ANTHONY R. AVELLA, 41, of North Bergen died Sunday. He had been a floral designer for Artiste Florist, North Bergen. Arrangements: Vainieri Funeral Home, North Bergen.

LOUIS A. BARTMAN, 90, of Fair Lawn died Thursday. Before retiring in 1973, he was a payroll clerk for Bendix Corp., Teterboro, where he worked for 35 years and was a member of the United Auto Workers union. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph R.C. Church, Passaic. Arrangements: Kamienski Funeral Home, Wallington.

HENRY E. BORKOWSKI, 79, of Little Falls died Saturday. Before retiring in 1987, he was a printer for the Jersey Journal, Jersey City, where he worked for 30 years. He also had owned Norge Laundromat, Little Falls. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6255, Cedar Grove. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph R.C. Church, Passaic. Arrangements: Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, Little Falls.

WILLIAM S. BOUFFORD, 59, of Surfside Beach, S.C., formerly of Hillsdale and Waldwick, died Friday. Before retiring last year, he was an accountant for Cytec Industries, West Paterson. Arrangements: M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains.

nils v. carlson, 73, of North Cape May, formerly of Edgewater, died Saturday. He had been a dock builder and carpenter and was a life member of Dockbuilders Union 1456. He was Marine Corps veteran and a member of American Legion Post 116, Edgewater. Arrangements: Blackley Funeral Home, Ridgefield.

JOSEPH J. CELENZA, 88, of Fair Lawn died Saturday. Before retiring, he was a safety instructor for the Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority, New York City. He was a parishioner of St. Anne R.C. Church, Fair Lawn. Arrangements: Vander Plaat Memorial Home, Paramus.

ANNIE DEIRKRKORIAN, 15, of Cliffside Park died Friday. She was a ninth-grade student at Cliffside Park High School. Arrangements: A. & K. Macagna Funeral Home, Cliffside Park.

WALTER J. DIERCKS, 75, of Branchville, formerly of Wood-Ridge, died Saturday. He had been an assistant vice president of Howard Savings Bank, Livingston. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Hasbrouck Heights. He was past treasurer of the Ridgefield Rotary Club. Arrangements: Blackley Funeral Home, Ridgefield.

MARGARET MacDONALD DOIDGE, 93, of Ridgefield died Saturday. She was a member of Bergen Boulevard Reformed Church, the English Neighborhood Reformed Church, the Fire Department Auxiliary, the Seniors, and the Republican Club, all in Ridgefield. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross. Arrangements: Blackley Funeral Home, Ridgefield.

HENRY C. FILA SR., 71, of Boonton died Friday. Before retiring in 1990, he owned Fila's Market, Garfield, for 40 years. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post 155, Whippany. He was a charter member of the Jaycees and was a member and past president of the Jinx Athletic Club, both in Garfield. He was a member of the Polish National Alliance, Brooklyn, the Association Sons of Poland, Carlstadt, and the Polish Club, Whippany. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church, Boonton, and a member of its Polkamaniacs. Arrangements: Lewis and Carey, Directors of Funerals, Boonton.

PATRICIA A. McKEEVER FISHER, 65, of Ramsey, formerly of Butler, died Sunday. She was a parishioner of St. Paul R.C. Church, Ramsey. Arrangements: Van Emburgh-Sneider Funeral Home, Ramsey.

HELEN GORSKA FRANK, 87, of Wharton, formerly of Jersey City, died Saturday. Before retiring in 1973, she was a waitress for 43 years at Liss #####, Jersey City, and Bergenline Restaurant, Union City. Arrangements: Par-Troy Funeral Home, Parsippany.

MARGARET WISE GOODMAN, 88, of Englewood died Saturday. She was a 53-year member of First Baptist Church, Englewood, and a member of its Missionary Board and Women's Club. She also was a member of the International Ministers Wives and Widows Association, for which she had served as state president and regional vice president. She was a member of the Englewood Chapter of the American Red Cross and a former member of the Urban League Guild of Bergen County. Arrangements: Nesbitt Funeral Home, Englewood.

SARAH C. STERLING GOULD-HEALD, 98, of Seaside Park, formerly of Haledon, died Sunday. Before retiring in 1978, she was a bookkeeper for Tree Tavern Restaurant Products, Paterson, where she worked for 15 years. She was a member of the National Secretaries Association. She was a parishioner of St. Paul R.C. Church, Prospect Park, and was past president of its Rosary Society. Arrangements: Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, Hawthorne.

ANNA SEADER HEITMANN, 80, of Rutherford, formerly of Hoboken, died Saturday. She had worked for Western Electric Co. in Kearny. She was a parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul R.C. Church, Hoboken. She had been a Brownie troop leader. Arrangements: Macagna-Diffily Funeral Home, Rutherford.

LORRAINE M. HOMEY, 69, of Riverdale, formerly of Fair Lawn, died Saturday. Arrangements: M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains.

JOHN J. JENNINGS SR., 69, of Wanaque died Saturday. Before retiring in 1997, he worked for the Passaic County Utilities Authority, Paterson, for 10 years. More recently, he was a security guard for Passaic County Community College. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Bloomingdale, and the American Legion, Butler. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony R.C. Church, Butler. Arrangements: D'Agostino Funeral Home, Wanaque.

PHILIP B. JORDAIN, 83, of Teaneck died Sunday. He was born in France. Before retiring, he was an assistant vice president in the computer division of Citibank. He had previously worked for Mobil Oil Corp. He served in the French Army during World War II and was a prisoner of war. He was a graduate of Columbia University. He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church and the Ecumenical Bible Study Group, both in Teaneck. Arrangements: Volk-Leber Funeral Home, Teaneck.

ANNE R. "JEANNE" JONES LEMCHAK, 66, of Wayne died Saturday. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church, Wayne, and a member of its Amity Club. Arrangements: Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, Wayne.

KARSTEN "CASS" LUHMANN, 90, of Toms River, formerly of Bergenfield and Westwood, died Friday. He was born in Germany and came to the United States in 1929. Before retiring, he owned Luhmann's Home-Made Ice Cream and Candy, Bergenfield, for 25 years. He was a member of the Elks. Arrangements: Timothy E. Ryan Funeral Home, Toms River.

JOSEPHINE BERNAT NIZIOL, 88, of Wallington died Saturday. She was a former director of the Passaic Polish Peoples Home. She was a parishioner of Most Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church, Wallington. Arrangements: Kamienski Funeral Home, Wallington.

WILLIAM T. REIDY, 81, of Tinton Falls, formerly of Hillsdale, died Sunday. He had owned Homeowners Hardware, Montvale. Previously, he was vice president of Worthington Pump International. He was a graduate of Siena College, Loudonville, N.Y. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Hillsdale. Arrangements: Woolley Funeral Home, Long Branch.

DOROTHY E. FIORITTO RIFFEL, 61, of Hamburg, formerly of Haledon, died Saturday. Arrangements: DeLuccia-Lozito Funeral Home, Haledon.

ARTHUR J. SNYDER, 71, of Paramus, formerly of Oradell, died Saturday. He had owned a floor-covering subcontracting business. He was a member of the Bergen and Passaic County Bowling Hall of Fame. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Visitation R.C. Church, Paramus. Arrangements: Volk-Leber Funeral Home, Oradell.

MARIE TEDESCO, 76, of Wayne, formerly of Little Falls, died Saturday. Before retiring in 1990, she worked for Litton Industries, Wayne, and previously for Du Pont Co., Pompton Lakes. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Valley R.C. Church, Wayne, and a volunteer at Holy Angels R.C. Church, Little Falls. Arrangements: D'Agostino Funeral Home, Wanaque.

ELIZABETH N. YOUNG, 90, of Demarest died Sunday. Before retiring in 1969, she was a secretary for Union Carbide Corp., New York City, where she worked for 25 years. She was a Navy veteran of World War II. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph R.C. Church, Demarest, and St. John of God R.C. Church, Cape May. Arrangements: Moritz Funeral Home, Closter.
