Mattos was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; a daughter, Shirley; and is survived by daughters Diane Silva and Patti Burns; a sister, Olivia Pollard; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Ave., Cottonwood, from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 27.
A funeral Mass takes place at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 28, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 700 N. Bill Gray Road, Cottonwood.

Thomas Cairns
Nov. 30, 1925 — Oct. 20, 2006
Thomas Cairns, 81, of Cottonwood, died Friday, Oct. 20.
Cairns was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis E. Cairns; and is survived by his wife, Diane L. Cairns; a son, Kevin I. [Janina] Cairns, of Las Vegas; and daughters Sherlene Healy, Cottonwood, and Alison LoParco, Phoenix.
Services will be private.

Kathryn Haynes
Feb. 14, 1928 – Oct. 19, 2006
Kathryn Haynes, 78, of Cottonwood, died Thursday, Oct. 19.
Haynes is survived by her long-time companion, Bob Korb; sons Peter Hester and Daniel [Lee] Hester; daughter Marciana [Phillip] Moyer; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held in Ash Fork.
Donations may be sent to any hospice organization.

Sherris R. Winchester

Sherris Rose Winchester, 19, died Oct. 17, in Cornville.
Winchester was the daughter of Joe and Donnita Webb; and the sister of Dallas Nielsen, Amethyst Webb and Cheyenne Webb.
Winchester’s memorial service will take place on Thursday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m., at Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Ave., Cottonwood.

Charles Hill

Charles Hill, 62, of Cottonwood, died Oct. 18.
Hill was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlene; granddaughter, Carrie; and is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons Charles and Travis [Jennifer]; daughters Cheryl, Janet, Stacy and Erin; brothers Bill [Michelle] and Dick [Joyce] and Wayne Fretz; a sister, Shirley [Odie]; and 12 grandchildren.
A memorial service took place Oct. 21 at Westcott Funeral Home, in Cottonwood.

Harold Bissell, 79, of Cottonwood, died Thursday, Oct. 19.
Bissell is survived by his wife, Lucille Bissell; sons, Donald [Donna] Yeley, Robert [Judy] Yeley, all of Kansas, and Jack [Judy] Yeley, of Goodyear.
A memorial service took place at Westcott Funeral Home, in Cottonwood, on Saturday, Oct. 21.

Erwin Nems

Erwin Nems, 88, of Cottonwood, died Oct. 19.
Nems was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; and is survived by a son, William, and a daughter, Debra, both of Cottonwood; and three grand-children.
Visitation takes place Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Ave., Cottonwood.
A graveside service takes place Thursday, Oct. 26, at 3 p.m., at the Sedona Community Cemetery.

Lela Kring, 85, of Cottonwood, died Saturday, Oct. 21.
Kring is survived by her husband, Vaughn A. Kring; a son, Andrew V. [Linda] Kring; a daughter, Sandra Lee; brothers Kenny and Eugene Moore; and three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are Thursday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m. at Valley View Cemetery, in Clarkdale.

Zaida Fahey

Zaida Fahey, 89, of Camp Verde, born in Port Leyden, N.Y., died Dec. 18.
Fahey was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton, an infant son, Carlton “Buddy” Jr.; and is survived by children Michael, Kathleen, Maureen, Mary, Timothy, Patrick, Daniel and Brian; sister, Hilda; and 23 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
A funeral Mass took place at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church, in Camp Verde, Saturday, Dec. 23.

Boots was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings. Survivors include his wife, LaVersa; sons Gary, Ron [K.J.], Ray [Mary]; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter; a nephew and a niece.

Born in Tehran, Iran, Hunseder is survived by her only son, Nick Hunseder and his wife, Debbie, of Clarkdale.
A memorial service will take place Friday, Jan. 26, at 2 p.m., at Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Ave., Cottonwood.

Roper served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and received the Purple Heart.
Roper was preceded by a sister, Jeannie; and is survived by his wife, Bonnie; daughters Renee, of Phoenix, Robin, of Colorado; stepsons Brian [Sandra], Jodie [Pam] and Chadd, all of Illinois; brothers Norbert, of Illinois, Robert [Marge], of Florida; and seven grandchildren.
