Marvin Bennett
Marvin Evan Bennett, 86, died Saturday, June 12, 1999, at Rolling Hills Manor Guest Home in Prescott.
He was born Dec. 4, 1912, in Prescott, to Grant and Catherine Bennett.
Mr. Bennett grew up in Groom Creek and spent most of his life in Arizona. He married Marie Friess in 1945, and raised his four stepsons in Camp Verde.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mayer, a charter member of the Mayer Lions Club, a 25-year member of the Elks, and member of the Arizona Laborers, Teamsters and Cement Masons Local 395.
Survivors include his brother, Eugene of Mayer; sister, Irene McNeil of Nevada; and sons, Walter Friess of Connecticut, and Floyd Friess of California. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie; brother, Ralph; and sons, Charles and Richard Friess.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mayer, with Father Gerald Yaeger as celebrant.

Paul Kimmey
Paul Gerstner Kimmey, 72, died Saturday, June 12, 1999, in Prescott Valley.
He was born Jan. 25, 1927, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Paul and Beatrice (Cope) Kimmey.
Mr. Kimmey married Merne Murray on Aug. 1, 1982, at Milk Ranch Point, Ariz. He was a geographer for the county of Los Angeles, retiring in 1977.
He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Grangeville, Idaho, and a member of the Prescott Outings Club.
Survivors include his wife, Merne of Prescott Valley; daughters, Catherine Thompson of Auburn, Calif., Janet Klugiewicz of Bolinas, Calif., and Cynthia Klugiewicz of Port Angeles, Wash.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service for close friends will be held at noon Friday at Milk Ranch Point.

Evelyn Johnson
Evelyn A. Johnson, 74, died Saturday, June 12, 1999, in Prescott.
She was born Jan. 12, 1925, in Wayside, Wis., to Henry and Martha (Siedel) Maas. She lived in Prescott for 47 years.
Mrs. Johnson loved flower gardening, playing cards with her grandchildren, and dancing. She was an accomplished accordion player, specializing in German polka music.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, a good friend, and loving sister.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Floyd; daughter, Linda Johnson of Dewey; sons, Wayne and Gordon, both of Phoenix, and Milton and Ronald, both of Prescott; brothers, Herbert and Albert Maas, both of Reedsville, Wis., Gerhardt of Manitowoc, Wis., and Harry of Madison, Wis.; sisters, Tillie Spatchek of Reedsville, Wis., Emma Nooker and Malinda Maas, both of Two Rivers, Wis., and Laura Kosreuski and Martha Berglin, both of Manitowoc, Wis.; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Redwood Memorial Gardens in Dewey.

Raymond Gross
Raymond Leon Wanamaker Gross, 88, died Sunday, June 13, 1999, in Provo, Utah.
He was born April 8, 1911, in Helena, Mont., to Jacob Wanamaker and Mary (DeBorde) Wanamaker.
He grew up in Helena, and graduated from Helena High School in 1929, having participated in track and baseball. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and bowler.
Mr. Gross married Eudessa Gunn Evans on May 13, 1940, in Cordova, Alaska. They were later sealed in the Arizona Temple in 1962.
He was a pioneer businessman in Alaska, starting the first supermarket in Fairbanks in 1953. He flew the first fresh produce, meat and dairy products to Alaska. He was one of the founders of Midnight Sun Council of the BSA, and received the Silver Beaver Award. He helped build the first skyscraper in Fairbanks, and helped found the Alaska National Bank.
Mr. Gross moved to Prescott in 1961, where he founded a chain of grocery stores. He joined the Latter-day Saints Church in 1962. He served as Stake Missionary, High Counselor, Ward Mission Leader, and in the Stake Sunday School Presidency. He retired in 1975, and moved to Provo, Utah. He worked in the Provo LDS Temple on his genealogy and in the name extraction program.
Survivors include his wife, Eudessa; sons, Gary of Las Vegas, Nev., Bruce of Pleasant Grove, and David Wanamaker of Orem, Utah; daughters, Gayle Agla of Orem, Utah, and Barbara Scott of Provo, Utah; sister, Doris Wanamaker of Helena, Mont.; brother, Richard of Walla Walla, Wash.; 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Edgemont 20th Ward Chapel, 3500 N. 180 E., Provo, Utah. Friends may call from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., at the Chapel.
Interment will be at Orem City Cemetery.

Wade Coriaty
Wade David Coriaty, 88, died Sunday, June 13, 1999, in Prescott.
He was born July 4, 1910, in Lebanon, to David and Farida Coriaty.
Mr. Coriaty and his wife, Eva, were married July 11, 1944, in Detroit, Mich. He worked as a dispatcher for the Detroit Police Department, retiring in 1973.
He was a member of St. Germaine's Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus of Prescott Valley, the local American Legion and the Senior Friends Together Club.
Survivors include his daughter, Carol Ruda of Prescott Valley; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva, in January 1995; and son, Martin, in 1987.
A visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, with a rosary at 6 p.m. at Sunrise Funeral Home, 8167 E. Highway 69 in Prescott Valley.
A funeral Mass will be held at 8 a.m. Thursday at St. Germaine's Catholic Church, 7997 E. Dana Drive, in Prescott Valley, with Father Gerald Yaeger officiating.
Interment will be at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.

William Naylor
William Francis Naylor, 52, died Sunday, May 30, 1999, at his home in Dewey.
He was born Dec. 15, 1946, in Easton, Pa., to William Francis and Anne (Pickell) Naylor.
Mr. Naylor was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam era. He later married Jan Lorraine Hofmann.
He worked for many years as an inspector for the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Paralyzed Veterans of America. He enjoyed camping, reading, and all kinds of music.
Survivors include his wife, Jan of Darrington, Wash.; son, Frank Gott of Delaware; stepsons, Evan and Eli Craig, both of Delaware; brother, Drew of Delaware; sister, Robin, also of Delaware; his mother, Anne of Delaware; and two grandchildren.
Private cremation was at Bradshaw Crematory in Prescott Valley.

Henry Herridge
Henry Martin Herridge, 71, a Bagdad resident, died Thursday, June 10, 1999, in Prescott.
He was born Aug. 25, 1927, in Kingman to James and Mittie (Mills) Herridge.
For years, Mr. Herridge was a rodeo clown and participated in many other events in the Prescott rodeo. He also was a member of the American Legion post in Yarnell.
He was a loving husband, father, son and brother.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred of Bagdad: daughters, Leah Rice of Kingman, Cheri Herridge of Phoenix, and Patricia of Bagdad; sons, Dean of California and Fred of Bagdad; mother, Mittie of Kingman; brother, Erwin of Kingman; sister, Lenora of Colorado; and 13 grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at Memory Chapel Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave. in Prescott. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Genung Memorial Park in Peeples Valley.

Earl Root
Earl P. Root, 80, died Thursday, June 10, 1999, at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Prescott.
He was born Dec. 7, 1918, in Baldwinsville, N.Y., to Palmer and Martha (Connell) Root.
Mr. Root was a material coordinator for Honeywell for 30 years, retiring in 1981. He served as commander of the Sun City Posse in 1982.
He and his wife, Joyce, lived in Sun City and Phoenix from 1965 to 1989 after moving from St. Petersburg, Fla.
Mr. Root served in the Army during World War II. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and baseball.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce of Prescott; daughter, Cathleen Jones of Glendale; son, Martin of Boulder City, Nev.; brothers, Clyde of Syracuse, N.Y., and Claude of Nashua, N.H.; sister, Jane Sutton of Youngtown, Ariz.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury Ave. in Prescott.
