Louis F. Filipek, 74, of 1434 Spruce St. died Sunday at 5:27 p.m. in St. Joseph Medical Center, where he had been a patient since Nov. 14.
He was the husband of Amelia (Bialek) Filipek.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late George and Josephine (Jarosz) Filipek.
Filipek was employed for 20 years by Reading Dairy and was last employed, for 22 years, by Carpenter Technology Corp., retiring in 1987.
He was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Reading.
Filipek was an Army veteran of World War II.
He is also survived by three daughters: Donna (Filipek) Leisey, Wernersville; and Deborah (Filipek) Christ and Dianne (Filipek) Tarnoski, both of Reading.
Other survivors include two sisters, Anna (Filipek) Fura, Reading, and Jennie (Filipek) Rossi, Mount Penn; and a brother, Edward, Lebanon.
There are also four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton. Kopicki-Bradley Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
Irvin R. Willman

Irvin R. Willman, 81, died Monday at 1 a.m. in his residence at 61 Five Points Road, Rockland Township.
He was the husband of Mary A. (Fretz) Willman.
Born in Earl Township, he was a son of the late George and Mary (Reinhart) Willman.
Willman was last employed for 30 years as a mason by Ammon Leister Contractor, Boyertown, retiring in 1980.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Willman was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Spangsville.
He is also survived by a son, Kenneth L., Oley Township; and three daughters: Carol A. (Willman) Cleaver, Rockland Township; and Doris J. (Willman) Krause and Karen L. (Willman) Seyler, both of Earl Township.
Other survivors include two sisters, Helen (Willman) Hess, in California, and Mary (Willman) Miller, Oley Township; and three brothers: Walter, Earl Township; Stanley, Reading; and Paul, Turlock, Calif.
There is also a grandson.
Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Daniel R. Christ Funeral Home, Oley. Burial will be in Oley Cemetery, Spangsville.
Edward J. Ellex Sr.

Edward J. Ellex Sr., 82, died Sunday night in his residence at 733 Garfield Ave., Schuylkill Haven.
He was the husband of Ethel K. (Coller) Ellex.
Born in Tamaqua, Schuylkill County, he was a son of the late Joseph and Ella (Gurofsky) Ellex.
Ellex was employed by Harvey Moyer Inc., Schuylkill Haven, and was last employed as a glazer by Empire Glass Co., Pottsville, retiring in 1976.
He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II.
Ellex was a life member of the Rainbow Hose Company, Schuylkill Haven.
He was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Schuylkill Haven.
Ellex is also survived by five sons: Gary Sr. and Edward Jr., both of Schuylkill Haven; Ronald, Port Carbon, Schuylkill County; Terry, Cressona, Schuylkill County; and Brian, San Diego.
Other survivors include six daughters: Sandra (Ellex) Bausum, Pottsville; Nancy (Ellex) Matthews, Robin (Ellex) Zweizig and Christine Ellex, all of Schuylkill Haven; Carol (Ellex) Nelson, Langhorne, Bucks County; and Brenda (Ellex) Delaney, Auburn, Schuylkill County.
Also surviving are a sister, Alberta (Ellex) Kero, Elizabeth, N.J.; and three brothers: John, Edison, N.J.; Joseph, Boyertown; and Albert, Tamaqua.
There are also 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Jerusalem Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven. Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven, is in charge of arrangements.
Frank J. Guzman

Services for Frank J. Guzman, 22, of 553 N. Front St. will be Thursday at 5 p.m. in Whelan, Fleischmann & Schwartz Funeral Homes Inc., Reading.
A certificate of an undetermined manner of death was issued Monday for Guzman, Berks County First Deputy Coroner James P. Wilson said Monday.
Guzman was certified dead at 3:44 a.m. Sunday in his third-floor bedroom by Investigator Charles E. Sweitzer, Wilson said.
Guzman died of acute and chronic abuse of heroin and cocaine, Wilson said.
Born in Santo Domingo, Guzman was a son of Francisco Guzman, New York City, and Flora Tavares, Santo Domingo.
Guzman is also survived by a son, Timothy Guzman, Allentown.
Other survivors include two brothers, Robert and Anthony, and a sister, Vanessa Guzman, all of New York City.
June E. Estep

June E. Estep, 89, of Heilmandale Road, Lebanon, died Saturday at 7:50 p.m. in Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Estep.
Born in North Annville Township, Lebanon County, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Alice (Heilman) Miller.
Estep was employed as a teacher in North Cornwall and North Annville Township and was last employed as a kindergarten teacher in the Northern Lebanon School District until retiring.
She was a 1929 graduate of Palmyra High School and a graduate of Millersville State Teacher's College.
A member of Hill Lutheran Church, Cleona, Lebanon County, Estep was a Sunday school teacher for 60 years; and choir member, leader of children's groups, church councilwoman and president of the Lutheran Church Women for many years.
She was the first president of the Lebanon County Christian Endeavor and served as quiet-hour superintendent of the county, district and state.
Estep was a life member of the Pennsylvania Education Association and the Lebanon County and Pennsylvania State Retirees associations.
She was an assistant secretary of the Annville Senior Citizens and a volunteer at the Spang Crest Nursing Home, Lebanon.
Estep was the owner-operator of a stand at the Lebanon Farmers Market for many years and was known as the Opera Fudge Lady.
Surviving are four daughters: Anna J. (Estep) Erdman, Wernersville; Alice M. (Estep) Richards, Camp Hill, Cumberland County; and Linda K. (Estep) Cikovic and Martha J. (Estep) Gamble, both of Lebanon.
Other survivors include 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Hill Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Kreamer Funeral Home Inc., Annville, Lebanon County, is in charge of arrangements.
Cathryne V. Leonard

Cathryne V. Leonard, 33, of 831 N. 10th St., died of natural causes Nov. 27 in the residence of a friend at 140 N. Ninth St., said Second Deputy Coroner Dennis J. Hess.
Leonard was certified dead by Investigator Kay I. Eisenhower of the coroner's office. Leonard died of natural causes, Hess said.
Leonard was born in Baltimore.
She was last employed as a temporary worker by a local temporary employment agency.
Services and burial will be private. Lutz Funeral Home Inc., Mount Penn, is in charge of arrangements.
Harold E. Loose Jr.

Harold E. Loose Jr., 65, of Reading R.D. 2, Maidencreek Township, died Saturday at 9:15 a.m. in Reading Hospital, where he had been a patient since Nov. 24.
He was the husband of Anna L. (Roberts) Loose.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Harold E. Loose Sr. and Martha (Hasselback) Loose.
Loose was employed in the steel wire division of Carpenter Technology Corp., retiring in 1997.
He is also survived by two stepdaughters, Deanna J. (Zerbe) Neider, Lancaster, and Bonnie L. (Ulrich) L'Heureux, Blandon; and a stepson, Edward L. Ulrich, New Tripoli, Lehigh County.
Other survivors include a brother, Stanley Loose, York; and a stepsister, Barbara (Lash) Snyder, Reading.
There are also his stepmother, Catherine Loose, Reading; three stepgrandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in Henninger Funeral Home Inc. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
Jean D. Parr

Jean D. Parr, 54, of 655 N. Ninth St. died of natural causes Saturday at 2:39 p.m. in St. Joseph Medical Center, where she had been admitted earlier in the day.
She was predeceased by her husband, Albert G. Parr.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Dorothy (Seyler) Kissinger.
Parr, who resided with Angel Luis Diaz, is survived by a son, Allen D. Parr, Atlanta; and three daughters: Crystal J. Parr, Karen A. (Parr) Ramirez and April M. (Parr) Lemus, all at home.
Other survivors include two brothers, Joey Kissinger, Reading, and Denny Seyler, Laureldale.
There are also 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in Whelan, Fleischmann & Schwartz Funeral Homes Inc., Reading. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Tuckerton.
Idarmis Price

Idarmis Price, 36, died Sunday at 11:16 a.m. in her residence at 1133 Robeson St.
The death is under investigation by the Berks County Coroner's office.
She was the wife of Westley Price, Reading.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of Inid (Padua) Muyett Valdes, Mohrsville, and the late Gregorio Muyett.
Price is also survived by two sisters, Arlene (Muyett) Manlove, Wilmington, Del., and Ivette Mora, Reading; and three brothers: Gregorio Muyett, Oakland Park, Fla.; Dennis Muyett, Reading; and Wille Pagan, Muhlenberg Township.
Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Milkins Funeral Home Inc., Temple. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale.
Luz M. Santiesteban

Luz Maria Santiesteban, 61, of 1316 Woodcrest Drive, Kenhorst, died of natural causes Sunday at 11:24 p.m. in Reading Hospital, where she had been a patient since Dec. 1.
She was the wife of Santo Santiesteban.
Born in Antilla, Cuba, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Rosario (Quintana) Siam.
Santiesteban and her husband owned and operated Santiesteban Grocery, Reading, for nine years.
She is also survived by two daughters, Odalis Gonzales, Kenhorst; and Rosario Santiesteban, Havana, Cuba.
Other survivors include a brother, Manuel Siam, and two sisters, Vilma Siam, and Mirna Siam, all of Oriente, Cuba.
There are also three grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Samuel Santiesteban, in 1990.
Services will be Thursday at 9 a.m. in Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Shillington. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery.
Jennie McMullen

Jennie McMullen, 86, of Honesdale, Wayne County, died Sunday in Ellen Memorial Home, Honesdale, where she had resided since June.
Her husband, Howard McMullen, died in 1968.
Born in Geigertown, she was a daughter of the late Caroline Kulp.
Surviving are two sons, Eugene, Boyertown, and Barry, Honesdale, with whom she last resided; and three daughters: Esther (McMullen) Stufflet, Birdsboro; Mary (McMullen) Haines, Boyertown; and Fern (McMullen) Bender, Honesdale.
Other survivors include a half brother, Walter Strock, and a half sister, Mabel Delquito, both of Birdsboro.
There are also 23 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sons, Howard D. and Albert R. McMullen.
Memorial services will be private. Hessling Funeral Home, Honesdale, is in charge of arrangements.
Faye A. Roberts

Faye A. Roberts, 66, died of natural causes Monday at 1:30 a.m. in her residence at 92 Koenig Drive, Perry Township.
Her husband, Russell G. Roberts Jr., died Sept. 3.
Born in Mohnton, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Bertha (Blankenbiller) Weitzel.
Roberts was employed for 17 years as a sewing machine operator by Crown Knitting Mills, Mohrsville, until retiring.
She was a 1951 graduate of Mohnton High School.
Roberts was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are two sons, Russell G. III, Leesport, and Christopher A., Perry Township; and four daughters: Nancy E. (Roberts) Fisher, a resident of York Terrace, Pottsville; Janet G. Roberts, Fleetwood; Evie L. (Roberts) Deesing, Mahanoy City, Schuylkill County; and Anita L. (Roberts) Noecker, Perry Township.
Other survivors include a brother, Donald Weitzel, Cedar Top; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Jodine F. Roberts, in 1995.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in Leibensperger Funeral Homes Inc., Hamburg. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
Elfreda T. Taggart

Elfreda T. Taggart, 92, died Monday at 11:25 a.m. in her residence at 1421 Monroe Ave., Wyomissing.
Her husband, Robert S. Taggart, died July 10, 1999.
Born in Pleasant Plains, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late James H. and Ella V. (Davis) Tate.
Taggart was employed for 20 years as an elementary teacher in the South Orange-Maplewood School District in New Jersey, retiring in 1971.
She was a graduate of Tottenville High School, Staten Island, N.Y., and a 1958 graduate of Kean University, Union, N.J., with a bachelor's degree in education. She also attended Maxwell Training School, Brooklyn, N.Y.
Taggart was a member and former deacon of First Presbyterian Church, Reading.
She was a past president of the Reading Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and the Woman's Club of Wyomissing.
Surviving are two daughters, Catherine E. (Taggart) Readinger, Wyomissing, and Barbara J. (Taggart) Hodgkins, at home; and a son, Robert D., Menlo Park, Calif.
Other survivors include four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be private in Bean Funeral Homes & Cremation Services Inc., Shillington. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
Abner J. Moll

Abner J. Moll, 85, died Sunday at 10 a.m. in her residence at 55 Cardinal Road, Wyomissing.
He was the husband of Ruth M. (Putt) Moll.
Born in Muhlenberg Township, he was a son of the late Abner L. and Rose F. (Bolig) Moll.
Moll was employed for 35 years as a superintendent by British Petroleum, Spring Township, retiring in 1983.
He was a 1933 graduate of Wyomissing High School.
Moll was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.
He is also survived by two sons, Thomas M., Wyomissing, and Michael P., Reading; and a daughter, Mary E. (Moll) Guziak, Wyomissing.
Other survivors include six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
