Robert Thomas
Robert L. Thomas, 81, of Prescott, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000, at the Yavapai Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 12, 1918, in Silver City, N.M., to Lewis H. and Olga (Edwards) Thomas.
Mr. Thomas retired from civil service as an inventory management spe#####t at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah. He married his wife, Lois, on Jan. 15, 1972, and they moved to Prescott in 1975.
They organized the Prescott Alano Club, which he opened every day and which he considered to be his lifetime achievement. He was a member of Prescott United Methodist Church, and volunteered at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Prescott.
Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Lois; stepsons, Jeffrey Stonebraker of Everett, Wash., and Edward Stonebraker of Layton, Utah; stepdaughter, Lynn Limbert of Coldwater, Mich.; brother, John of Mesa; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A time of remembrance will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, Cortez and Carleton streets, Prescott.
Private family services will be at Cryptside Cypress View Mausoleum in San Diego, Calif.

John Camp
John G. Camp, 96, of Prescott, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, in Prescott.
He was born Sept. 26, 1903, in St. Louis, Mo., to Frank and Margaret (Gatts) Camp.
Mr. Camp attended schools in St. Louis, Mo. He moved to Hollywood, Calif., in 1921. In 1932, he married Edna Elizabeth Brown.
He worked for Nabisco Brands for 42 years as a traveling representative, then as manager for Arizona and New Mexico and parts of Texas until 1942, when he transferred to the Oakland/San Francisco area as a manager of the Oakland East Bay area. He left management in 1950 after suffering a heart attack.
Mr. Camp then worked as a bakery spe#####t and sales representative and created special bakery products for bakeries in the San Francisco area. He retired in 1968, and moved to Prescott in 1971.
He was a member of the Skull Valley Bible Church, where he served as head usher and greeter for 21 years. He also served as a deacon for several years, baked cookies for Bible school for 20 years, and served on other committees and positions of service in the church.
Mr. Camp was a member of Gideons International, served as church assignment secretary, was a 32nd Degree Mason and belonged to the Scottish Rite.
He is survived by his wife, Edna; daughters, Jeanene Stone of Albert Lea, Minn., and Kathleen Pearson of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada; one brother; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
Memorial services will be at 11:15 a.m. Monday at Prescott Samaritan Village Chapel, with the Rev. James Beasley officiating.
Inurnment will be at Redwood Memorial Gardens in Dewey.

Lorraine Pusateri
Lorraine G. Pusateri, 67, of Prescott Valley, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott.
She was born May 22, 1932, in Chicago, Ill., to Steve and Mary Piernikowski.
Mrs. Pusateri graduated from Englewood High School. She married John Pusateri on April 21, 1951. She worked for 34 years for various companies as secretary and office assistant.
The Pusateris moved to Prescott Valley from Chicago, Ill., in May of 1990. She was a member of St. Germaine Catholic Church.
Mrs. Pusateri was a homemaker who loved tending to the needs of her family, and she enjoyed reading and listening to music.
She is survived by her husband, John; sons, John, James and Joseph, all of Chicago, Ill.; sisters, Helen Dreas and Rita Winters; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Germaine Catholic Church, 7997 E. Dana Drive, Prescott Valley, with Father John Shetler presiding.

Joyce Sayles
Joyce L. Sayles, 64, of Prescott Valley, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, in Prescott Valley.
She was born April 25, 1935, in Thayer, Mo., to Homer and Irene (Jones) Campbell.
Mrs. Sayles was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family and friends. She moved to Prescott from Kansas.
She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Sayles of Rimrock, Sandra Atcher of Prescott and Joyce Lee; son, Darrel; 18 grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters.
Private cremation services were at Bradshaw Crematory.

Eugenia Bryant
Eugenia C. Bryant, 84, of Prescott Valley, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000, in Prescott Valley.
She was born July 23, 1915, in Pentoga, Mich., to Francis and Jennie (De Rosier) Chassee.
Mrs. Bryant moved to Prescott Valley in 1974. She was a World War II veteran. She was a sheetmetal worker for McDonnell- Douglas Corp. in Missouri for 11 years.
She was an active member of Prescott Community Church, serving as church librarian and in the women's fellowship. She was a member of Qurious Questers. She enjoyed Bible studies, crafts and needlepoint, with a special love of African violets.
Mrs. Bryant is survived by her husband, Edward, and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Memory Chapel Mortuary.

Richard White Sr.
Richard S. White, Sr., 83, of Prescott, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000, in Prescott.
He was born April 26, 1916, in Beaver, Utah, to Roy and Metta (Hutching) White.
Mr. White served in the U.S. Army Armored Division in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He worked as head gardener for a school district, and after moving to Chino Valley in 1970 he worked as head of maintenance at the Yavapai County Courthouse until he retired in 1978. He also worked part-time for the U.S. Forest Service.
He enjoyed spending time camping in the forest. He was proudest of receiving the Lord as his personal savior in March of 1974.
Mr. White is survived by his daughters, Betty Templin of Chino Valley and Sandra Cook of Prescott; sons, Richard Jr. of Kingman and Arlon of Prescott; 14 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday in Memory Chapel Mortuary. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Chino Valley. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Word of Life Church, 590 W. Road 1, Chino Valley.

Angelita Hernandez
Angelita Hernandez, 89, of Bagdad, died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at Mountain View Manor in Prescott.
She was born Jan. 30, 1910, in Clifton, to Cleofas and Guadalupe (Sedillos) Gutierrez.
Mrs. Hernandez lived most of her life in Arizona, and also lived in New Mexico. She enjoyed practical jokes and storytelling, and spent her retirement years traveling. She was a loving person who not only raised her children, but her grandson as well.
She is survived by her daughter, Evangeline Gavaldon of Bagdad; sister, Anita Marquez of Salt Lake City, Utah; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Memory Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Saturday at Memory Chapel.
A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Prescott.

George Melhart
George Franklin Melhart, 80, of Chino Valley, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 1999, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Prescott.
He was born Feb. 15, 1919, in Sumner, Wash., to George and Jessie (Porter) Melhart.
Mr. Melhart was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a carrier for 25 years.
Mr. Melhart was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Chino Valley, the American Legion, the Grange and N.A.R.F.E.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel; daughters, Louise Vitek of San Jose, Calif., and June Tilley of Parowan, Utah; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Veterans Medical Center Chapel in Prescott, with military honors by American Legion Post 6. Chaplain Albert Bentley will officiate. Burial will follow at the Chino Valley Cemetery in Chino Valley.
