Christopher Towles
Christopher Lee Towles, a carpenter and art lover, 25, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 1997, in Prescott. He was born January 12, 1972, in Eugene, Oregon, to Carl F. and Lillian E. (Foarde) Towles.
Mr. Towles was a carpenter in the construction industry. He loved music and all forms of art, and enjoyed the outdoors and camping.
Survivors include his mother, Lillian of Prescott Valley; his father, Carl of Oregon; a son, Stephen of Flagstaff; a sister, Connica L. Towles of Prescott; brother, Charles L. of Salt Lake City, Utah; and grandparents, George and Merle Thompson of Prescott. Private family services were held.

Lucy Tena
Lucy M. Duran Tena, 91, of Prescott, died Wednesday, September 17, 1997, in Sun City. She was born August 1, 1906, in Ensenada, New Mexico, to Antonio and Rufina (Martinez) Madrid. Mrs. Tena was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prescott.
Survivors include daughters, Sophie Brambila of Prescott, Millie Ocampo of Prescott Valley, Andrea Garcia of Greeley, Colorado, Virginia Calzado of El Mirage, Katherine Alvarado of Fullerton, California, Bernice Perez of El Mirage, Mae Smith of San Jose, California, and Agnes Valenzula of Prescott Valley; sons, Albino, Ernesto, and Orlando, all of Prescott, and Donald of Las Vegas, Nevada; brothers, Joe Madrid of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Victor Madrid of Salt Lake City, Utah; 56 grandchildren, 112 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Anthony; and daughter, Isabel.
Visitation was held at Memory Chapel Mortuary, in Prescott. A Rosary was said at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Frank Pyka, C.M.F., leading the Rosary.
A Mass of the Resurrection was held at Sacred Heart. Father Fred Le Claire, C.M.F., was the celebrant. Interment followed at the Prescott National Cemetery.

Jacqueline Farris
Jacqueline Pearl Farris, a musician, 61, died Sunday, September 21, 1997, in Winslow. She was born January 14, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois. She was active in the Golden Girls Band in Kentucky, playing the piano, drums and guitar, along with singing. She loved arts and crafts.
Survivors include her husband, Willie Farris of Madisonville, Kentucky; son, Michael Campagna of Phoenix; daughters, Debra McKinney of Scottsdale, Beth Carlson of Winslow, Gloria Rogers of Scottsdale, and Jami Kwaad of Phoenix; sisters, Francis "Boots" Jackson of Mayer, Josephine Huddleston of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and June Kellett of Cordes Junction; and 10 grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at Mayer Community Church, with Pastor Tom Ernst officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Greer's Mortuary of Winslow.
Lillian Woolworth
Lillian F. Woolworth, aformer piano teacher, 99, died Thursday, September 25, 1997, at a local care center. She was born November 2, 1897, in Osage, Iowa, to August and Bertha (Mulle) Lesch.
Mrs. Woolworth had been a Prescott resident for the last seven years. She lived in Mesa from 1950 to 1959, when she moved to Escondido, California. She moved back to Mesa after her husband, Roy, passed away in 1970.
She and her husband farmed in Mitchell County, Iowa, for many years. She taught piano in her early years. She started painting in 1965, which she enjoyed, and was a member of the Tempe Artist Guild.
Survivors include her daughter, Doris Davis of Dewey; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at the Hampton Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob Hanson officiating.

Guy Hilton
Guy William Hilton, 63, died Friday, September 26, 1997, at Prescott Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was born September 25, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, to David and Helen (Bittke) Hilton.
Mr. Hilton moved to Prescott Valley from Santa Monica, California, in June 1989. He was employed by G.K. Development for two years as an apartment manager, retiring in June 1989.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1952. He enjoyed going to the beach and four-wheeling with his children, and fishing with the family. He was the proudest of his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Janice; sons, Daniel of Prescott, Steven of Portage, Indiana, Michael of Homewood, Illinois and James of Evanston, Illinois; daughters, Victoria Hilton of Prescott Valley, Linda Potter of Ontario, Wisconsin, and Laura Lute, Cindy Hendersen and Dianne Hilton, all of Portage, Indiana; brothers, Paul Bittke of Portage, and Robert Bittke of Gary, Indiana; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A private cremation was held at Mountain View Crematory in Prescott, with inurnment in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, in Phoenix. Additional family services were pending.

Lloyd Schroeder
Lloyd G. Schroeder, a former refrigeration repairman, 83, died Thursday, October 2, 1997, at his home in Dewey. He was born December 13, 1913, in Minot, North Dakota, to Edward and Rose (Graser) Schroeder. He was a repairman in the refrigeration industry for many years, in Minnesota and Orange County, California. He retired in 1972. Mr. Schroeder moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, from California in 1972, then to Dewey three months ago.
Survivors include his wife, Vera, of Nevada; daughter, Sandra Deines of Dewey; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. His son, Roger, preceded him in death in 1987.
Private family services were held.

Robert Seefeld
Robert Ervin Seefeld, 72, a former marketer and real estate broker, died Friday, October 3, 1997, at his home in Prescott Valley. He was born March 1, 1925, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Ervin W. and Frances (Schaefer) Seefeld.
Mr. Seefeld served in the Army during World War II. He received the Legion of Merit, French Croix de Guerre, and the Presidential Unit Citation after serving in Europe.
He received his degree from the University of Arizona in business administration. He was a marketing manager for Bankers Life and Casualty. Later he was a real estate broker.
He married Irene Samsel on October 11, 1975. They moved to Prescott Valley from Eugene, Oregon, in 1990. He served as chairman of the board of elders at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Prescott Valley for six years.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Irene, of Prescott Valley; stepson, Michael Samsel of Tucson; stepdaughter, Judy Biggs of Tucson; adopted daughter, Kristina; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorial services were held at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Pastor Stephen Hein officiating. Burial was at Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix.

Helen Earl
Helen M. Earl, a retired dental assistant, 69, died Saturday, October 4, 1997, at her home in Prescott Valley. She was born November 3, 1927, in Williamsburg, Iowa, to Fredrick L. and Betty (Auedupuhl) Wardenburg.
She had been a resident of the Prescott/Prescott Valley area for the past 42 years.
Mrs. Earl was a retired dental assistant. After retirement, she participated in craft unlimited shows and was an avid fisherwoman. She also provided in-home care for private individuals for a number of years.
Survivors include daughter, Mary Jane Hopf of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; son, Robert P. Earl, Jr. of Prescott Valley; brothers, Truman, Robert, Ronnie Wayne and Donnie; sister, Maryline Herring; two grandsons and one granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert P. Earl, Sr.; father, Fred L. Wardenburg; mother, Betty Wardenburg; and brother, Richard Wardenburg.
Memorial services were held at Hampton Funeral Home, with Pastor Andrew Byars officiating. Interment is at the family plot in the Mountain View Cemetery.
