BEATRICE M. BARANOWSKI, 81, of Randolph, formerly of River Vale, died Sunday. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church, Park Ridge. She was a member of the River Vale Seniors and a volunteer at Pascack Valley Hospital, Westwood. Arrangements: Robert Spearing Funeral Home, Park Ridge.

DINAH BROWN, 69, of Wayne died Thursday. She had been a factory worker. Arrangements: Bragg Funeral Home, Paterson.

MARY R. NEARY BURKE, 88, of Wayne, formerly of River Edge, died Monday. Before retiring in 1981, she was a customer service representative for New Jersey Bell Telephone Co. in Hackensack, where she worked for 10 years, and a member of its Pioneers. She was a parishioner of St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, River Edge, and a member of its Rosary Society. She was a member of the River Edge Woman's Club. Arrangements: Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, Wayne.

ROSE CHIOCCHI CENTANNI, 87, of Hawthorne died Monday. Before retiring, she worked in the textile industry in Paterson. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony R.C. Church, Hawthorne. Arrangements: Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, Hawthorne.

NOEL E. CLARKE of Hackensack died Monday. He had been a housekeeper for the Emerson Nursing Home and Regent Care Center, Hackensack. He was a member of Seashore Church of God, Paterson. Arrangements: Earl I. Jones Funeral Home, Hackensack.

CATHERINE ARRIGONI DALBON, 97, of Totowa died Saturday. Arrangements: Festa Memorial Funeral Home, Totowa.

DOROTHY A. D'ARCY, 74, of Lyndhurst died Sunday. Before retiring, she was a bookkeeper for Turnquist Steel Co., Wayne. Arrangements: Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, Lyndhurst.

MARGARET R. NICOLOSI DeGROAT, 83, of Bergenfield died Monday. She was a parishioner of St. John R.C. Church, Bergenfield. Arrangements: Riewerts Memorial Home, Bergenfield.

GIOVANNI DiCARLO, 59, of Elmwood Park, formerly of Garfield, died Monday. He was born in Italy. Before retiring last year, he was a cabinetmaker for Salerno's Kitchen Cabinet Co., Saddle Brook, where he worked for 30 years. Arrangements: Patrick J. Conte Funeral Home, Elmwood Park.

HELEN C. DOBKOWSKI, 87, of Clifton died Saturday. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7165 auxiliary, Clifton. She was a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, Clifton. Arrangements: Allwood Funeral Home, Clifton.

ROSE DePERI FIORENZI, 93, of Garfield died Monday. Before retiring in 1974, she was a seamstress for C.T. DiPiazza, Garfield, where she worked for 50 years, and was chairwomen of the International Ladies' Garment Workers Union in Passaic. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Virgin R.C. Church, Garfield, and a member of its Sewing Circle and Rosary, Sacred Heart, and Altar Guild societies. She was a former member of the Republican County Committee and a member of the Golden Agers, both in Garfield. Arrangements: Aloia Funeral Home, Garfield.

ELIZABETH G. GRACE, 91, of Teaneck died Thursday. Arrangements: Volk-Leber Funeral Home, Teaneck.

CAROLINE C. SCHERER HOGAN, 88, of Lake Worth, Fla., formerly of Hawthorne, died Friday. Before retiring in 1992, she was a secretary for Precision Screen, Hawthorne. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony R.C. Church. She was a member of Hawthorne Golden Circle. Arrangements: Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, Hawthorne.

MARJORIE S. CARRIGAN INGULLI, 78, of East Longmeadow, Mass., formerly of Glen Rock, died Sunday. She was born in Canada. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Glen Rock. Arrangements: Vander Plaat Colonial Home, Fair Lawn.

MARK S. JAKIMEC, 49, of Clifton died Sunday. He worked in the quality control department of U.S. Engineering Co. in Rahway. Previously, he had been a bartender at the Grande Saloon, Clifton, where he worked for 20 years. Arrangements: Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, Van Houten Avenue, Clifton.

RICHARD C. JOHNSON SR., 64, of Wayne died Sunday. He had owned Arnie's Tavern, Wayne, for 35 years. He was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Wayne. He was a life member of Masonic Lodge 154, and a member of the Pines Lake Seniors, Wayne, and Bridge Club. He was a football coach for the Wayne Police Athletic League, and was a volunteer at Wayne General Hospital. He also participated in the Wayne Adult Community Center. Arrangements: Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, Wayne.

JOSEPHINE SZVED MAJOR, 83, of Clifton died Sunday. She had been a registered nurse for The New York Times in East Rutherford. She was a graduate of Holy Name Hospital School of Nursing and a member of its alumni association. She also was a member of AARP. Arrangements: Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, Lexington Avenue, Clifton.

FRANK MALHIOT, 72, of Woodbridge, formerly of Wood-Ridge, died Saturday. Before retiring, he owned a trucking company. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Arrangements: Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, Woodbridge.

ROBERT T. MATTHEISS, 48, of Clifton, formerly of Belleville, died Monday. He had been a self-employed landscaper. Arrangements: Marrocco Memorial Chapel, Colfax Avenue, Clifton.

STELLA R. LEARDI PAGANO, 91, of Wayne died Sunday. She was born in Italy. Arrangements: Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, Wayne.

SAMUEL W. RODMAN, 79, of Hackensack died Monday. Before retiring, he was a leadman for Hoke International, Cresskill, where he worked for 20 years. Subsequently, he worked for J-B Wholesale Pet Supply, Oakland, for 20 years. He was a co-founder of the Englewood Odd Job Service. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II. Arrangements: G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, Hackensack.

JULIUS H. SCHMITT, 93, of Franklin Lakes died Monday. Before retiring in 1973, he was director of classified advertising for The New York Times, where he worked for 50 years. He was a parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church and a member of the Seniors, both in Franklin Lakes. Arrangements: Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, Franklin Lakes.

ANNA M. SCHWARTE, 93, of Westwood, formerly of North Bergen, died Sunday. Before retiring in 1974, she was a teacher for the North Bergen Board of Education. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Saddle River. She was a former member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, North Bergen, where she was a Sunday school teacher. Arrangements: Becker Funeral Home, Westwood.

THERESA CANNICI COLDON SELBACH, 90, of Wallington died Sunday. Before retiring in 1960, she was a seamstress. She was a member of AARP. Arrangements: Collins-Calhoun Funeral Home, Rutherford.

JOAN M. SLOCKBOWER, 60, of Paterson died Monday. She was a former member of the Madison Avenue Baptist Church, Paterson. Arrangements: Bragg Funeral Home, Paterson.

GEORGIA STAVROULIAS, 74, of Fort Lee died Sunday. She was an administrative assistant for The Atlantic Bank of New York City. She was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Ascension, Fairview, where she was a former trustee and a member of its Ladies Philoptochos Society. Arrangements: Frank A. Patti & Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home, Fort Lee.

CYRIL V. STORER, 83, of Whiting, Manchester Township, formerly of Ramsey and Clifton, died Sunday. Before retiring, he was general manager of marine operations for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and was a vice president of its Retirees Association. He was a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a former warden of the Church of the Advent, Bloomfield. Arrangements: Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, Whiting.

ROBERT V. SUTTON, 60, of Ridgefield died Monday. He had been a self-employed oil-burner mechanic. Arrangements: Blackley Funeral Home, Ridgefield.

MERI J. STOUT SVOBODA, 79, of Allendale, formerly of Ridgewood, died Friday. She had been a reporter for The Associated Press. She also had written for The New York Times and The Record. She was a graduate of the University of Illinois. She was a member of the American Red Cross. Arrangements: Van Emburgh-Sneider Funeral Home, Ramsey.

JOSEPH J.C. THOMSON, 78, of North Bergen died Monday. Before retiring in 1985, he was a dentist in private practice in North Bergen and a member of the American Dental Association. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 326, Cliffside Park. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, North Bergen, and a member of the Tertiary Order of the Dominicans. He was a consultant for the Hudson County Medical Examiner's Office and a member of the Royal Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics. Arrangements: Konopka Funeral Home, North Bergen.

ELLEN POLDERMAN VAN DONGEN, 90, of Garfield died Saturday. She was born in the Netherlands. Before retiring, she was an executive secretary for State Farm Insurance Co. in Wayne. She was a member of Richfield Christian Reformed Church, Clifton. Arrangements: Vander Plaat Memorial Home, Paramus.

JOHN W. WARD, 60, of River Edge died Monday. He had been a cook at Hagler's Tavern, Oradell, where he worked for 32 years. Arrangements: Beaugard Funeral Home, River Edge.

JUDITH L. MARKOWITZ WATCHMAN, 70, of Clifton died Monday. She had been a partner in Regal-Watchman Tours Inc., Passaic, where she worked for 40 years. She was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University. She was a life member of Hadassah and a member of the Women's American Organization for Rehabilitation Through Training. Arrangements: Jewish Memorial Chapel, Clifton.

HERMAN J. WINSCHUH, 85, of Totowa died Sunday. Before retiring, he was a baker for Wonder Bread in Paterson. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 227, Totowa. Arrangements: Festa Memorial Funeral Home, Totowa.

EDNA BUBKO WISNIEWSKI, 89, of Hasbrouck Heights, formerly of Englewood, died Sunday. Arrangements: Costa Memorial Home, Hasbrouck Heights.
