Betty Dunn
Betty Jane Dunn, 76, a Dewey resident from 1981 to 1998, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, in Glendale.
She was born Dec. 26, 1922, in Washington, Pa.
Mrs. Dunn was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert "Doc" Dunn in 1997.
Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth Amshay of Phoenix; sons, Charles (Butch) Dunn of Fountain Hills, Joseph Dunn of Phoenix and William Dunn of Prescott Valley; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
The family plans private funeral services and suggests contributions to the Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.
Sunwest Funeral Home in Peoria helped the family with arrangements.

Patrick Laughlin
Patrick A. Laughlin, 59, died Monday, Oct. 18, 1999, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Prescott.
He was born April 12, 1940, in DeGraff, Minn., to Joseph and Kathryn (Zeller) Laughlin.
Mr. Laughlin served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Catholic Church and the American Legion. He enjoyed traveling and being independent.
He is survived by his son, Patrick Wilke of Murdock, Minn.; brothers, Tom of Faribault, Minn., Austin of Benson, Minn., and James of St. Paul, Minn.; and sisters, Luella Koski of Alexandria, Minn., and Lois McLaughlin of Vacaville, Calif.
Mr. Laughlin was preceded in death by his brother, Maurice, and sister, Marie.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center Chapel, 500 E. Highway 89, in Prescott.
Concluding services with full military honors will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday at the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix.

Dorothy Bartuss
Dorothy M. Bartuss, 88, of Seligman, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, at a nursing home in Kingman.
She was born Jan. 3, 1911, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to Alfred and Evelyn (Williams) Miller.
Mrs. Bartuss moved from Portsmouth, Ohio, to Seligman in 1989. She had been employed at the Williams Shoe Co. until the plant closed.
In Portsmouth, she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the ladies auxiliary of the American Legion Russell Williams Post #471, and Daughters of America. In Seligman, she was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Vitt of Flagstaff; sister, Gladys Whittenbarger of Milford, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Bartuss was preceded in death by her husband, William; son, Harry Tracy; brother, Forest; sister Cloteen; and a grandchild.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Catholic Church in Seligman, with the Rev. Louis Rink, C.S.C., officiating.
Final farewell and commendation will be at the Seligman Cemetery.

John Hendricks
John Francis Hendricks, 79, of Prescott Valley, died Monday, Oct. 18, 1999, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Prescott.
He was born Dec. 25, 1919, in Long Island City, N.Y., to Peter and Anna (Ossberg) Hendricks.
Mr. Hendricks was a World War II Navy veteran. For 23 years he worked as a supervisor and salesman for an auto radiator parts manufacturer.
He married Viola Ernest on Oct. 7, 1946. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Cooties, and was a member of the Prescott Valley United Methodist Church.
Mr. Hendricks enjoyed woodworking, playing cards, bowling, fishing, traveling and doing car or home repairs. He enjoyed helping children and was active in Cub Scouts and the Woodcraft Rangers.
He was proudest of being a veteran, and of his grandchildren.
Mr. Hendricks is survived by his wife, Viola; daughter, Corrine Shillam of Prescott Valley; son, David, of Garrison, Iowa; and four grandchildren.
A private cremation was at Bradshaw Crematory in Prescott Valley. Committal services with honors will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.

Ralph Murane
Ralph Theodore "Doc" Murane, 96, of Prescott, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix.
He was born Aug. 28, 1903, in Nome, Alaska, to Cornelius Daniel and Lydia (Millard) Murane.
Mr. Murane was a self-employed optometrist for 46 years. He attended the University of Wyoming in Cheyenne, the Elgin School of Watchmaking in Elgin, Ill., and the University of Southern California.
He married Charlene Asher on Dec. 22, 1951. The Muranes lived in Orange County, Calif., for 69 years. Mr. Murane moved to Arizona this past summer following his wife's death.
Mr. Murane was a member of the 20-30 Club, the Helter Skelter Ski Club, and had also been a member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed playing and composing music, panning for gold, and was active in Bible study and prison ministries.
He remained active his entire life, hiking to the bottom of the Grand Canyon at age 75, and was still snow skiing at 84.
He is survived by his daughters, Nancee Kilbourn of Prescott and Barbara Mathewson of Oro Valley; 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fairhaven Memorial Park in Santa Ana, Calif. Friends may call at the Fairhaven Mortuary from noon to 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

William Hughes
William "Bill" Hughes, 77, of Prescott, died Monday, Oct. 18, 1999, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 15, 1922, in Pen Argyl, Pa., to William and Marion (Howell) Hughes.
As a member of the United States Army, 83rd Division, during World War II, Mr. Hughes participated in the invasion of Normandy, France. He twice received the Purple Heart and a Bronze Victory Medal.
Mr. Hughes married Mildred Miltner on June 5, 1943. He worked as a steel controller for Inland Steel Container for 23 years, retiring in 1984.
He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans in Cleveland, Ohio.
Mr. Hughes enjoyed attending live theater, traveling, and watching football and baseball, especially the Cleveland Indians.
He was proudest of his service in the Army, and of his marriage of 56 years.
Mr. Hughes is survived by his wife, Mildred; daughter, Linda Golbeck of Scottsdale; son, William Jr. of Creve Coeur, Ill.; and sister, Margaret Roberts of Rockwood, Tenn.
A private cremation was held at Bradshaw Crematory in Prescott Valley.

Betty Click
Betty Click, 79, of Prescott, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, in Prescott Valley.
She was born May 24, 1920, in Denver, Colo., to H. Walter Baldwin Jr. and Helen (Irvine) Baldwin.
Mrs. Click had been a resident since 1991 when she moved to Arizona from Colorado. She enjoyed crocheting.
She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Carroll of Phoenix, Sally Maggart of Fort Collins, Colo., Terry Kimbrel of Caņon City, Colo., and Elizabeth Stinebrink of Prescott; sons, Jack of Cortez, Colo., and Pete of Ankeny, Iowa; sisters, Annie Evans, Jane Howard and Alma Sanderson; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wes Click, a daughter, Carol Johnson, and one brother.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Denver, Colo., with the Rev. Olon Lindemood officiating.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Cortez Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 1327, Cortez, CO 81321.
Ertel Funeral Home in Cortez, Colo., and Hampton Funeral Home in Prescott helped the family with arrangements.

Sandra Dalton
Sandra Lee Dalton, 49, of Prescott, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, in Prescott.
She was born Jan. 24, 1950, in Madison County, Ill., to Alfred and Catherine (Wilson) Fullagar.
She moved to Arizona in 1991 from Illinois.
Survivors include her daughter, Gina Miller of Phoenix; brother, Terry Todd of California; and sister, Kay Harmon of Phoenix.
Private arrangements were made by the family.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society, Arizona Division, Inc., Northern Region, 2724 E. Lakin, Ste. 9, Flagstaff, AZ 86004.
Memory Chapel Mortuary helped the family with arrangements.
