Ms. Clara Mae Bradshaw
Services for Ms. Clara Mae Bradshaw, 74, of Monroe were held July 9, at Forsythe Church of Christ with Mr. Leon Heath and Mr. Don Glover officiating.
Interment followed in Gwin Cemetery in Mangham under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe.
Bradshaw died on July 6, at North Monroe Medical Center. She was a member of the Forsythe Church of Christ, where she was a Bible Class Teacher for over 30 years.Ms. Bradshaw devoted her life to volunteering for worth while causes. She was a volunteer for St. Francis Medical Center for over 18years serving with the Pink Ladies Auxiliary. She was a former resident of Francis Towers, where she served on the Francis Towers Residence Association helping raise money for numerous projects. She looked forward to every Saturday, serving as a volunteer for the "Shots for Tots". Ms. Bradshaw received the Golden Rule Award form J.C. Penney and was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award for the Twin Cities Mayor Committee for the Handicapped.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Nell Heath. Survivors include her sister, Fannie Winters of Greenville, MS; and brother, Archie Bradshaw, Jr. of Monroe, LA.
Pallbearers were Gary Heath, Neal Heath, Gerald Heath, Bruce Heath, Brandon Heath, and Heath Bastoe.
Joe E. Burch
Services for Joe E. Burch, 87, were held July 1 at the graveside with Rev. Billy Taylor officiating.
Interment was held at the Old Sardis in West Monroe under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe. Burch died June 28 at Riverside Nursing Home in Monroe.
Surivivors include his wife, Florence Burch of West Monroe; two daughter, Laura Medarie and husband Casey of West Monroe, Mary Louise Parson and husband Albert of Miss.; six grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends of the family.
Thelma (Dottie) Nichols Kilpatrick
Services for Thelma (Dottie) Nichols Kilpatrick, 90, of West Monroe, formerly of Monroe and a native of Monticello, Ark., were held July 7, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe with Rev. Terry Hughes and Rev. George Jacobs officiating.
Internment followed at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Kilpatrick was born in Monticello, Ark, December 28, 1912 and moved to West Monroe in 1921. she was a retired educator and a member of the Parkview Baptist Church. She was founder and first director for the School for Handicapped Children in Ouachita Parish.
She is preceded in death by her husband Edward Kilpatrick, her brothers, Paul, Jack and Leslie Nichols and her sisters, Ella Mae and Beatrice Myers.
Survivors include her niece Sue Barrick and husband Reggie of Baton Rouge, brother, E.C. (Toby) Nichols and wife Mollie of New Caney, Texas, niece, Mollie Wooten, nephews Ronnie Nichols and Clark Nichols of Paarland, Texas and special niece Myrle White and husband Jimmy and many other nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Bobby Kilpatrick, Ralph Kilpatrick, Jimmy White, Jimmy White, Jr., Richard Crawford and Jerry Bailey Michael
Anthony McMellon, Jr.
Services for Mr. Michael Anthony McMellon, Jr., 19, of Monroe were held July 8, at College Town Assembly of God with Rev. Dan McLure officiating.
Internment followed at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road.
McMellon died July 6, at St. Francis Medical Center for injuries received from at automobile accident.
He was a member of the College Town Assembly of God, a graduate of Ouachita High School, and a life guard.
Survivors include father and mother Michael and Meva McMellon of Monroe, sister Sheena McMellon of Monroe, maternal grandmother Peggy Shaw of Monroe, uncle and aunt Clint and Connie McMellon, aunt Donna Covington, cousins Curt McMellon, Daniel McMellon, Lori Greene, Dawn Farthing, Heather Covington, Louis Whitlock, Travis Whitlock, and Christopher Covington.
Pallbearers were Louis Whitlock, Travis Whitlock, Christopher Covington, Matt Gunther, Ricky Clark and Troy Gwin.
