LIGE L. PRICE OF POTOSI, MISSOURI, WAS BORN MAY 26, 1919, IN KINGSTON, MISSOURI, A SON OF THE LATE ARTHUR AND JOSPHINE (COLEMAN) PRICE. LIGE DEPARTED THIS LIFE AT JEFFERSON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 27, 1999, HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF SEVENTY-NINE YEARS EIGHT MONTHS AND ONE DAY.
LIGE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO THE LATE RACHAEL ROSE (OSIA) PRICE.
LIGE IS SURVIVED BY FIVE SONS, HAROLD PRICE AND WIFE NORMA OF ST. CHARLES, JUNIOR PRICE AND WIFE ROXIE OF COLLINSVILLE, ILLINOIS,CECIL PRICE OF FENTON, LARRY PRICE OF POPLAR BLUFF, RUSSELL PRICE ANS WIFE SHARON OF O'FALLON, BY THREE DAUGHTERS, DEANA FORD AND HUSBAND JOE OF FENTON, LOVEA BIRKE AND HUSBAND VINCENT OF LEMAY, LEISA SCARIM AND HUSBAND OLIVER OF FARMINGTON, THIRTEEN GRANDCHILDREN, THIRTEEN GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, ONE BROTHER, JOHN PRICE AND WIFE FAYE OF BLACKWELL, ONE SISTER, MARY AVA VEACH OF CADET AND BY MANY OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS. IN ADDITION TO HIS PARENTS AND SPOUSE HE WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY TWO SONS, ARTHUR AND JOSEPH PRICE, TWO BROTHERS, JAMES AND MARION PRICE, ONE SISTER, CECILIA COLEMAN, THREE GRANDCHILDREN, DARRELL, TRAVIS AND EDDIE JOE PRICE.
LIGE WAS KNOWN BY HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS AS LOUIS. LOUIS WAS A LONGTIME MEMBER OF THE ST. JAMES CATHOLIC PARISH OF POTOSI WHERE HE WAS DEDICATED TO ITS' TEACHINGS. DURING HIS MANY YEARS OF LABORING, HE HAD BEEN ASSOCIATED WITH MANY PROFESSIONS THROUGHOUT HIS WORKING YEARS. HE ENJOYED WELDING AND DOING MECHANIC WORK, HE ALWAYS SEEMED TO BE TINKERING WITH AUTOMOBILES AND SMALL ENGINES. LOUIS WAS A VETERAN OF THE UNITED STATES ARMY HAVING SERVED AND RECEIVED MANY COMMENDATIONS FOR HIS SERVICE.
LOUIS HAD AN OUTGOING PERSONALITY AND WAS ALWAYS WILLING TO SPEND TIME WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS. HIS CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN HELD A VERY DEAR PLACE IN HIS HEART. HIS MEMORY WILL LIVE ON FOREVER BY HIS GENEROSITY TO BOTH FAMILY AND NEIGHBORS.
VISITATION WAS HELD THURSDAY, JANUARY 28, 1999, FROM 4:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. AT THE GUM & SON FUNERAL HOME IN POTOSI.
A FUNERAL MASS WAS CELEBRATED FRIDAY, JANUARY 29, 1999, AT 10:00 A.M. AT THE ST. JAMES CATHOLIC CHURCH WITH FATHER GEORGE GALOVICH OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN ST. JOACHIM CATHOLIC CEMETERY UNDER THE DIRECTION OF GUM & SON FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI.
SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE, SCOTT BIRKE, TONY BIRKE, KATRINA PRICE, RANDY PRICE, KILEY PRICE AND DANNY PATERSON.
