Montgomery Creek - Graveside services for Michael Theodore Eaken, 17, of Redding, will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Halcumb Cemetery in Montgomery Creek.
The Rev. Dave McMartin will officiate.
Mr. Eaken died Thursday, after he was struck by a train south of Redding.
He was born January 26, 1965, in Munich, Germany, and moved to Shasta County in 1968.
He was a Junior at Shasta High School.
He is survived by parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Eaken; sisters, Cynthia, Marsha, and Mary, all of Redding; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Warman, Sr. of Reno, NV.
Thelma (Brawner) Collum
1917 - 1972

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m., at McDonald's Redding Chapel, for Mrs. Thelma V. Collum, 55, of Project City.
Mrs. Collum was killed Thursday when struck by a car as she walked across Shasta Dam Boulevard in Central Valley, with Mrs. Betty R. Cain, who was also fatally injured in the accident.
The Rev. John Wilson will officiate in the funeral Services.
Burial will be in Redding cemetery.
Mrs. Collum was born in Texas, and had lived in Shasta County 30 years.
She leaves her husband, Anderson E. Collum, of Project City; a son, Reuben Collum of Anaheim; four daughters, Mrs. Betty Leslie of Redding, Mrs. Mary A. Williamson and Mrs. Nora Duffy, both of Flippin, Ark., and Mrs. Viola Patton also of Arkansas.
There are 13 grandchildren.

William Elijah Howe
1833 - 1896
Howe - In Alturas, Jan. 4, 1896, W. E. Howe, aged 62 years, 7 mos, and 18 days.
Deceased was born in the city of Ottawa, Canada, in 1833 and came to the state of Iowa, when he was 16 years of age.
In the year of 1852, he came to the Pacific Coast and has resided in Oregon, and California, since that time.
The past 16 or 17 years of his life have been spent mostly in Modoc County, and he was well-known throughout the county.
He has lived a consistent Christian life and has devoted much of his time to preaching the gospel from a Baptist standpoint.
Ill health came on him some five years ago, since which time he has had a hard struggle for a livelihood.
He leaves a loving wife and five children here and several grown-up sons and daughters in California, and Oregon, to mourn his loss, and the bereaved family have the sympathy of this entire neighborhood in their great sorrow.
The remains were interred in the cemetery here last Sunday with appropriate ceremonies conducted by Rev. Walter and a large congregation attended the funeral.
Cora (Seaton) Howe

Funeral services for Cora May Howe, 84, of Medford, Oregon, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Halcumb Cemetery Chapel here.
Mrs. Howe died Friday in Oregon.
She was born in Washington, May 10, 1893.
A resident of Shasta County for 31 years, Mrs. Howe moved to Medford, OR, six months ago, to live with a daughter.
She was a member of the Pentecostal Church.
She leaves three daughters, Ruth Henderson of Medford, OR; Audrey Baker of Redding; and Carrie DeCamp of Palermo; three sons, William Wallace Howe of Montague; John Cal Howe of Junction City; and James H. Howe of Mountain Gate; 24 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
The Rev. David Sims will officiate at the services and interment will follow in the Halcumb Cemetery.
Audrey (Howe) Baker
1925 - 1986

Graveside services for former Shasta County resident Audrey Baker, 61, of Oroville, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Holcumb Cemetery in Montgomery Creek.
Mrs. Baker's brother-in-law, the Rev. Virgil Henderson of the Foursquare Church in Corning will officiate.
She died Friday at Oroville Hospital.
Born November 23, 1925, in Modoc County, she lived in Shasta County, for many years before moving to Oroville, 16 months ago.
She was a housekeeper for 14 1/2 years at Shasta General Hospital in Redding.
She is survived by sons, Darrell of Redding and Jess of Oroville; daughter, Audrey Willburn of Anderson; sisters, Ruth Henderson of Orland, Carrie DeCamp of Palermo; brothers, Jim Howe and John Howe, both of Palermo; and Bill Howe of Lake Bay, Washington; and 12 grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society of Redding, CA.
George Wilson

Services for George Wilson, 50, of Redding will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Halcumb Cemetery Chapel in Montgomery Creek.
The Rev. Roy Nelson will officiate.
Burial will be at Halcumb Cemetery.
Mr. Wilson died Friday at Mt. Shasta Community Hospital.
Born April 13, 1936 in Redding, Mr. Wilson has spent his life in Shasta County.
He was a car skinner for 35 years; his last employer was the Creek Logging Co. in Shasta county.
He is survived by wife, Harlyne; daughters, Tammy Wilson of Redding and Tina Wilson of Ukiah; sons, Terry of Redding, George Jr. of Montague, and Gerald of Fort Jones; sisters, Lillie Potter of Redding and Amy Burns of Central Valley; brothers, Tim and Jim, both of Redding, Bob of Sacramento, and Walter of Berkeley; mother, Mabel Wilson of Redding; and 11 grandchildren.

Montgomery Creek - Graveside services for Jess Baker, 87, of Redding, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Halcomb Cemetery here.

Visitation began at noon today at McDonald's Chapel.
Mr. Baker died Friday at Memorial Hospital in Redding.
Born July 10, 1895 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Mr. Baker moved to Shasta County, in 1948.
He was a ranch worker for Iron Canyon Ranch.
He is survived by wife, Audrey; daughter, Audrey Willburn of Anderson; sons, Jess of Anderson and Darrell of Los Angeles; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Buried April 5, 1983.
Washington Howe
1864 - 1949
Washington Lincoln Howe, 84, native of Oregon, and resident of this community for 60 years, died Saturday at a local hospital.
He had been in and out of the hospital in recent months, entering for the last time a week ago.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Fickert's chapel, followed by interment at Oak Hill.
Rev. William V. Barney of Christian Church will officiate.
The deceased is survived by his two sons, Harold Howe of Red Bluff, Clarence Howe of Chico, a daughter, Mrs. Doris Parson of Sacramento, and a step-son, Roy Howe of Keswick.

Pondosa - An 18-year-old Pondosa girl apparently hanged herself Friday, the Siskiyou County Coroner's Office says. Officers said Bonnie Bell Elwood was found dead in her home in Pondosa.
Miss Elwood was born November 6, 1950 in Redding.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Halcumb Cemetery near Montgomery Creek, under direction of McDonald's Redding Chapel.
The Rev. David Sims will officiate.
Miss Elwood leaves a daughter, Chere, of Pondosa; her parents, Mrs. Carrie DeCamp of Prineville, OR, and Clinton Elwood of Redding, CA; five brothers, Spec. 4 Clayton Elwood of the U.S. Army, Denny DeCamp of Pondosa, Larry DeCamp and Douglas Colburn of Redding, and John Colburn of Texline, TX; four sisters, Mrs. Carolyn Jones of Eureka, CA, Miss Christi DeCamp, of Winston, OR, Mrs. Peggy McGee, and Mrs. Athlee Colburn of Nogoma, WA.
She leaves her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Howe of Anderson, CA; and her paternal grandparents, Francis Elwood of Bella Vista, CA; and her step-grandmother, Mrs. Mabel DeCamp of Pondosa.
Betty Ruth (Parker) Cain

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in McDonald's Redding Chapel for Mrs. Betty Ruth Cain, 70, of Cottonwood.
The California Highway Patrol said Mrs. Cain was fatally injured at 12:45 p.m. Thursday when she was struck by a car while walking across Shasta Dam Boulevard in Central Valley with Mrs. Thelma Collum, 55, of Project City, who was also killed.
Mrs. Cain died at Memorial Hospital at 6:18 p.m. Thursday.
Mrs. Collum was dead on arrival at the hospital.
Misdemeanor manslaughter charges have been filed against the alleged driver of the car, identified by the CHP as Solano County Supervisor Daniel Albert Mazzoni, 44, of Vallejo.
The Rev. Claude Porter will officiate the funeral services.
Burial will be in the Lawncrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Cain was born in Tennessee, and had lived in Shasta County 30 years.
She leaves two sons, Wiley Cain of Union Town, Ark., and Bennie Cain of Cottonwood; two step-sons, R. D. Cain of Moore, Okla., and Henry Cain, also of Oklahoma; a daughter, Mrs. Oleta Watkins of Omak, Wash., and a step-daughter, Mrs. Nettie Crawford of Maud, Okla. .
