Twyla Stewart
Twyla L. Stewart, 85, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999, at Las Fuentes Care Center in Prescott.
She was born July 30, 1914, in Chicago, Ill.
Mrs. Stewart worked as an owner of a book editing company. She moved to Prescott from Hollywood, Calif., in 1983. She enjoyed square dancing and round dancing.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest, of Prescott Valley.
No services are planned.
Hampton Funeral Home helped the family with arrangements.

Sherra Berutto
Sherra Fern Berutto, 52, formerly of Prescott, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999, in Arlington, Va.
She was born May 24, 1947, in Prescott, to Don and Billiemae Shupp.
Mrs. Berutto graduated from Bisbee High School in 1965, where she was a cheerleader and active in many sports.
She lived in Prescott from 1972 to 1995, when she moved to Virginia. While in Prescott Mrs. Berutto participated in tennis, softball, volleyball and bowling. She helped organize the Prescott Superstars and the American Cancer Society Charity Event.
Mrs. Berutto worked for the Veterans Administration in Washington, D.C., from 1995 until her death. She had recently won the Virginia State Senior Tennis Championship, and was to have competed in the national event in Florida this month.
She is survived by her father, Don Shupp; daughter, Wendy Berutto; and brother, Gary Shupp.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Billiemae Shupp, and brother, Randy Shupp.
No services were held.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the National Parks and Conservation Association, in memory of Sherra Berutto, attention Laura Conners, 1776 Massachusetts Ave. NW, Washington, D.C., 20036, or to the charity of one's choice.

Antoinette Peterson
Antoinette "Tony" Peterson, 81, died Monday, Oct. 25, 1999, at her home in Prescott.
She was born Nov. 13, 1917, in Velva, N.D., to Arthur and Alpha (Holler) Smith.
Mrs. Peterson graduated from Carleton College with a bachelor of science degree and from the Yale School of Nursing with a master's degree. She served in the Army Medical Corps during World War II. After the war she was a detox nurse for Hennepen County in Minnesota and also worked at the Anoka Ramsey Medical Center. She married George Peterson on Sept. 12, 1946, and they moved to Prescott in 1986.
Mrs. Peterson enjoyed studying national and international political affairs. She liked to play bridge and enjoyed preparing healthful, nutritious meals.
She is survived by her husband, George of Prescott; sons, Gary of Tucson and Stephen of Chanhassen, Minn.; and two grandsons.
Private family services are being planned.

George Chester
George E. Chester, 77, of Prescott, died at his home on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999.
He was born July 13, 1922, in Trinidad, Colo., to John R. and Margaret M. (Brashear) Chester.
Mr. Chester was raised in Carlsbad, N.M. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European and Pacific theaters of operation. He and his wife, Mildred, were married on May 10, 1947.
In Carlsbad, he was a member of the American Legion and the Lions Club. He moved to Flagstaff in 1982 and worked as a security officer for the Flagstaff Regional Medical Center until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of the American Legion Post #100 in Flagstaff.
He moved to Prescott in 1993. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Word of Life Assembly in Prescott.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mildred; daughter, Carol Fry of Prescott; son, Gary of Flagstaff; brothers, Ted of Kansas City, Mo., Bill and Don of Carlsbad, N.M., and Bob of Oklahoma City, Okla.; sister, Sybal West of Carlsbad, N.M.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may call on the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Memory Chapel Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Word of Life Assembly, 2200 N. Highway 89. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott.

Andronico Pacheco
Andronico Pacheco, 49, died Monday, Oct. 25, 1999, in Prescott.
He was born June 15, 1950, in Phoenix to Andronico and Henrietta (Ruiz) Pacheco II.
Mr. Pacheco served his country in the Army during the last few years of the war in Vietnam. He moved to Prescott from Phoenix in 1989, and worked as a cook for the Yavapai Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Pacheco was a member of the Catholic church. He loved the outdoors, taking part in such activities as hiking and camping.
Survivors include his sisters, Cynthia Pacheco of Phoenix and Caroline Pacheco of Sunnyvale, Calif.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, with Deacon Bill Davis of Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiating.

Theresa Taghon
Theresa E. Taghon, 93, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999, at her residence in Prescott Valley.
She was born April 6, 1906, in Keif, N.D., to Carl and Annie (Meyers) Alexander.
She married Fred Taghon Oct. 6, 1925, in Mandan, N.D. She moved to Prescott Valley in April 1999 from Mandan, N.D., to be with her son. She was a homemaker and a farmer's wife who enjoyed canning her homegrown produce and butchering her family's meat.
She is survived by a son, Ray of Prescott Valley; sister, Patricia Schaff of Milwaukee, Wis.; six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred.
Services will be Friday at the Riverwood Baptist Church in Bismarck, N.D.

Leila McCrary
Leila Belle McCrary, 97, died Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at Meadow Park Care Center in Prescott.
She was born Jan. 12, 1902, in Nashville, Tenn., to John and Josie Cartwright.
Mrs. McCrary moved to Prescott in June of 1946. She worked as a nurse's aide at the Arizona Pioneers' Home, retiring in 1970. She loved taking care of her family and her home, and enjoyed spending time working in the yard with her flowers.
Survivors include her daughters, Stella Inscho of Prescott and Laura Minter of Cottonwood; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
A visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, Cortez and Carleton streets.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday at I00F Cemetery, 500 S. Virginia St., with Peter Hicks officiating.
