Ada Pearl Ramsey
Ada Pearl Smith Ramsey, 91, of Beckley, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 1998, in a Beckley hospital following a sudden illness.
Born March 1, 1907, at Red Springs, she was the daughter of the late Silas and Susan Cross Smith.
Mrs. Ramsey was a homemaker. She enjoyed attending flea markets and yard sales.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sebert Ramsey; several brothers and sisters and three sons, Roy, James and Alfred Ramsey.
Survivors include two sons, Toby Ramsey and wife, Donna, of Piney View and Tex Ramsey and wife, Francis, of Oak Hill; five daughters, Magaline Goins of Piney View, Marie McClanahan and husband, Tommy, of Lake Forest, Ill., Thelma Davis and husband, Bob, of Tennessee, Peggy McDaniels and husband, Carl, of Tennessee and Sue Bzyczenski and husband, Bob, of Peoria, Ill.; two sisters, Lena Fox of Crickmer and Delores Adkins of Red Springs; 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and three great-great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Beckley with the Rev. Fred Dinkler officiating. Burial will follow in the Ennis Cemetery, Red Springs.
Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Delores J. Ramsey
Delores Jean Ramsey, 62, of Charleston died Thursday, July 2, 1998, in CAMC, Memorial Division, after a short illness.
She was a retired registered nurse with 20 years of service at CAMC, Memorial Division.
Surviving: husband, Dorsey Ramsey; sons, Steven E. and Richard R. Ramsey of Charlotte, N.C.; daughter, Debra Cummings of Huntington; sisters, Betty Carson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Ruth Cooper of Cross Lanes; brother, Jimmy Boggess of Santa Barbara, Calif.; grandchildren, Christopher Cummings of Huntington, Brett and Stacie Ramsey of Charlotte.
Service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Wilson Funeral Home, Charleston, with the Rev. Harold B. White officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.

RIPLEY -- Doyle "Pat" Guy Ramsey, 86, of Ripley died Sunday, Aug. 16, 1998, in Jackson General Hospital after a short illness.
He was a retired construction worker, lifelong resident of Ripley, a member of Ripley Senior Citizens, a Christian, and a caretaker at Pine Hill Cemetery.
Surviving: sons, Cecil and Harold of Parkersburg, Allen of Ravenswood, Cleland of Charlotte, N.C.; daughters, Hattie Marie Stewart and Faye Hart of Ripley, Patty Robinson of Belpre, Ohio, Joan Eaton of Lake Wylie, S.C., Dorothy Skeen of Charlotte, N.C., Elsie Davis of Mount Airey, Ga.; brother, Curtis Ramsey of Ripley; sister, Wanda Burton of Vienna; grandson whom he raised, Russell Ramsey of Columbus, Ohio; 29 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Vail Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor Sinnett Summers and the Rev. John Longfellow officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley.

Ethel I. Ramsey
RONCEVERTE -- Ethel Irene Ramsey, 98, died Monday, Nov. 10, 1997, in a Fairlea medical center following a long illness. Born April 20, 1899, at Ronceverte, she was the daughter of the late William and Rosa King Bowden. Mrs. Ramsey was a lifelong resident of Ronceverte, was a member of the Ronceverte Christian Church and was retired from Mountain State Poultry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred J. Ramsey; and a son, Grover Ramsey. Survivors include three daughters, Maxine Bevers, Betty Waugh and Mary Hurd, all of Ronceverte; three sons, Julian "Pat" Ramsey of Sinks Grove, Elbert Ramsey of Beulaville, N.C., and Chris Ramsey of Ronceverte; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel, Ronceverte, with Pastor Ed Fernandez officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Organ Cave. Friends may call 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home, Ronceverte. Margery N. (Stephens) Ramsey, 76, Raytown, MO, passed away February 12, 1998, at her home, after a brief illness. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 18, at the Blackman Chapel. Until recently, she worked at the Log Cabin, an antique store in Lone Jack, MO. Prior to her illness, Mrs. Ramsey was active in her church, Unity School of Christianity, Unity Village, completing several credit courses. She was preceded in death by her beloved aunt, Viola Pearl Boyle, in 1997, who raised her from childhood. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Lloyd E. Ramsey, of the home; her children and their spouses, Steve & Pat Ramsey, Blue Springs, MO, Marci & Ken Shields, Lenexa, KS, Warren & Ellen Ramsey, Raytown, MO, Roger Ramsey, Raytown, and Lea Ann Parsons, Colorado Springs, CO; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Willie Ramsey Jr.
Willie "Big Jr." Ramsey Jr., 69, died June 25 at Candler Hospital.
Ramsey, whose other nickname was "Tim Riley," was born in Savannah. He was a construction worker with Local No. 896.
