Charles Morris
Charles A. Morris, 74, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999, at his home in Prescott.
He was born Feb. 10, 1925, in Denton, Mont., to George and Lillie (Cope) Morris.
Mr. Morris was a rancher in Montana. He moved to Scottsdale in 1966, and worked for First American Title Co. in the trust accounting department. He transferred to Prescott in 1980, as manager of the accounting department.
He was treasurer of the Walker Volunteer Fire Department in 1997.
Mr. Morris is survived by his wife, Verda Mae; daughter, Pennie Wood; sons, Ken Morris, Alan Landru and David Landru; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Creel Funeral Home in Denton, Mont., with visitation at that funeral home on Wednesday.

Thelma Voland
Thelma Voland, 82, of Dewey, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 1999, in Prescott.
She was born Nov. 14, 1916, in Midas, Nev., to Albert and Lillie (Huber) Conley.
Mrs. Voland, a homemaker, moved to Arizona from Nevada 45 years ago. She enjoyed attending church, caring for small animals and gourmet cooking.
She is survived by her son, Michael Cleary; sisters, June and Ruth; and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Voland was preceded in death by her husband, Jacques Voland, and a grandson.
Private services were held.

Marjorie Haney
Marjorie Engleton Haney, 88, died Wednesday, June 30, 1999, at Prescott Samaritan Village.
She was born June 21, 1911, in Hammond, Ind.
She attended convent schools in Hammond, then worked for the telephone company until her marriage to Joseph Haney on May 11, 1933.
Mrs. Haney was active in volunteer work for local hospitals, the Red Cross and Girl Scouts. After living in several states throughout her husband's engineering career, the Haneys moved to Prescott in 1983.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Havekost Shannon, and two grandchildren and a great-grandchild, all of Colorado.
Her ashes were sent to Colorado, where a family memorial service was held in August.

Paul Hosman
Paul D. Hosman, 74, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999, at his home in Prescott.
He was born Sept. 16, 1924, in Omaha, Neb., to Paul D. and Irene (Turner) Hosman.
Mr. Hosman, a Prescott resident for the last 52 years, had lived for brief periods of time in Nebraska, Florida and California before moving to Prescott.
He attended Pasadena Junior College and graduated from the University of Texas in 1947 with both bachelor's and master's degrees in chemical engineering. After working for a major oil company in Central America, he moved to Arizona, where he purchased ice plants in Prescott, Kingman and Bisbee. He owned the Crystal Ice Co. and Culligan Soft Water in Prescott until 1970 and the Diamond Newport Ice Co. in Santa Ana, Calif., until his retirement in September 1989.
Mr. Hosman married Ruth Fuscher in Prescott on Oct. 9, 1949. She preceded him in death in April 1989.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf. He was involved in various community groups and served for many years on the Yavapai Hospital District Board.
Survivors include his daughters, Terry Contapay of Tucson and Linda Watson of Prescott; son, Paul of Glendale; sister, Doris Auble of Garland, Texas; and three grandchildren.
There will be a gathering of friends at 11 a.m. Friday at the Hampton Funeral Home, 240 S. Cortez St.

Annette Grant
Annette Grant, 59, of Prescott, died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix.
She was born Nov. 10, 1939, in Warwick, R.I., to Arthur Joseph and Yvonne (Salois) Bonenfant.
Mrs. Grant led a very active, caring life. She was the executive assistant to the EVP/Operations at the Franklin Mint headquarters in Lima, Pa., and was promoted to manager of major accounts before resigning in 1981 to found The Goodchilde Gallery, an advertising specialty company. She ran that company successfully as its president until she sold it and retired with her husband, Ian, in 1994, when they moved to Prescott.
Mrs. Grant loved to entertain and could often be heard at social gatherings sharing her opinions on religion, politics, books or just about anything that could stir up a debate. As a volunteer for YRMC Hospice in Prescott, she touched lives and lifted spirits for many people.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and was an avid reader who was proud of her French and Native American heritage. An accomplished pianist, she had recently resumed formal study under Michael Mahany of Prescott Valley.
Survivors include her husband, Ian, whom she married on May 23, 1970; sister, Cecile Brooks of Warwick, R.I.; and brothers, Raymond and Norman Bonenfant, also of Warwick.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury Ave., with Fr. Fred Le Claire, C.M.F., officiating. Concluding service will be a private cremation at Bradshaw Crematory in Prescott Valley.

Robert Viles
Robert F. Viles, 73, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 1999, at his home in Chino Valley.
He was born Aug. 4, 1926, in Portland, Maine, to John and Anna (Misenor) Viles.
Mr. Viles served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He moved to Chino Valley from Maine in 1985. He was a life member of American Legion Bobby Bisjak Post No. 40.
Mr. Viles is survived by a son, Robert Jr. of Gorham, Maine, and a brother, Ed, of Portland, Maine.
Inurnment was at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.

Jacob Smith
Jacob Scott Smith, six-week-old son of David and Lora (Bunting) Smith of Prescott Valley, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999, in Prescott Valley.
He was born July 27, 1999.
Jacob's survivors include his parents; brother, Floyd, and sister, Shaleena, both of Prescott Valley; grandparents, Don and Barbara Smith of Prescott Valley, Clifford Bunting of Phoenix, and Betty Bruton of Texas; great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Snell of California, and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Bunting of Glendale; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services were Saturday at Memory Chapel, with Pastor Richard Norris of Word of Life Assembly officiating.
Interment was at Redwood Memorial Gardens in Dewey.

Lola Huber
Lola Evelyn Huber, 76, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999, at her home in Dewey.
She was born March 18, 1923, in Bakersfield, Calif., to Thomas and Lavina (Banker) Wiggins.
Mrs. Huber married Robert Franklin Huber on May 17, 1981, in Reno, Nev.
She worked as a secretary for the American Institute of Architects for 21 years, retiring in 1984.
Mrs. Huber moved from California to the Dewey area 13 years ago, where she enjoyed a good round of golf.
Survivors include her husband, Robert of Dewey; son, James Millard of Oxnard, Calif.; brother, Arthur Wiggins of Shasta City, Calif.; and sisters, Nada Keeling of Dewey and Dorothy Burg of Everson, Wash.
No services are planned.
The family suggests memorial contributions in Mrs. Huber's name to the American Cancer Society.
