westchester Hospital in NY.
Born in Amalias, Greece, Mr. Kotsifas resided in Pinebush NY and in Florida. He was the Owner of Frankie's & Sons Restaurant in Brooksville Florida for 11 years, just recently retiring.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, living in Rahway most of her life before moving to brick in 1997. She was a Secretary for the Merck & Company of Rahway for 20 years, retiring in 1995. Helen was a member of the Lions Head North Community Assoc., & the Rahway Elks Ladies Auxiliary.

Mary Josephine Vaughan, 93 of Lakewood, NJ, passed on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at her home.
Mrs. Vaughan was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Staten Island for a few years before moving to NJ. She worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance in Manhattan until her retirement in 1943. She married Herbert Vaughan Jr in 1942 she then moved to Lincoft, NJ in 1959 and Lakewood in 1972. Mrs Vaughan enjoyed collecting and restoring antiques, a hobby which made her quite well known in local Antique Circles.
Her husband predeceased her 1998.

Dorothy Marshall-Cann 88 of Brick passed away April 17, 2008 at Community Medical Center Hospice Unit, Toms River.
Born in Pawtucket, RI, she resided in Newark, Roselle Park, retired to Point Pleasant, moving to Brick in 1992. Mrs. Cann worked for the Union County Trust Bank in Elizabeth for 25 years, prior to her retirement 1984 she commuted by train from Bay Head, NJ. She was a member of St. Raphael's Episcopal Church in Brick, she was an excellent seamstress, had graduated from Eastside High School in Newark, where she received a scholarship to beauty school.
She was predeceased by her husband John in 1999, her granddaughter Tara Cann and brother and sisters Albert Marshall, Ernest Marshall, Evelyn Perry, Beatrice Sieja and Madelyn Miller Collins. Surviving are her beloved children John Cann, Jonthea Prusinski and Patricia Wolfinger. Her cherished 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Juan Santana
On April 13, 2008, the world lost a beautiful and amazing man, Juan Santana.
At age 60, Juan lived in Puerto Rico alongside his wife, partner and friend, Maria Santana. He retired about 4 years ago as a Supervisor of Trades for the Newark Board of Education. Juan loved his wife, his daughters, his grandchildren, and his beautiful island of Puerto Rico. As a Christian, Juan always believed that just as Jesus Christ was our builder and carpenter here on earth, that he too would one day serve our Risen Savior at His side. Juan Santana was a humble kind-hearted man who touched the hearts of everyone he met. His simple presence made people smile. He was hospitable and his willingness to help others went above and beyond.
He had a profound love for his family, acting as their counselor and strength, with excellence he was always available to help with their causes, projects while advising them with difficult situations.
Although his spirit has flown into the clouds of heaven like a dove, his love and unprecedented memories will be cherished in our hearts forever. God has a blue print for each of us and Juan made a lasting impression on us all that will never fade away.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Maria Santana "Nena"; his 3 daughters, Ana of Lacey Township, Juanita of Bayville, and Noemi of Bayville; nine grandchildren, William, Rebecca, Kassandra, Joshua, Idalis, Emely, Danny, Juan and Carlos; 3 sons in law, Danny, Juan and Warner; his parents Ana and Marcelo.

Eleanor F. Neroda, 86, of Brick, formerly of Mountainside, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
She was an alumnus of David Mannes College of Music, New York, and a piano teacher for 35 years. She was a member of the Griffith Music Foundation and the New Jersey Music Education Council.
She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew, in 1987, a sister Mae Wolff in 1994, and her mother, May Getzoff in 1997.
Surviving are a daughter, Bette N. Wells, of Brick, a niece, Lois Cartine of Brick, a nephew, Robert Wolff, of Brick.
Internment will be private.

Anna R. Stevens 83 of Brick passed away April 11, 2008 at Arbor Care Center, Toms River.
Born in Jersey City she resided in Jersey City and Florida before moving to Brick in 1999. Mrs. Stevens was a Keypunch operator for the Lightolier in Jersey City for 20 years retiring in 1963. She was a communicant of the Church of the Visitation RC Church, Brick.
She was predeceased by her husband William in 1999 and her brother Modesto Lombardi.
Surviving are her brother Louis Lombardi of Toms River and her sister Mildred Ann Esposito of Brick and several nieces and nephews.

Retired 1st grade Detective Vincent C. Smith 84 of Lakewood passed away April 9, 2008 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
Born in Staten Island, he resided in Staten Island and Marlboro before moving to Lakewood in 1992. Mr. Smith was a New York City Detective for 27 years retiring in 1981. He was a World War II Navy Veteran, and was a member of the Brick VFW
and the 10-13 of Brick. He was a communicant of St. Luke's RC Church.
He was predeceased by his sister Helen Antonietta.

Born in Lakewood she resided in Lakewood before moving to Toms River.
Judith was a 1960 graduated of Lakewood High School and had attended Monmouth University, she was a member of the NJ Lighthouse Society and was a former member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Lakewood where she taught Sunday school.

He was Chief Engineer for Rheem Manufacturing Co., Linden, NJ, for 35 years, retiring in 1985. Eugene was a U S Army Veteran during World War II, a member of the Men's Club of Lions Head South, VFW - post # 6588, the Duran Blue Lodge AF & AM of Pt. Pleasant, and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Chicago, IL.

John F. Baldwin, 87, of Lakewood died peacefully on April 7, 2008 at Ocean County Medical Center following a long illness.
John, a native of Kinsale, County Cork, Ireland, emigrated to America with his family at age 14. He graduated from Power Memorial Academy in New York City and earned a scholarship to Fordham University. In his Junior year, he enlisted in the Army where he served in the anti-aircraft unit for four years. Following discharge, he returned to finish his studies at Fordham and graduated summa cum laude.
John entered the insurance industry and was employed by Liberty Mutual Insurance Company for 21 years before relocating to Hazlet, New Jersey at which time he became an associate in an independent agency handling commercial insurance. He retired in 1986 and later moved to Lions Head Woods, an adult community, in Lakewood, New Jersey where he was involved in numerous activities for many years, enjoying golf, darts and membership in Showtimers. He was also an avid Giants fan.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ann and Daniel Baldwin and by his sister, Ann Quinn.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (nee McGreevy); four sons, Daniel, John David, Peter and Stephen; three daughters, Maureen Flood, Regina Baldwin-Harwood and Elizabeth Davis; and by 17 grandchildren, as well as his sister Catherine Boyle.

William A. Wright, 79 of Toms River, passed on Monday, April 7, 2008 at his home.
Born in New York City he lived in Fairlawn, NJ before moving to Toms River in 1966. Mr. Wright was the owner and operator of the Ice Crème World in Toms River. Bill was an avid fan of the Yankees, Jets and NY Rangers. He attended many games with his Sons-in-law, Joe, Ted & Steve and grandchildren.
