Howard Stinson
Howard K. Stinson, 80, died Saturday, June 14, 1997, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 22, 1917, in Haldeman, Ky., to Lucille (Reeder) and Luther Stinson.
Mr. Stinson was a superintendent for Midwestern Gas and Transmission Co. for many years until retirement. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Sylvia Ruley on Sept. 22, 1937, in Haldeman, Ky. They moved to Arizona from Minnesota 26 years ago. He was a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge in Ohio, was a 32nd Degree Mason, and was a member of the American Legion Post in Prescott Valley. He loved traveling and camping.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia of Prescott Valley; sons, Jack Stinson of Roslyn, Pa., and Bob Stinson of Walls, Miss.; brother, Harry Stinson of Liberty, Ky.; sisters, Katherine Osborne of Mt. Sterling, Ky., and Mattie Stewart of Long Beach, Miss.; eight grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ken; and daughter, Lucille.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sunrise Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Cunningham officiating.

Regina Stoner
Regina "Regie" Stoner, 76, died Saturday, June 14, 1997, in Prescott.
She was born Jan. 14, 1921, in Ashtabula, Ohio.
Mrs. Stoner moved to Prescott in 1969 and worked for the Prescott Unified School District, retiring in 1992.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Jo Austin of Prescott.
Private services were held at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Prescott.

Samuel Martin
Samuel A. Martin, 83, died Sunday, June 15, 1997, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 4, 1914, in Seattle, Wash., to Alice (Brown) and Samuel Martin.
Mr. Martin was a retired owner of a clothing manufacturing company in Seattle, Wash. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He moved to Prescott from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, a year ago.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; son, Sam Martin of Spokane, Wash.; daughter, Alice O'Gorman of Ellensburg, Wash.; sister, Alice McHugh of Seattle, Wash.; and three grandchildren.
Interment will be in Seattle, Wash.

Frances Schwartz
Frances M. Schwartz, 92, died Thursday, June 12, 1997, at the Las Fuentes Care Center in Prescott.
She was born Aug. 18, 1904, in Emerson, N.D., to Vern and Caroline (Taylor) Baker.
Mrs. Schwartz was a school teacher and moved to Sun City in 1968 from North Dakota, and to Prescott in 1993. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and the South Country Homemakers' Club in North Dakota.
Survivors include daughters, Evelyn Turner of Prescott and Ruth Smith of Lincoln, Neb.; son, Daniel Schwartz of Lincoln, Neb.; brother, Taylor Baker of Spokane, Wash.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Schwartz, in 1977, and grandson, Richard Carlson.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 29, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 13450 N. Plaza Del Rio Blvd., in Sun City.

Raymond Starr
Raymond B. Starr, 79, died Monday, June 16, 1997, at the Prescott Veterans Medical Center.
He was born March 13, 1918, in Steubenville, Ohio, to Martha (Fleming) and Conrad Starr.
Mr. Starr served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a game warden in Ohio for many years before moving to Phoenix 28 years ago. When in Ohio he helped introduce the Chinese Golden Pheasant to the northern Ohio area and was also responsible for turning the Jefferson County, Ohio, strip mines into fishing ponds. He was a member of the Steubenville Masonic Lodge for 33 years.
He was an office manager for Menke Transportation Co. in Phoenix, retiring in 1978. In 1969 he married Mary K. Kelly in Phoenix and they moved to Cordes Lakes 16 years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of Cordes Lakes; sons, James Starr of Cordes Lakes, Gary Starr of New Mexico, Domenik Orlando of Phoenix, and John Orlando and Frank Orlando, both of Ohio; daughter, Tina Blackwell of Cordes Lakes; brother, Oscar Starr of Ohio; sisters, Lois Wheaton of Phoenix and Veronica Vonhan of Mesa; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers Orvalle Starr and Steve Starr.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Sunrise Funeral Home, 8167 E. Hwy. 69 in Prescott Valley. The Rev. Waldo Walker will officiate. Inurnment will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona on Cave Creek Road in Phoenix.
