Lawrence James Schafer

Age: 81
Lawrence (Red) James Schafer, 81, of Jamestown passed away Thursday, July 10, 2003, at 7:16 p.m. in the Greene Memorial Hospital. He was born Aug. 7, 1921, in Ross Twp. Greene County, Ohio and the son of William Paul and Mary Ann Taylor Schafer.
Lawrence retired from farming in 1987 after 48 years in Greene and Madison counties. He attended the Grape Grove Church of Christ and was a member of the Farm Bureau.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Ruby Hammond Smith Schafer in 1968; one son Larry Dean Schafer; daughter-in-law Margaret Louis Duncan Schafer; a brother Paul Woodrow Schafer; and his parents.
His survivors include his wife of 32 years Irma Jean Redman-Hartman Schafer, whom he married Aug. 14, 1970; three stepsons and daughters-in-law, Ronald (Margaret) Smith of Beavercreek, Richard (Karen) Hartman, and Michael (Marcia) Hartman, both of Jamestown; one stepdaughter and son-in-law, Janet (Robert) Fetters of Chillicothe; and one brother Ralph Schafer of Jamestown; grandchildren Scott and Steven Schafer, Rhonda Smith DeWinter, Ronald Eugene Smith Jr., Renee, Craig, Michael Ryan, and Joshua Ray Hartman; five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be Monday, July 14, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. in the Morrow Funeral Home, Jeffersonville. Keith Little will be officiating. Burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery, Jeffersonville.
A gathering of friends and family will be Sunday from 5-7 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions are requested to the Silver Creek Volunteer Fire Dept., 28 E. Xenia, Jamestown, Ohio 45335.

Tina Lynette Williams

Age: 41
Tina Lynette Williams, 41, Sandy Hook, Ky., passed away Thursday, July 10, 2003, at her residence. She was born July 31, 1961, in Dayton, the daughter of Shirrell and Elizabeth Mae Smith Creech Sr.
She is survived by her fiancé, Carter Ison, Sandy Hook, Ky.; her daughter, Jessica Cantrell, Bellbrook; her parents, Elizabeth and Loren Donaldson, Xenia; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Abby, Jayden, Bellbrook; sister and brothers, Gina Cox, Kettering, Dean Creech, Kettering, William Lahew, Xenia; grandparents, Mae and James Ely, Riverside; two step-sisters and a step-brother; nieces and nephews, Tara Shea, Blake, Mackenzie, Quentin, and Toni; and many aunts, uncles, and friends.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at the Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Rev. John Lockwood officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 noon Tuesday, until service time.
Contributions may be made to the grandson in her memory.
Mary Hazel Waugh
Died: Wednesday, July 09, 2003
Age: 86
Mary Hazel Waugh, 86, Xenia, her duties here all finished, departed this life, Wednesday, July 9, 2003, peacefully at her home with her family at her bedside. Hazel was born in Highland County, to Aquilla S. Gorman and Melvina Shanks Gorman on July 25, 1916.
She was a member of the Xenia Christian Center, where in past years, she taught Sunday School, was a Red Cross volunteer, she served, as the historian at the American Legion Post #95, and Chaplain of the Ladies Auxiliary in 1993. During World War II, she worked at Wright-Patterson in the Blue Print Department.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer L. Waugh and a brother, George Lester Gorman.
She is survived by two sons, Homer K. Waugh and wife, Peggy, and Donald Waugh; two daughters, Connie Martin and husband, Glenn, and Edith Waugh; two grandchildren, Daniel Martin and April Martin McIntosh and husband, Jimmy; and a great-grandson, James McIntosh.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2003, at the Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Pastor Edith Brooks officiating.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. Monday, until service time.
Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
Robert Howard Foskuhl

Age: 84
Robert Howard Foskuhl, 84, of Beavercreek, OH passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at the Hospice of Dayton after a brief illness.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy R. (Wright) Foskuhl; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lynne and Gary Hook, of Beavercreek, Susan and David Baker, of Beavercreek, Sharon and Michael Todd, of Minneapolis, MN; a sister, Dorothy Schumaker, of Miamisburg; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
Robert retired as a Senior Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force after 22 years of service.
He was also retired from the Beavercreek School System.
He was a member of Kirkmont Presbyterian Church in Beavercreek and the Harveysburg Masonic Lodge.
Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2003, at the Tobias Funeral Home, Beavercreek, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road. Reverend Eric J. Laverentz officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday. Interment will be in Beechwood Cemetery in Morning Sun, OH with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
Patricia Mae Williams
Died: Wednesday, July 09, 2003
Age: 71
Patricia Mae Williams, 71, of Fruitland Park, FL, died Wed., July 9, 2003, in Tavares, FL. She was born Feb. 10, 1932 in Bellaire, OH, a daughter of the late Melvin and Sylva Phillips McLoud.
Patricia was a data-processor with Wright-Patterson Airbase, Dayton, and was a 1950 graduate of Bellaire High School.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Harold Williams in 1990.
Surviving is her daughter, Danielle Grace Williams of Leesburg, FL; and two brothers, George Bradley McLoud of Fairborn, OH, and Ed McLoud of South Lyon, MI.
Friends will be received on Friday, July 11 from 6-8 p.m. at the Bauknecht Altmeyer Funeral Home, 441-37th St., Bellaire where services will be held on Sat., July 12 at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow in Davis Cemetery, Bellaire.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lake and Sumter Counties, Florida.
William Raymond Drury

Age: 72
William Raymond Drury, 72, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at his home in Beavercreek after a lengthy illness.
He was Assistant Dean for Special Projects in the School of Education and Allied Professions at the University of Dayton; a former Superintendent of Beavercreek Schools from 1971 through 1984 and a Korean War Veteran (USAF).
He is survived by his wife, Marilynn; sons, John and wife, Joyce Drury of Brooklyn, NY, and David Drury of Kettering, OH; daughters, Susan Gray of Beavercreek, and Jill Drury
of Kettering; granddaughter, Sierra Rae Drury; and grandson, William Pearl Drury of Brooklyn; sister, Helen Keefe; brothers, John and Allan Drury, all of Rhode Island; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Crawford.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the University of Dayton Chapel at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2003, with Father Joseph Massucci officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Funeral Mass.
Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery in Dayton.

Clifford Lee Cross

Clifford Lee Cross, 85, of Xenia, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at Liberty Nursing Home, Xenia.
He was born on Oct. 3, 1917, in Xenia, Ohio, the son of Frank R. and Flora Lee (Durr) Cross.
Mr. Cross was a World War II veteran having served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Xenia Christian Center.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Jo (Bartley) Cross in June 1981; a sister, Louise Reese; and a brother, Edward Cross.
He is survived by his sister, Shirley Schneider of Xenia; two brothers, Charles W. Cross of Nebraska, and Richard Wilson of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 11, 2003, at 10 a.m. at Valley View Memorial Garden. The family is being served by McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia, Ohio 45385.
Mildred Fudge
Died: Tuesday, July 08, 2003
Age: 97
Mildred Fudge, 97, of St. Petersburg, FL, died Tuesday (July 8, 2003) at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Petersburg. Born in Dayton, OH, she moved to St. Petersburg in 1972 from Fairborn, OH.
She retired in 1967 from working in the Fairborn School Cafeteria for the Fairborn School System. She was Protestant.
Survivors include one daughter, Phyllis Hall, Seffner, FL; one son, Larry R. Fudge, Riverview, FL; two grandchildren, Steven Hall and Susan Hall-LaPlante; two great-grandchildren, Suzanne and Craig Hall; and her beloved dog, Vida.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center-McLeod Chapel, 1915-62nd Ave. N., St. Petersburg.
