Ilene Harriet Lewis, 75, died Saturday, July 17, 1999, in Prescott.
She was born Feb. 10, 1920, in Michigan.
Mrs. Lewis lived in Arizona most of her life. She worked as a professional cook. Her hobbies included fishing, camping, playing bingo and going to the horse races.
Survivors include two sons; nine brothers; stepdaughter, Susan French of Prescott; and one grandchild.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott.

Betty Bedell
Betty Bedell, 76, of Albuquerque, N.M., and a former Prescott resident, died Thursday, July 15, 1999, in Albuquerque.
She was born Jan. 14, 1923, in Kingfisher, Okla.
Mrs. Bedell worked as a dietitian for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Prescott, and as credit manager for Grimshaw Mortuary in Phoenix.
Survivors include her husband of 16 years, Al Hluzek of Albuquerque, N.M.; daughter, Ann Hunt of Ft. Worth, Texas; sons, Van and Randy of Minneapolis, Minn.; stepdaughter, Linda Wiseman of Tampa, Fla.; stepson, Al Hluzek Jr. of Sarasota, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Grand Court Retirement Center, 300 Valencia Drive SE, Albuquerque, N.M.
French Mortuary in Albuquerque, N.M., helped the family with arrangements.
George Baker
George R. Baker, 79, died Friday, July 16, 1999, at his home in Prescott.
He was born May 29, 1920, in North Grafton, Mass., to Raymond L. and Fannie (Nelson) Baker.
Mr. Baker served with the Eighth and Ninth Air Force in England and France during World War II. He retired from American Airlines after 30 years of service. He moved to Tucson from Framingham, Mass., and to Prescott in 1979.
Survivors include his brothers, James of Grafton, Mass., and Robert of Hawthorne, Fla.; half-brother, Paul Baker; and sister, Pearl Phillips of Sutton, Mass.
No services are planned.
Interment was in East Lawn Cemetery in Tucson.

Joseph Fleming
Joseph Robert Fleming, 74, died Sunday, July 18, 1999, at the Prescott Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 21, 1925, in Phoenix to Joseph R. and Alice (Peck) Fleming.
Mr. Fleming was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He worked as a cotton broker. His hobbies included fishing.
Survivors include his sons, Andy of Prescott Valley, and Mark of Phoenix; sister, Jane Hazelett of Phoenix; and three grandchildren.
Private cremation was at Bradshaw Crematory in Prescott Valley, with inurnment at Greenwood-Memory Lawn in Phoenix.

Phillip Scherer Jr.
Phillip Jacob Scherer Jr., 71, of Mayer died Monday, July 19, 1999, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 15, 1927, in Medina County, Ohio.
Mr. Scherer moved to Arizona from Medina County, Ohio, in 1975. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his daughters, Jill Scherer of Boston, Mass., Cathy Mitchell of Havredegrace, Md., Karen Lykins, and Jane Conway of Mayer; sons, Mike Lykins of Havredegrace, Md., Joe Lykins of Phoenix, Jack Scherer of Phoenix, and Kevin Lykins of New Orleans, La.; several grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Private services will be held at a later date.

Paul Brown
Paul William Brown, 41, of Prescott Valley, died Tuesday, July 13, 1999, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 30, 1958, in Newmarket, Ontario Canada, to George Edward Brown and Winnifred Carolyn (Myers) Potter.
Mr. Brown moved to Prescott from Thousand Oaks, Calif., in March 1975. He worked for over a year as a heavy equipment operator for Fann Construction.
He always dreamed of owning a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, but never had the opportunity to make it happen. He enjoyed building models and puzzles, but mostly loved life, and lived it to the fullest. He was proud of his children.
Survivors include his daughters, Laura Brown of Prescott Valley and Sarah Davis and Sadie Davis, both of Chino Valley; sons, Branden Brown of Prescott Valley and Ryan Goodell, Zachary Goodell and Miles Brown, all of Prescott; his mother, Winnifred Potter of Prescott; sister, Diana Wilson of Prescott; and brother, George, of Prescott.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Laurene Walton
Laurene H. Walton, 88, a former long-time Prescott resident, died Wednesday, July 14, 1999, in Mesa.
She was born Jan. 25, 1911, in Westboro, Mo., to Ben B. and Lucile (Walworth) Hurst.
Mrs. Walton and her husband, James, were married in 1934. They were both graduates of Iowa State University.
She was a retired home economist with the Arizona Public Service Co. She was a lifetime member of the Iowa State Univer-sity Alumni Asso-ciation, member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, American and Arizona Home Economics Asso-ciations, and the Arizona Public Service Retirees Association. She was a recipient of the Arizona Hall of Fame Award.
She was a past president and district director of the Prescott Business and Professional Women's Club, a 70-year member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and past president of Chapter BG Prescott. She was also a member of the Prescott Republican Women's Club. She was an honorary life member of the Yavapai Cowbelles and the Arizona Children's Home Association in Tucson.
Mrs. Walton enjoyed traveling to foreign countries and throughout the United States, observing varying customs and lifestyles.
Survivors include her daughter, Judith Johnson of Prescott; brothers, Charles Hurst of Milford, Conn., and Dr. Ben Hurst of Redding, Calif.; sister, Carolyn Fields of Glendale; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Prescott United Methodist Church, 505 W. Gurley St., with Pastor Daniel Hurlbert officiating.

Lawrence Kloft
Lawrence A. "Bud" Kloft, 70, of Mayer, died Wednesday, July 14, 1999, in Prescott.
He was born May 21, 1929, in Bellevue, Iowa, to Anton and Hilda (Joerger) Kloft.
Mr. Kloft and his wife, Lois, were married on Feb. 14, 1957, in Charles, Iowa. The couple moved to Arizona from Iowa 42 years ago.
He retired from the U.S. Public Health Service, Center of Disease Control in Phoenix, in 1984. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph's Catholic Church, both in Mayer.
Survivors include his wife, Lois of Mayer; sons, Reed of Williams, Mark and Timothy, both of Mayer, and Christopher of Phoenix; daughter, Laura Bain of Flagstaff; brothers, Lee of Phoenix and Paul of Peoria; sisters, Mary Putnam of Sun City, Rita Revoir of Phoenix and Margaret Matthews of Youngtown; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service was held Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mayer.
