Kimberly Tonkin Oliver
CHESAPEAKE - Kimberly Tonkin Oliver, 44, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2007, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Kim was predeceased by her mother, Evelyn Tonkin.
Kim was a native of Chesapeake and graduated from Western Branch High School and Old Dominion University. Kim’s profession was in computers and she was employed locally by the U.S. government and Dollar Tree headquarters.
She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Don Oliver and loving son, Zachary; her father, Bob Tonkin; mother and father-in-law, Anne and Gene Oliver; brother and sister-inlaw, Randy and Cindy Oliver, and many other friends and relatives.
Kim was a free spirit and was a breath of fresh air to everyone who knew her. She was the eternal optimist and never complained throughout all of her pain and suffering. She was a wonderful wife and loving mother and would do anything to keep her “Men” happy!
Don and Zachary wish to thank all of her many doctors and caretakers including Dr. Thomas Alberico of Virginia Oncology, for treating her with dignity.
A graveside funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m. Condolences may be made at www.lovingfuneralhome.com.
Her pain and suffering are over and even though she has gone on to a better place, her wonderful spirit will always be here for us to share.

Coley Voshall Ward
VIRGINIA BEACH - Carl Coley Voshall Ward, infant son of Carl B. Ward IV and Wendy R. Voshall, died July 18, 2007. Other survivors include maternal grandparents, Ronnie and Carol Voshall of Chesapeake; paternal grandmother, Alice K. Ward of Virginia Beach; paternal grandfather, Carl B. Ward III and wife Karen of Norfolk; and paternal great-grandmother, Veronica M. Ward of Norfolk.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Otero A. Donatelli
CHESAPEAKE - Otero A. Donatelli, 68, passed away July 19, 2007, in a local hospital. Born in Rome, Italy, he was the son of the late Giovanni and Zaira Donatelli. He retired as a tailor for the Quality Shop after 22 years of service. He was a member of the Roma Lodge and Knights of Columbus. Otero is survived by his wife, Grace Donatelli; two sons, Giovanni Donatelli and fiancee Chrysta and Sandro Donatelli; two brothers, Alberico Donatelli and wife Adua and Renato Pistilli.
The family received friends in Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral Mass was conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Paul’s Catholic Church by Monsignor Thomas Caroluzza. Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Restoration Committee in St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 518 High St., Portsmouth, VA 23704. Kate W. Anderson
NORFOLK - Kate Willis Anderson died July 24, 2007. Born in Onslow County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Julia Sanders Willis and Jewel Ricaud Willis. Mrs. Anderson was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, James Corbin Anderson; a sister, Joyce W. Flemming; and a brother, Benjamin F. Willis.
As she moved with her husband to different locations in Virginia, she maintained an active presence in the local church. An ordained Elder, she also served as moderator of the Women of Norfolk Presbytery and president of the Women of First Presbyterian Church where she was currently a member. She was a dedicated and active supporter of her husband’s positions with Zuni Presbyterian School and Massanetta Springs Conference Center.
Mrs. Anderson was involved in her communities with the PTA and garden clubs of Portsmouth, Suburban Woman’s Club, The Women’s Club of Windsor, Zuni Kuwayes, Lawrence T. Royster Circle of the King’s Daughters and the Fort Nelson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a Lynnhaven House volunteer and a member of the Poetry Society of Virginia. She was a feature writer on the staff of the Ledger Star of Portsmouth in the late 1950s. She was a published poet and an exhibited artist, receiving recognition and awards also for her needlework, sewing and floral arrangements. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker who took great pleasure in sharing her home and her talents with friends and family.
She is survived by her children, the Rev. David J. Anderson of Chesapeake, Ellen A. Hill and her husband F. Judson Hill and Julia A. Wilson and her husband Eugene C. Wilson Jr. all of Virginia Beach; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Anderson of Laurinburg, N.C.; six grandchildren, Margaret A. Johnson and husband Allen, Christian D. Anderson, all of Laurinburg, N.C., John S. Anderson and wife Andrea of Charleston, W.Va., Paul C. Wilson and wife Terri of Chesapeake, Jonathan E. Wilson and wife Naomi of Fredericksburg and Sarah W. Sokhey and husband Anand of Columbus, Ohio; two stepgrandsons, Scott G. Hill and wife Yvonne and Morgan D. Hill and wife Holly, all of Atlanta, Ga.; seven great-grandchildren, Noah Wilson, Rachel Wilson, Josiah Anderson, Alatheia Anderson, Abigail Anderson, Geoffrey Hill and Ryan Hill. She is also survived by her sister, Mary W. Mayes and husband Cliff of Minnesota; her brother, Sidney A. Willis of Texas; a sister-in-law, Mary A. Burroughs of Norfolk; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Private burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. James Wood. Memorial contributions may be made to Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters or the Chrysler Museum of Art, both in Norfolk. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, is handling the arrangements.
