1954 - C. SCOTT CRIBBS, Ligonier street, Derry, passed away at his home Wednesday, June 23, at 5:45 pm
He was a retired ticket agent on the Pennsylvania Railroad, and sexton of Coles Cemetery in Derry.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Dora M. Cribbs, and the following children: Mrs. Frances Cairnnn of Derry, Mrs. Mae
Otte of Wilkinsburg, C. Mervin Cribbs of Derry, and Harry M. Cribbs of Johnstown.
He was a member of F. and A.M. No. 568 of Derry, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and the Knights of Malta. He was
also a member of the Derry Methodist Church.
Friends are now being received at the Hughes Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 2 pm Saturday.
Interment will follow in Blairsville cemetery.
1923 - MRS. ISRAEL (Georgiana) CRIBBS, aged 77 years, wife of Israel Cribbs, died on March 8th in Pittsburgh
at the home of her daughte, Mrs. Thomas Keane. The deceased whose maiden name was Georgiana Cribbs, was born
and reared in Blairsville, but had been a resident of Pittsburgh for 50 years. She is survived by her husband and besides
Mrs. Keane, another daughter, Mrs. J. C. Baird, of Erie. She is also survived by two brothers, John Cribbs, of Indiana
and Frank Cribbs, of Erie.
1917 - MRS. JOSEPH (Nancy Jane) CRIBBS, wife of Joseph Cribbs, died at her home in Blairsville, September 14, 1917, aged 68 years. Pneumonia was the cause of her death. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. A.
McKinnie Baker, and Mrs. Arthur Nesbit, and two sons, Thomas and Roy Cribbs; also by three brothers, John P. Barr,
of Blairsville; Alex, of Iowa, and George W., of Kansas. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, conducted by
her pastor, Rev. R. E. McClure, D.D. Interment was made in Blairsville cemetery.
1986 - ARTHUR L. CRIBBS, of Latrobe RD 5 (Beatty), died Saturday, March 1, 1986, in the Latrobe Area
Hospital.
A son of David W. and Bess Carson Cribbs, he was born at Blairsville.
Mr. Cribbs was a movie projectionist for 50 years in Blairsville and Latrobe. He was a member and past president of
IATSE Local 664 of Vandergrift.
Surviving are his wife, Dolores Skoloda Cribbs; two daughters, Mrs. Louis (Sondra) Benedusi of Blairsville and Mrs.
Lawrence (Cheryl) Serena of Saegertown; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a siste, Mrs. Hazel Smith; and two brothers, Delbert and Wendell Cribbs.
Services were held in the Richard W. Dell Home for Funerals, Latrobe, at 11 am Monday. Rev. Kenneth McGowan,
Pastor of the Latrobe Methodist Church, officiated. Interment was made in Blairsville Cemetery.
1954 - MRS. IDA CRIBBS HARKLEROAD, passed away February 4, at 2:30 am. in the Indiana Hospital.
A daughter of Michael and Barbara Cessna Cribbs, born April 16, 1867, in Plumcreek Township, Armstrong county,
the deceased had been a resident of Indiana for the past 46 years, and was a member of the Zion Lutheran church.
Widow of Cyrus B. Harkelroad, she is survived by two sons and two daughters: Arthur of Patterson, NJ; Zenas K. and Mrs. George E. (Edna) Allison, both of Indiana, and Mrs. Barbara Pattison of Canton, Ohio; also by six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one brother Clark Cribbs of Elderton.
Mr. and Mrs. Allison had been living with their mother in the Harkleroad family home at 1251 Philadelphia street.
Friends will be received at the Hill Funeral Home, Church street, after 10 am. Friday, where services will be held on Saturday, February 6, at 2:30 pm Dr. Arthur J. Pfohl will officiate and interment will follow in Oakland cemetery.
1967 - MRS. MARY ELZORA (CRIBBS) WOOD, widow of Wilbert Harrison Wood of Shelocta, R.D. 1, died Thursday, June 29, 1967, in the Indiana Hospital.
Born April 13, 1900 in Plum Creek Township, where she spent her early life, she was a daughter of Silas and Clarissa
George Cribbs.
Most of her life was spent in Armstrong Twp. and she was a member of Curry Run Presbyterian Church and the Dorcas Circle of her church in which she was very active.
Survivors include a son, Wayne Wood, Shelocta, R.D. 1; two daughters; Mrs. Seibert (Rose) Wood, Elderton; Mrs. Robert (Betty) Ickes, Bentleyville, F.D. 1; one brother: Glenn Cribbs, Bristolville, O., three sisters: Mrs. Miles (Grace) Rupp, Kittanning; Mrs. Blaine (Martha) Wood, and Mrs. Stanley (Merle) Schall, both of Elderton and ten grandchildren.
Two sons, Cree and Glenn, and a brother John Cribbs, are deceased.
Friends were received Friday evening and will be received today from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Robinson-Lytle's, Indiana, where services will be conducted on Sunday, at 2:30 pm The Rev. Wm. S. Merwin, D.D. will officiate and interment will be in the Elderton Cemetery.
1985 - EFFIE JANE CRIBBS ADAMSON, 95, formerly of 47 Rossmoyne Rd., Home, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 1985, in Indian Haven, Indiana. A daughter of George and Margaret Little Cribbs, she was born Sept. 11, 1889 in Plumville.
Mrs. Adamson was a member of the Smicksburg Lutheran Church. She had lived her entire life in South Mahoning Township.
Surviving are a son, Clarence of Home RD 1; five daughters: Mrs. Clair (Margaret) Peterman of Home, Mrs. Wayne (Charlotte) Helman of Louisville, Ohio, Mrs. James (Effie) Burkett of Plumville, Mrs. Violet Bowers of Louisville, Ohio, Mrs. Robert (Helen) McCausland of Warren, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; 39 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, John Cribbs of Belsano.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and four sisters.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 pm today (Monday) at Robinson-Lytle's, Indiana, where services will be held at 1 pm Tuesday. Rev. John Woods will officiate and interment will be in Smicksburg Lutheran Cemetery.
1986 - OLLA ESTELLA CRIBBS STEWART, 69, of 1139 ____ Ave., New Kensington, formerly of the Lower Burrell highrise, died Monday (July 21, 1986) in Georgian Manor Nursing Home, Brackenridge. She had been ill since March.
Born July 17, 1917, in Blairsville, she was a daughter of the late John Roy and Margaret Ella Grey Cribbs. She had been an area resident for 35 years.
Mrs. Stewart was employed by Pappan's Restaurant and Gaylords, both of New Kensington, for 10 years.
She was a member of the Arnold United Methodist Church, Arnold Fireman's Auxiliary and Senior Citizen's Center, New Kensington. She enjoyed playing cards.
Survivors include a son, Robert Clive Stewart of New Kensington; a daughter, Nancy Eileen Smith of Apollo; four grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Silvis of Brush Valley, Mrs. Alfred (Nancy) Steele of Vandergrift, Mrs. Charles (Carolyn) Gilson of Wilmington, Del.; two brothers, John Cribbs of West Bridgewater and Arthur of Blairsville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Verdyn C. Stewart, two brothers, J. M. and James Cribbs, and a sister, Elizabeth Cost.
Friends will be received tonight from 7 to 9 and tomorrow fro 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in the Rusiewicz Funeral Home, 1400 Fifth Ave., Arnold, where a funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 11 am. by her pastor, the Rev. E. Eugene Ankeny. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. Members of the auxiliary of Arnold Fire Department will assemble at the funeral home tomorrow evening at 7:30 to conduct memorial services. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in care of the American Cancer Society.
1973 - MRS. ESTHER M. LUKEHART CRIBBS, 69, Home RD 1, died Wednesday, May 9, 1973, in the Armstrong County Memorial Hospital in Kittanning.
Born May 29, 1904, in Marion Center RD, she was the daughter of Harry E. and Margaret Hadden Lukehart. She had lived in the Home area for the past 48 years.
Surviving are her husband, Cloud M. Cribbs; a son, Clair, Home RD 1; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters: Mrs. Annie Heberling, Smicksburg RD 1; and Mrs. Martha Fisher, Home RD 1; a brother, John Lukehart, Creekside RD 1; and a half-sister, Mrs. Carl Haggerty, Indiana RD 5.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday in the Bowser Funeral Home in Plumville where services will be conducted at 2 pm Saturday. The Rev. Olaf Carlsen will officiate and burial will be in the Marion Center Cemetery.
1972 - MRS. MINNIE A. CRIBBS HAGGERTY, 78, Indiana RD 5, (near Five Points), died Thursday, June 22, 1972, at Miners Hospital, Spangler, following an extended illness.
Born in Indiana County March 28, 1894, she was a daughter of George A. and Margaret E. Little Cribbs.
She had been a lifelong resident of the Five Points area.
Mrs. Haggerty was a member of the Lutheran faith.

Sagamore; Daniel, California; 61 grandmother; 53 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; these brothers: James Cribbs, Plumville; John Cribbs, Ohio; these sisters: Jane Adamson, Plumville; Mrs. Rose Nyland, Canton, Ohio; Mrs. Blanche Nyland, Belsano.
Her husband, Patrick Haggerty, preceded her in death in 1969.

1975 - MRS. BARBARA GRACE CRIBBS RUPP, 80, Elderton, died Friday, Feb. 21, 1975 at Armstrong County Hospital, Kittanning RD.
A daughter of Silas and Corinda George Cribbs, she was born March 27, 1894 at Plum Creek Twp., Armstrong County.
Mrs. Rupp was a member of the Elderton United Presbyterian Church and the Senior Citizen's group.
Surviving are a brother: Glenn Cribbs, Warren, Ohio; two sisters: Mrs. Blaine (Martha) Wood and Mrs. Stanley (Merle) Shaw, both of Elderton; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Miles Rupp, in 1972; a son, David; one sister, Elzora Wood; and one brother, John Cribbs.

1968 - ENOS C. CRIBBS, 81, husband of Edith Balentine Cribbs, of _____ St., Indiana, died early Sunday, May 19, 1968.
A son of Samuel E. and Hannah Jane Dorr Cribbs, he was born June 6, 1886, in West Lebanon.
Mr. Cribbs lived in Armstrong Twp., Indiana County, for some years before moving to Indiana. He was employed by the B & O Railroad Co. as a fireman for many years and in recent years had been an employe of the McCreary Tire and Rubber Co. until his retirement.
He was a member of Calvary United Presbyterian Church; Indiana Lodge 313 F.&A.M.; Coudersport Consistory; William S. Daugherty Royal Arch Chapter 313; the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen and the John M. Leech Bible Class.
In addition to his wife, mentioned above, he is survived by two sisters: Mrs. James (Mabel) Irwin and Mrs. Darry (Annabel) King, both of Indiana; a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received after 7:30 pm today and on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Robinson-Lytle's, Indiana, where the Rev. William S. Merwin, DD, will conduct services on Wednesday at 1:30 pm Interment will be made in the Oakland Cemetery.

The deceased was a daughter of John and Mary (Kilgen) Dorr and was born February 5th, 1859.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and Reverend Harry Burton Boyd, DD, pastor of the church will officiate at the funeral.

Born September 2, 1883 in Clarksburg, Pa., where whe spent her entire life, Miss Cribbs was a member of the Saltsburg Presbyterian Church, OES 286 Saltsburg Chapter and was a retired school teacher, having taught many years in Conemaugh and Young Townships.
Survived by a sister, Miss Mabel Cribbs and a brother John A. Cribbs, both of Clarksburg, Pa.

1979 - JOHN A. CRIBBS, SR., 91, Clarksburg, died Wednesday, April 11, 1979, at Scenery Hill Manor, Indiana.
He was born on July 13, 1887, in Clarksburg, a son of Armour and Ella Marshall Cribbs.
He was a member of the Saltsburg United Presbyterian Church, served as Sunday School superintendant and an elder since 1920, he served for more than 40 years as a member of the Clarksburg-Saltsburg Area and Indiana County School Boards and also served as their secretary.
Survivors include two daughters, Ms. Jessie Mae Cribbs, Greensburg, and Mrs. Herbert (Mary Nell) Pollock, RD 5, Indiana; three sons, Armour F., John A., Jr., both of RD 1, Clarksburg, and C. Clair, Saltsburg; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Sanderson Cribbs on April 11, 1972.

1972 - MRS. JESSIE MAE CRIBBS, 79, of Clarksburg RD 1, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 1972, at Indiana Hospital.
She was born to Frederick H. and Millie Anger Sanderson in Cornish Flat, New Hampshire Sept. 22, 1892. She was a member of its Friendship Class and the Women's Association and was a teacher in the junior department of the church school.
Her early years were spent in New Hampshire and Vermont, later El Paso, Tex., where she was graduated from the School of Nursing of Providence Hospital.
She came to Clarksburg in 1920.
Surviving are her husband, John A. Cribbs, Sr.; two daughters, Mrs. Jessie Mae Beatty and Mrs. Herbert (Mary Nell) Pollock, both of Indiana; three sons, Armour F., and John A. Cribbs Jr., both of RD 1 Clarksburg and C. Clair Cribbs of Saltsburg; a brother, Bernie F. Sanderson in Tulsa, Okla., 17 grandchildren and a great-grandson.

1971 - LYDA MABEL CRIBBS, 78, ____ St., Indiana, died Friday, Aug. 27, 1971 at Indiana Hospital.
A daughter of Armor P. and Ella Marshall Cribbs, whe was born Oct. 13, 1892 in Conemaugh Twp.
Miss Cribbs lived most of her life in the Clarksburg area and for many years taught in the schools of Conemaugh and Young Townships. Later she served as housemother for the Nurse's Home of the Indiana Hospital. She was a member of the Saltsburg United Presbyterian Church, attended the Zion Lutheran Church of Indiana, and was a member of the Huber Bible Class and the Ruth Circle. She was a member of OES Chapter 286, Saltsburg.
Surviving are a brother John A., Clarksburg RD; and a numerous number of nieces and nephews.

1987 - JESSIE MAE CRIBBS, 71, of Clarksburg RD 1 died Monday, Sept. 28, 1987 at Indian Haven, Indiana.
She was born July 23, 1916 in El Paso, Texas, daughter of the late John A. and Jessie Sanderson Cribbs. She was a retired teacher and had taught in the Armstrong County School District for many years. She was a member and elder of Calvary Presbyterian Church, Indiana, past president of its Christian Education Committee and a member of its Women's Association and Chancel Choir.
She also was a member of the New Century Club, Indiana Garden Club, Blairsville Grange and many other civic organizations.
Survivors include three sons, Floyd A. Beatty, Topsham, Maine; Paul R. Beatty, Marion Center and Glenn C. Beatty, Home; four grandchildren; three brothers, Armour, and John A., Jr., both of Clarksburg RD 1 and Clair, Saltsburg; her sister Mrs. Herbert (Mary Nell) Pollock, Indiana RD.
Services were held Thursday at Calvary Church, Dr. Richard D. Adams officiating. Interment followed in Edgewood Cemetery, Saltsburg.
Memorial donations were suggested to the Memorial Fund of Calvary Presbyterian Church, Indiana, Pa. 15701.

She was a daughter of Michael R. and Cindy Deemer Cribbs, Saltsburg.
Surviving are her parents; a sister, Stephanie, at home; maternal grandparents, Dwight and Joyce Deemer, Indiana; paternal grandparents, John and Anna Cribbs, Clarksburg; two great-grandmothers: Mildred Milliron, Santa Ana, Calif., and Pearl Geary, Blairsville.

A daughter of George and Margaret Little Cribbs, she was born June 30, 1898, in South Mahoning Township, Indiana County.
Surviving are two sons, John G., Fairhope, Ohio, and William E., Canton, Ohio; two daughters, Betty Nyland, Canton, Ohio, and Mrs. Wilbert (Jean) Bracken, Malvern, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Cribbs, Plumville and John Cribbs, Belsano; two sisters, Mrs. Jane Adamson, Canton, Ohio, and Mrs. Blanche Nyland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Nyland, Oct. 8, 1937, and two sons, Charles and Robert.

1982 - DANIEL CLYDE CRIBBS, 62, Cleveland, Ohio died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1982, in Huron Road Hospital, Cleveland.
The son of Emma Cooper Cribbs and the late Daniel Cribbs, he was born April 15, 1920, in Conemaugh Township.
Mr. Cribbs was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his mother; one brother, Ralph M., Leechburg; three sisters; Mrs. Wallace (Irene) Shearer, Saltsburg RD1; Mrs. John (Esther) Craig, Shelocta; Mrs. Harry (Annabel) Hopkins, Tidioute.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie McCoy Cribbs, in 1973; his father; two brothers, Albert and Frank.

She was born Aug. 26, 1884, in Clarksburg, the daughter of Harry and Susan Kier Cooper.
She was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church, Clarksburg.
Survivors include: one son, Ralph, Gilpin Twp.; three daughters, Mrs. Wallace (Irene) Shearer, RD 1, Saltsburg, Mrs. John (Esther) Craig, Shelocta, and Mrs. Harry (Annabel) Hopkins, Tidioute; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

1987 - ELVIE RUTH CRIBBS, 75, of ____ St., Derry, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 1987 as the result of a traffic accident.
Mrs. Cribbs was born Dec. 30, 1911 in Reading Mines, daughter of the late John and Elsie Beteleyoun Butts. She was retired manager of the Derry Area School District cafeteria, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Derry and its Golden Circle Sunday School class. She also was a member of the Degree of Honor of Derry and the Derry Golden Agers.
Survivors include her husband C. Mervin; two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Dora Mae) Carrier, Lancaster, Calif. and Marjorie R., at home; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 pm, at McCabe Funeral Home, Derry, where services will be held Friday at 11 am, Dr. Merritt Edner officiating. Interment will follow in Coles Cemetery, Derry.
1989 - RICHARD D. CRIBBS, ____ St., Derry, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 1989. He was born in Derry, a son of the late George I. and Minnie Aljoe Cribbs. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Derry. He was retired after 46 years as a teacher in the Derry Area School District.
He is survived by his wife, Jane McKelvey Cribbs; a daughter, Dr. Joan L. Thiele, Leechburg; a son, Dr. Richard M. Cribbs, Greensburg; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a brother, Robert I. Cribbs, Latrobe.

1990 - ALBERT R. CRIBBS, 94, formerly of ___ Ave., New Kensington, died yesterday (Feb. 14, 1990) at 3:35 am, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Oakland, after a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 6, 1896, in Plumville, came to the A-K area after serving with the Army in World War I.
In the early 1920's Mr. Cribbs, his father and brother built the first home on Vernon Street in the Mount Vernon section of New Kensington.
After retiring in 1962 from Alcoa in New Kensington, he moved to Florida for several years. The last 12 years he made his home with a son, Edward R. Cribbs, in Pittsburgh.
Mr. Cribbs was a former member of the Ar-Ken World War I Barracks and Alcoa 25 Year Club, both in New Kensington.
Survivors, in addition to Edward, include another son, Christopher F. Cribbs of Sandusky, Ohio; two grandchildren; two brothers, Dale Cribbs of Stuart, Fla., and Russell Cribbs of Lower Burrell; and a sister, Mrs. Charlotte Thompson of Clinton, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Christopher and Cora Irene Brewer Cribbs, and his wife, Ethel D. Ormesher Cribbs in 1977.

WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., a Golden Rule Funeral Home, 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a service will be conducted Saturday at noon by the Rev. Mark H. 1967 - CORA IRENE CRIBBS, 89, of ____ St., Aliquippa, died Thursday, Dec. 14, 1967, in the Aliquippa Hospital.
Born Oct. 19, 1878, in Georgeville, she was a daughter of Albert and Catherine Kerr Brewer.
She had lived in Lower Burrell since 1936 and the past 13 years resided in Aliquippa with her daughter.
Surviving are the following children: Reed and Dale, both of Stuart, Fla.; Ben, New Kensington; Max, Norvelt; Russell, Lower Burrell; Mrs. Charlotte Thompson, Clinton, Mich.; Mrs. Harold (Blanche) Daugherty, with whom she made her home in Aliquippa; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Good, Smicksburg; 21 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Christopher Cribbs, preceded her in death in 1952; a son, Roy, was killed in 1945 while serving in World War II, and a daughter, Myrtle, preceded her in death in 1933.
Friends are being received at the Frank F. Gigler Funeral Home, Lower Burrell, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, daily where services will be held Monday at 11 am. with Rev. J. Harry Fisher officiating. Interment will be made in the Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
1945 - KENNETH LEROY CRIBBS, After going overseas last August and participating in campaigns in France, Belgium and Luxembourg, Technician Fifth Grade Kenneth Leroy Cribbs, died at a General Hospital in France. His wife, Mrs. Margaret Cribbs, was notified of his death in a War Department telegram. The official notice gave no details concerning his death, but stated that a letter would follow.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Cribbs, RD No. 1, New Kensington, Pa., T/5 Cribbs entered the service April 7, 1943. He received his training at Camp Mackall, N.C. and Camp Forest, Tenn. >From the latter station he was sent overseas and was based in Enland, prior to going to France. He served with the 17th Airborne Division.
The last letter received from the 29-year old soldier was dated March 6, and stated that he was in the "best of health."
He was a former resident of Indiana, Pa.
Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by a son, Robert; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Daugherty of Aliquippa, and Mrs. Robert Thompson of Clymer; five brothers, Reed of New Kensington; Dale of Indiana; Max and Ben of Greensburg, and Sgt. Russell, now stationed in England.
1932 - SAMUEL E. CRIBBS, The county was saddened to learn Saturday morning of the death of Samuel E. Cribbs, 77, who passed away in his late home 1445 Philadelphia street at 4:40 o'clock A.M. Death resulted from complications following an ailment from which he had suffered for a long period.
Samuel E. Cribbs was the son of Joseph and Jeannetta (McQuiston) Cribbs, both deceased, and was born in Armstrong township, Aug. 7, 1855. While successfully following the occupation of a farmer, Mr. Cribbs resided in the Cribbs' homestead, Armstrong township, until 18 years ago, when he moved to his late home in Indiana. Until recently he was an exceptionally active man for one his age and almost every day he spent a part of his time assisting with the work on his son John's dairy farm in Armstrong township.
On account of his honesty, his friendly personality and his unselfish consideration of others, Mr. Cribbs was regarded as one of the most substantial citizens of the community, being held in high esteem by a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. He leaves many friends who mourn his passing. Mr. Cribbs was a devout member and regular attendant of the Curry Run Presbyterian Church and attended the First Presbyterian Church here since he moved to Indiana.
1981 - ALBERT P. CRIBBS, 71, of Mounted Route 1 Saltsburg, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 1981, at the Latrobe Area Hospital.
A son of Daniel D. and Emma (Cooper) Cribbs, he was born April 5, 1910, in Apollo.
Mr. Cribbs was a member of the Saltsburg United Presbyterian Church. He had lived most of his life in the Elders Ridge and Saltsburg areas and had been associated with Federal Laboratories for 34 years before his retirement.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Robinson Cribbs; two sons; Thomas D., Saltsburg; A. Allen, West Lebanon; two grandchildren; his mother, Indiana; two brothers; Clyde D., Cleveland, Ohio; Ralph M., Leechburg; three sisters; Mrs. Wallace (Irene) Shearer, Saltsburg RD 1; Mrs. John (Esther) Craig, Shelocta; Mrs. Harry (Annabel) Hopkins, Tidioute.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank.
Friends were received at the Robinson-Lytle Funeral Home where services were held Tuesday, Nov. 10.
The Rev. David R. Ulrich officiated with interment in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
1963 - DANIEL D. CRIBBS, of Saltsburg, RD 1, near West Lebanon, passed away Monday, October 21, 1963, at his home. Born in Young Township on November 13, 1883, he was the son of B. Franklin and Emma Ferguson Cribbs. He was a member of the Clarksburg Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Emma Cooper Cribbs; four sons, Albert P., Saltsburg, RD 1; Frank, Star Route, Spring Church; Clyde, Cleveland, Ohio; Ralph, Leechburg, RD 1; three daughters, Mrs. Wallace (Irene) Shearer, Saltsburg, RD 1; Mrs. John (Esther) Craig, Shelocta; Mrs. Harry (Annazelle Lowman) Hopkins, of Tidioute; one sister, Mrs. Annie Lowman, El Paso, Texas; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Hunter Funeral Home in Saltsburg on Thursday afternoon with the Rev. Robert Jansen officiating. Interment followed in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
1931 - WILLIAM W. CRIBBS, aged 58 years, a life-long and well-known resident of the Clarksburg community, was suddenly summoned by death on Sunday. Stricken suddenly ill while returning home from services at the Clarksburg Presbyterian Church that day he was rushed to the Indiana hospital where he expired just as he was being admitted to the institution. The deceased, who was born December 20, 1872, was a son of B. F. and Emma (Ferguson) Cribbs. He was one of the substantial citizens of Clarksburg and held membership with the Clarksburg Presbyterian church, where the funeral services will be conducted this afternoon by his pastor, Rev. J. V. Mountain, followed by interment in the Oakland Cemetery, of town. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mary (Hart) Cribbs, and three daughters, Lois, Martha, and Lillian, all residing at home; also these brothers and sisters; D. D. Cribbs and Mrs. Minta McPhilimy, of Clarksburg; Mrs. Clyde Henry, of near Jacksonville; Mrs. Gertrude Hart, of Lakeland, Florida, and Mrs. Annie Lowman, of El Paso, Texas.
1988 - LOIS CRIBBS BROWN, 76, of _____ St., Indiana, died Saturday, March 5, 1988, at her home.
A daughter of William W. and May Belle Hart Cribbs, she was born Feb. 11, 1912, in Clarksburg.
Mrs. Brown was a member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church of Indiana, where she was a Deacon, co-chairperson of the Agape Group and active in the Women's Association; active member and chairman of the Pennsylvania Nurses Association.
A resident of Indiana for many years, she was a graduate of the Indiana Hospital School of Nursing and worked there for a short time. She had been employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health for 25 years as a Public Health Nurse for Indiana County.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. John (Joan) Graham, Watsontown; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Lillian) Patriquin, Calumet City, Ill.; also several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence Ord Brown in 1962; a sister, Mrs. Herbert (Martha) Henry in 1973.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Tuesday at Robinson-Lytle's, Indiana, where services will be held at 11 am. Wednesday with the Rev. Dr. Richard D. Adams, Rev. Elizabeth Rogers and Rev. Dr. John W. Graham, officiating. Interment will be in the Marion Center Cemetery.

1983 - WILLIAM W. CRIBBS, 66, of Lincoln Ave., McMurtry Towers, Vandergrift, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 1983, in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights.
A son of Wilson H. and Lillian Walker Cribbs, he was born July 26, 1916, in Aliquippa.
Mr. Cribbs was a member of the First Baptist Church, Vandergrift, serving as a trustee. He was a social member of the VFW and Firemen's Club, both of Vandergrift.
A resident of the Vandergrift area most of his life, he was employed by Wayne United of Vandergrift in the machine shop prior to his retirement in 1973.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred Williams Cribbs; a son Robert, Apollo; two daughters, Mrs. James (Barbara) Riggle, Vandergrift; Mrs. Wayne (Sandra) Lafferty, Smithsburg, Md.; ten grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. William (Jane) George, Derry; three brothers: Paul, Apollo; Milton and James, of Blairsville; several nieces and nephews.

1926 - CHARLES STEWART CRIBBS, Saturday, February 13, 1926, occurred the death of Charles Stewart Cribbs, the only son of Rev. and Mrs. C. C. Cribbs, of Ingram, aged nearly eight months.
Funeral services were held Sabbath afternoon at 3:30 conducted by Dr. Kelso and assisted by several other ministers. Besides the parents three sisters survive. Interment in Greenwood cemetery, Indiana, Monday. Rev. Cribbs was a former pastor of the local Presbyterian Church and he and family have the sympathy of the entire community in their great loss.
1973 - MRS. CECIL STEWART CRIBBS, 84, ____ St., Jacksonville, Fla., died Thursday, July 5, 1973 at Jacksonville.
A daughter of Robert W. and Anna Rasely Stewart, she was born July 21, 1888 at Renfrew, Pa.
Mrs. Cribbs was the widow of the Rev. Charles C. Cribbs, DD, who was a native of the Clarksburg area.
Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Mary C. Pyle, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Marjorie C. Peterson, Jacksonville, Fla.; Mrs. Mildred C. Kinarr, Butler; one sister, Mrs. Thomas Watson, New Castle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Charles C. Cribbs, DD, in 1948.
Friends will be received Sunday afternoon at Robinson-Lytle's Indiana, where services will be held Monday at 11 am. with Rev. Richard L. Cassel officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.

1922 - ARMOR CRIBBS, Pneumonia following an attack of influenza, caused the death of Armor Cribbs, aged 71 years, at his home near Clarksburg, Conemaugh township, on March 11th. He was a progressive, intelligent farmer and stock raiser and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ella Marshall Cribbs, two sons, Rev. Charles Cribbs, of Apollo and John Cribbs, of Clarksburg, also two daughters, Misses Cynthia and Mabel at home. A sister, Mrs. Rebecca Millin [Mullen], of Apollo also survives him. Funeral services were held at his late home on Tuesday forenoon and interment made in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.

1923 - MRS. ELLA MARSHALL CRIBBS, died at her home in Clarksburg, Indiana county, on Friday, Sept. 7, 1923, at 2:00 pm. Mrs. Cribbs was a daughter of William C. and Esther Marshall, and was born in the Old Stone House in Clarksburg, Jan. 28, 1858. She became a member of the Clarksburg Presbyterian church when but a little girl and continued a faithful member of this same church until the time of her death. Her death was a shock to the entire community for her illness was of such short duration.
She leaves one brother, Theodore Marshall of Clarksburg, and four children, two sons and two daughters, John A. Cribbs, Miss Cynthia Cribbs and Miss Mabel Cribbs of Clarksburg, and Rev. Charles C. Cribbs, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Apollo.
The funeral service was held on Monday, Sept. 10, at 10:00 am. conducted by her pastor, the Rev. J. Wallace Frazer, assisted by the Rev. George M. Ryall, DD, of Saltsburg. The interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana, Pa.
UNKNOWN DATE - REBECCA JANE CRIBBS MULLEN, On Saturday morning, April 25, Rebecca Jane Cribbs Mullen, born near Blairsville, Indiana County, February 11, 1835, parted the veils of night and entered into a new and more glorious day. She was married on May 8, 1855 to William Mullen who with a son and a daughter preceded her to the better land. She is survived at home by her daughter, Agnes and niece, Amy; also by one son, John M., of Bellevue; one granddaughter, Mrs. L. D. Rufer; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at her home Tuesday at 10:00 o'clock am., by her pastor, Rev. W. E. E. Barcus, assisted by Rev. George Grant, of Pittsburgh. Interment at Indiana. She was a lover of the beautiful and to her there was beauty in all of God's handiwork. 1975 - MARION M. CRIBBS, 60, of Hurst, Texas, formerly of Black Lick, died Wednesday, April 30, 1975 at his late residence.
A son of Ralph H. and Celia Gehring Cribbs, he was born Aug. 9, 1914 at Black Lick.
Surviving are his mother, Celia Gehring Cribbs, Black Lick; two brothers; Ralph Ben Cribbs, Black Lick; Dr. William D. Cribbs, Newtown; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph H. Cribbs in November, 1956, and a brother, Robert G. Cribbs in December, 1957.

1918 - JACOB A. CRIBBS, killed. Struck By Train On P.R.R. Near Blacklick Monday About Noon. April 1918. The mutilated body of Jacob Cribbs, of Blacklick, aged 83 years, was found on Monday about noon, by a trackwalker, lying beside the track of the Indiana Branch of the P.R.R., opposite the farm of Gil. Devinney, below Blacklick.
Cribbs home is at Blacklick and how he came to be walking on the track at that time of the day is not known. It is not known what train hit Cribbs, who was a Civil war veteran and a well known citizen of that vicinity.

A daughter of Peter and Mary Martini Gehring, she was born Oct. 17, 1894 in Mifflin Township, Allegheny County.
Mrs. Cribbs was the former owner of Cribbs Rest Home, Black Lick.

1956 - RALPH HERBERT CRIBBS, a retired moulder, of Black Lick, died in Philadelphia Sunday, November 4. He was born in Black Lick, July 20, 1889, a son of C. Marion and Catherine Metz Cribbs. Surviving are: His wife, Celia Gehring Cribbs of Black Lick; four sons, Marion M., Ralph B. and William E., all of Black Lick; Robert G., Johnstown; five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Charles Capen, Indiana.
Friends will be received at the Ferguson Funeral Home, Blairsville, after 7:00 pm. today. Services will be conducted from the funeral home Thursday, November 8, at 2:30 pm. with interment following in Blairsville Cemetery.
1944 - MRS. OLLA CRIBBS BAKER, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. June Nesbit, 325 North Morrow street, Blairsville, October 22, at 5:30 o'clock. Mrs. Baker was born in Blairsville, January 25, 1871, a daughter of Joseph M. and Nancy Barr Cribbs. Her husband, A. McKinnie Baker, died several years ago.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Nesbit, one aunt, Mrs. J. P. Barr of Blairsville and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2:30 o'clock from the Nesbit home, in charge of the Rev. J. C. Stuart, DD. Burial will follow in the Blairsville cemetery.
1897 - GEORGE ELLSWORTH CRIBBS, Last December (1896) George Cribbs who resided near Dixonville, met with an accident while digging coal by which his back was broken. Ever since that time he was unable to walk and his suffering was intense, despite the effort of medical aid to alleviate it. Death came as a welcome relief, Tuesday at noon, October 26th. He was aged about 30 years and is survived by a wife and two childen. Funeral services were held Thursday, October 28, 1897. Interment was made in Ruffner Cemetery.
1910 - HARRY CRIBBS, a well known and highly respected citizen of Jacksonvlle died at his home there on Wednesday evening, August 17 at 7 o'clock after a long illness. He was aged about 50 years. He is survived by his wife and nine children as follows: Mrs. William Fleming, Conemaugh township; Mrs. John Gamble and Mrs. Alexander Douds, of Young township; Mrs. E. K. O'Neil and Mrs. J. M. Ferguson, of Jacksonville; Miss Mabel at home, and Lee, Pearl, and Harry, of this place. The deceased was a member of the Jacksonville Presbyterian Church. The funeral was held Friday with interment in Bellevue Cemetery, near Jacksonville.
1910 - CLAIR MCKENZIE CRIBBS, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Cribbs, of North Vandergrift aged two months and 22 days died Saturday, July 23, of whooping cough. Funeral service was held at the residence Sunday at 4:30 pm. conducted by Rev. W. S. Dysinger. Interment in Vandergrift Cemetery. This makes the second death in the family within the past week, the previous death being a daughter Laura Virginia Cribbs, aged 14 months.
1974 - HARRY M. CRIBBS, 72, _____ Ave., Vandergrift, died at approximately 8:30 am. on Saturday, Sept. 7, in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights.
He was born on June 30, 1902, in Vandergrift, a son of Lee and Elizabeth Jewell Cribbs.
He had lived in Vandergrift all of his life and was associated with the First Federal Savings and Loan Assn., Carnegie, for 18 years prior to retirement in 1970.
He was a member of the Vandergrift First Lutheran Church, the F.&A.M. Lodge 617 of Vandergrift, the Scottish Rites of Pittsburgh, the Cyrus Royal Arch 280 of Carnegie, the Chartiers Commandery 78 of the Knights Templar of Carnegie, and a life member of the Carnegie Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia McLaughlin Cribbs; one granddaughter, Kelly Ann, Leechburg; a brother, William L. Cribbs, Leechburg; a sister, Mrs. Zelda Vietch, Vandergrift.
He was preceded in death by a son, William, in November of 1970.

1985 - CLOUD M. CRIBBS, 85, of 5 Mahoning Rd., Home, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 1985, in the Indiana Hospital.
A son of James and Mary Elizabeth McKee Cribbs, he was born June 12, 1900, in Plumville.
Mr. Cribbs was a self-employed dairy farmer most of his life, retiring five years ago.
Surviving are a son, Clair C., Home, with whom he made his home; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers: James and Walter, both of Home RD 1.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Mae Lukehart Cribbs in 1973; his parents; two sisters, Elsie, in infancy, and Alverta Parsons.
Friends will be received from 7-9 pm. Friday in the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Plumville, where services will be held at 11 am. Saturday. Rev. Dewey Griffith will officiate with interment in the Marion Center Cemetery.
1898 - FRANK G. CRIBBS, died at the residence of his mother, Mrs. Euphemia Cribbs, of Bairdstown, on Sunday morning, after a lingering illness from consumption, at the age of 25 years. The funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at 2. The interment was made in the Blairsville cemetery. (4-24-1898)
1897 - MRS. NANCY CRIBBS, died at the home of her son, Armour, in Young township, on Monday afternoon at the age of 84 years. She is survived by two sons, Armour and Frank, and a daughter, Mrs. Rebecca Mullen, of Apollo. The funeral services will be held this afternoon at 1. (12-6-1897)
1900 - MRS. JEANNETTE CRIBBS, died at the home of her son-in-law, Mr. Johnston, of Armstrong township, on Saturday morning. The deceased was aged about 85 years, and her death was caused by general debility. She is survived by five sons, four daughters, 49 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. The funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at 1, by her pastor, Rev. W. J. Wilson. Interment was made in the Curry Run graveyard. (5-19-1900).
1907 - MRS. MARIA CRIBBS, wife of Milton Cribbs, died Sunday night at her home in Blairsville, aged about 45 years. The deceased was the only child of William I. Work, of East Mahoning township. She is survived by her father, her husband and five childen, four sons and one daughter. (5-12-1907).
1899 - CALVIN CRIBBS, son of Mr. and Mrs. S.. S. Cribbs, of Blairsville, died on Tuesday evening of last week, of diphtheretic croup, at the age of about 15 years. The funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon at 2. Interment was made in Blairsville cemetery. (10-31-1899).
1992 - ROY BERNARD CRIBBS, 54, Bensalem, died Oct. 5, 1992, at Frankford Hospital, Philadelphia.
The son of James and Blanche Donahue Cribbs, he was born Aug. 6, 1938, in Willet.
Mr. Cribbs was a race car enthusiast, and had been employed by the Invalid Coach Service, Lawrenceville, N.J.
Surviving are his wife, Sally Bartok Cribbs; one daughter, Kathleen, at home; two brothers, Floyd and David, both of Creekside; and four sisters: Ruby Houck, Cherryhill, N.J.; Pearl Fowler, Maryland; Ruth Harpster, Richmond, Va.; and Alice McEntire, NuMine.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private funeral services were held at the James O. Bradley Funeral Home, Penndel.
