WINFRED JUNE COURTWAY
WINFRED JUNE COURTWAY OF CADET, MISSOURI, WAS BORN JUNE 14, 1937, IN CADET, MISSOURI, A DAUGHTER OF VERNA (BEQUETTE) POLITTE AND THE LATE BERNARD POLITTE. JUNE DEPARTED THIS LIFE SUDDENLY ON FEBRUARY 6, 2000, HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF SIXTY-TWO YEARS, SEVEN MONTHS AND TWENTY- THREE DAYS.
JUNE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO THE LATE HAROLD "TOAD" COURTWAY ON AUGUST 27, 1955, AT ST. JOACHIM CATHOLIC CHURCH IN CADET.
JUNE IS SURVIVED BY HER MOTHER, VERNA POLITE OF POTOSI, ONE SON, RONALD "RON" COURTWAY AND WIFE ROBYN OF GRANITE CITY, ILLINOIS, TWO DAUGHTERS, LINDA GAIL PRATER AND HUSBAND THOMAS OF BLACKJACK, MISSOURI, DANA MARIE DECKER AND HUSBAND GARY OF CADET, SIX GRANDCHILDREN, ONE GREAT GRANDCHILD, FOUR SISTERS, INA MAE BOYER AND HUSBAND PAUL OF CADET, HILDA BAYS AND HUSBAND RON OF HOUSE SPRINGS, FRANCIOS ANN RUNDEL AND HUSBAND ROBERT OF CADET, CATHY SCHWARTZ AND HUSBAND JAY OF CLAYTON AND BY MANY OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS. IN ADDITION TO HER FATHER AND HUSBAND SHE WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY ONE DAUGHTER, GLORIA JEAN COURTWAY, TWO BROTHERS, KENNY AND THOMAS POLITTE.
JUNE WAS A LONGTIME MEMBER OF THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS LADIES AUXILIARY, OLD MINES, MISSOURI. JUNE ENJOYED TAKING TIME WITH BOTH FAMILY AND FRIENDS, TO ENJOY DANCING AND CHECKING OUT THE EVENTS AND ACTION OF THE RIVERBOAT.
JUNE HAD A GREAT LOVE FOR HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS EACH OF THEM HELD A VERY DEAR PLACE IN HER HEART. HER GRANDCHILDREN WAS THE SPARKLE OF HER EYE AND HER LESSONS TAUGHT TO THEM WERE THOSE OF LOVE.
VISITATION WAS HELD MONDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 2000, FROM 2:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. AT MOORE FUNERAL HOME IN POTOSI.
A FUNERAL MASS WAS CELEBRATED TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 2000, AT 10:00 A.M. AT ST. JOACHIM CATHOLIC CHURCH WITH FATHER TED PIEPER OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN JEFFERSON BARRACKS NATIONAL Cemetery, UNDER THE DIRECTION OF MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI.
SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE, KEVIN RUNDEL, TIM RUNDEL, PHIL DICKERSON, DAVE COURTWAY, BRIAN SCHWARTZ AND ALLAN GUENTHER.
