Raymond J. Aughenbaugh
GLEN RICHEY - Services for Raymond J. Aughenbaugh, 68, of GlenRichey, Clearfield R.D., who died Friday, Aug. 12 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Leavy - Valigorsky Funeral Home, Clearfield.
The Rev. Duane White will officiate and interment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded at the gravesite by the Clearfield VFW and American Legion posts.
Friends will be received at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and on Wednesday until the service.
Born Aug. 20,1919, in Croft, he was a son of Ernest and Effie (Ross) Aughenbaugh.
Mr. Aughenbaugh, a U.S. Naval veteran of World War II, retired in 1981 from Harbison-Walker Refractories after 35 years of service.
He was a member of the Clearfield VFW, John Lewis Shade Legion and the Fraternal order of Eagles No. 812 and had served in the National Guard in 1962.
He is survived by his mother of Glen Richey; his wife, Florence (Shubert) Aughenbaugh of Glen Richey; one daughter, Mrs. Al (Rosella) Smeal of Sanborn; four sons, Ernest S. of St. Johns, Mich., Edward J. and Robert W., both of Glen Richey, and Frederick W. of Sanborn; 20 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph of Revloc and Frederick of Clearfield; and three sisters, Mrs. Richard (Ruth) Welsh of Clearfield, Mrs. Harold (Betty) Renner of New Bern, N.C., and Mrs. Richard (Virginia) Smith of Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his father; one son, Raymond J. Jr., in 1988; and one brother, Ernest.
Effie B. Aughenbaugh
GLEN RICHEY - Former Glen Richey resident Effie B. Aughenbaugh, 94, a guest of Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield, died Saturday, Dec. 18,1993, at the center.
Born May 7, 1899, in Berwingsdale, she was a daughter of the late Philip and Lydia (Cathcart) Ross.
Mrs. Aughenbaugh had formerly been employed by the Dimeling Hotel, Clearfield, the Airplane Marine in Hyde and the former Children's Home in Clearfield.
She retired from the Mayflower Hotel of Akron, Ohio, then returned to the Clearfield area.
She was Presbyterian by faith and enjoyed needlework, including crocheting and knitting.
On July 23, 1915, she married Ernest B. Aughenbaugh, who preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 1964.
In additon to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Aughenbaugh was preceded in death by three sons, Ernest, Raymond and Kenneth; three granchildren; and these brothers and sisters, Margaret, Liz, May, Minnie, Tean, Willis, Sam and Charlie.
Mrs. Aughenbaugh was the last member of her immediate family.
She is survived by a son, Frederick W. Aughenbaugh of Clearfield; and three daughters, Mrs.Richard (Ruth) Welch of Clearfield, Mrs. Harold (Betty) Renner of New Bern, N.C., and Mrs. Eugene (Virginia) Smith of Indiana.
Also surviving are 33 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great granchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and until the hour of services Wednesday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Duane A. White officiating.
Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of one's choice.
Raymond J. Aughenbaugh Jr.
OSHANTER - Services for Raymond James Aughenbaugh Jr., 47,of OShanter, who died Wednesday,Jan. 6, at Clearfield Hospital, will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc., Curwensville, Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William F. Norman officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Clearfield R.D.
Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2 p.m. today and until the service tomorrow.
Born Dec. 31, 1940, in Clearfield, he was a son of Raymond J. and Florence E. (Shubert) Auhenbaugh.
Mr. Auhenbaugh, who had served in the U.S. Army, was employed for 13 years as a machinist for Harbison Walker Refractories. He was a Methodist by faith.
He is survived by his parents of Clearfield R.D.; these children, Raymond J. III, David L. and Rozella E., all of OShanter, Mrs. Rick (Judith A.) Hanes and Melissa L., both of Stronach, Curwensville R.D., Mrs. Robert (Florence L.) Lytle of Geln Richey and Ernest M. of Coral Springs, Fla.; four granchildren; one sister, Mrs. Alfred (Rozella) Smeal of Sanborn; and four brothers, Ernest of Michigan, Frederick of Sanborn and Edward and Robert, both of Glen Richey.
He was preceded in deeath by his paternal grandather, Ernest Aughenbaugh, and his maternal grandparents, Adam and Mary Shubert.
Mrs. Elizabeth Faulkner
Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Faulkner will be conducted from the Fred B. Leavy Funeral Home Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Earl Brooks officiating.
Interment will be at the Centre Cemetery and friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 plm. Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, and until the hour of services on Friday.
WCTU members of the First United Presbyterian Church will conduct memorial services Thursday evening at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Faulkner, 75, of Powell Avenue, Hyde, was pronounced dead-on-arrival at the Clearfield Hospital Mondday.
Born in Westover, Sept. 23, 1897, she was a daughter of Robert and Anna (Snyder) Mitchell.
She is surrvived by these children: James C., Berlin, Pa., Mrs. Robert (Mae) Shaffer, Curwensville; Mrs. Joseph (Jean) Straw, Clearfield; Jessie W. Burt, N.Y.; Mrs. Gerald A. (Margaret E.) Knepp, Hyde; Donald E., Clearfield; Mrs. Glenn (Lois) Riddle, Elizabeth, N.J., and Mrs. Clifford (Louise) Hockman Jr., Sayreville, M.J.
Other survivors are 19 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and one brother, C. Perry Mitchell of DuBois.
Mrs. Faulkner was preceded in death by her husband, James, one daughter, two grandchildren, her parents, four brothers and three sisters.
She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Clearfield, a member and the secretary of Class 4 of the church and active in the WCTU Grandmothers Club, and the ladies auxiliary to the Hyde Fire Company.
Donald E. Faulkner
HYDE - Doald E. Faulkner, 61, of Hyde died Friday, May 23, 1997, at Clearfield Hospital.
Born Oct. 14, 1935, in Hyde, he was a son of James and Elizabeth (Mitchell) Faulkner.
Mr. Faulkner was formerly employed by Lawrence Township for 22 years.
He was Presbyterian by faith.
On May 10, 1965, in Clearfield, he wed his wife, Florence Aughenbaugh, who survives along with two children, Brian of Woodland and Mrs. Mark (Desiree) Hubler of West Decatur.
Also surviving are four granchildren, a brother and four sisters, Jesse of Burt, N.Y., May Shafer of Curwensville, Margaret Knepp of Hyde, Lois Riddle of Clearfield and Louise Hockman of New Jersey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, James; and two sisters, Elsie Faulkner and Jean Straw.
Services will be held at Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield, on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with Mr. Richard B. Barkley officiating.
Interment will be in Centre Cemetery, Hyde.
Friends will be received at the funeral home from 3-5 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. Monday and from noon until 1 p.m. Tuesday.
