Robert E. Hull Jr.

Age: 31
Robert E. Hull Jr., 31, of Xenia, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at Greene Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Sept. 5, 1971, in Xenia, Ohio, the son of Robert E. Hull Sr. and Deborah Kay (Lapple) Kyne.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Esther Lapple and Frances and Henry Hull.
Robert enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and playing horseshoes.
He was employed by the Xenia City Schools.
He is survived by his wife, Jayne M. (Gordon) Hull, whom he married on May 6, 1988; his parents, Robert E. (Mary) Hull Sr. of Xenia and Deborah K. (Donald) Kyne of Xenia; two sons, Andrew Hull and Robert E. Hull III; two sisters, Nema (Bryan) Ritchie and Miranda Sue Hull, both of Xenia; a brother, Timothy (Charlene) Hull of Waynesville; his mother-in-law, Anna Matthews of Xenia; a sister-in-law, Melissa Gnau of Xenia; and a brother-in-law, Robert (Heather) Hill of Xenia; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and many friends and other family members, all who will miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 12, 2003, at 10 a.m. at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia, Ohio 45385 with Pastor Dave McClellan officiating.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 11, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia.

Tammy Denise Snapp

Age: 35
Tammy Denise Snapp, 35, of Xenia, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at Greene Memorial Hospital. She was born in Xenia, Ohio, on Nov. 27, 1967, the daughter of Gerald D. and Phyllis A. (Marshall) Snapp.
Tammy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bruce and Thelma Snapp and Henry and Lola Marshall.
She is survived by her parents, Gerald and Phyllis Snapp of Xenia; a brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Lou Ann Snapp of KY; two nieces, Emily and Savannah Snapp, also KY; aunts, uncles, cousins and many special friends at Greenewood Manor.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 11, 2003, at 10 a.m. at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia, Ohio 45385, with Pastor Jim Wylie officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2003, at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Mt. Carmel, KY.

Luther Kerns
Died: Monday, July 07, 2003
Age: 89
Luther Kerns, 89, of Bellbrook, passed away Monday, July 7, 2003. He was a resident of Bellbrook most of his life.
He was born on May 14, 1914, in Dryden, VA, to Alice (Sloane) and Sheely Kerns.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters, and son-in-law Dale Pitstick.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Eva (Bledsoe) Kerns; daughters Jo Ann Gann and her husband Ralph of Beavercreek, Carolyn Pitstick of Xenia; and son Larry Kerns and his wife Rebecca of Richardson, TX; two sisters, Maude Barker of VA and Margaret Stahl of IL; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and close friends.
He was a farmer, retired from Frigidaire Division of GM, and formerly made snow at Bellbrook's Sugarcreek Ski Hills when it was in operation.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Wed., July 9, at Tobias-Conner & Koch Funeral Home, 92 W. Franklin St. (S.R. 725), Bellbrook. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Officiating Pastor John Lockwood of the Bethel Community Church in Xenia.

Ruby Kathryn (Johnson) Belt
Died: Monday, July 07, 2003
Age: 83
Ruby Kathryn (Johnson) Belt, at age 83, she winged her way to heaven. She was born Jan. 30, 1920.
She was ill for some time. Born in Hanging Rock, Ohio.
One of 10 children born to Milford and Hazel (Klaiber) Johnson.
Her parents, three brothers and four sisters preceded her in death. Also her husband Francis C. Belt.
She is survived by six children; one brother and one sister, Norma and Chuck Hogan of Dayton, Carroll (Ike) and Pat Belt of Chandler, Arizona, Janet Lang of Dayton, Trisha and George Wiget of Wilmington, Ohio, Brenda and George Henry of Xenia, Pamela and Bill Woodson of Xenia; sister Pearl Mohr of Marion, Ohio; and brother Milford Johnson of Dayton, Ohio. Ruby was blessed with 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was a super mom, grandmother, friend and was loved by all. She retired from Dayton State Hospital after 27 years.
She loved dancing and was an avid euchre player. She donated her body
to Wright State Anatomical Department.
Donations may be given to Wright State Anatomical Department or the Alzheimer Foundation.
Memorial services will be held at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, Ohio, July 10, 2003. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. for visitation with services following.
Pastor Terry Hall will officiate.
Sam Horton
Died: Monday, July 07, 2003
Age: 78
Sam Horton, 78, of Fairborn, passed away Monday, July 7, 2003, in Springfield at St. John's Center. He was born Nov. 11, 1924, in Garrett, Kentucky, the son of Troy and Dolly Chaffins Horton.
He retired from Harrison Radiator and was a decorated Veteran of three European War Theaters in WWII. He was a member of the VFW Post 6560.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Ann and James Armstrong of Enon, Ohio; two sons and daughters-in-law, Sam and Connie Horton Jr. of Linden, Michigan, and Richard and Sheryl Horton of Worthington, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Todd Armstrong, Kevin Armstrong, Sean Armstrong, Brett Armstrong, Kyle Horton, Miles Horton and Riley Horton; one great-granddaughter, Eliza; sisters, Jeanette Banks of Ashville, Ohio, Gypsy and husband Vincent Didato of Akron, Ohio, Louise Blanton and husband Herschel of Hebron, Indiana, and Barbara Kazee and husband Burl of Ashville, Ohio; brothers, Henry Horton and wife Alice of Fairborn, Ohio, Dempsey Horton and wife Arlene of Dunedin, Florida, David Horton and wife Willene of Fairborn, Ohio, Donald Horton and wife Carol of Mount Sterling, Kentucky, and Rondal Horton and wife Brenda of Valparaiso, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife, Marie Horton; a son, Elwood Horton; brothers, Jessie and Burt Horton; and sisters, Jessie Banks and Thelma Jean Harris.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 11, at 11 a.m. at Burcham Funeral Home, 119 East Main Street, Fairborn, Ohio.
Friends may call in the Burcham Funeral Home one hour prior to the services.
Interment will be in Byron Cemetery.
Hazel E. (Agnor) Bowles
Died: Monday, July 07, 2003
Age: 92
Hazel E. (Agnor) Bowles, 92, Bellbrook, passed away at her home Monday morning, July 7, 2003. She was born near Xenia on May 18, 1911, the eldest of five children of Scott L. and Mary J. (Talbott) Agnor.
Hazel was a caring person, always ready to help in any way she could. For many years, she was very active in the Ladies Sewing Circle and the Steady Gleaners Class of the Bellbrook Presbyterian Church, where she held membership.
An avid quilter, she created many beautiful quilts for her family and many friends. She loved flowers and enjoyed tending her many lovely flower beds and her vegetable garden.
She was preceded in death in 1990 by her husband of 55 years, Samuel L. (Sam) Bowles, a Bellbrook barber for many years; her parents; a sister, Ethel Ary; and two brothers, Charles and Billy.
Survivors include her sister, Phyllis J. Shoup, Beavercreek; her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Gene Reeves, Spring Valley; three grandchildren, Judy Reeves, Long Beach, Calif., Chuck Reeves, and Jill (Tim) Jacobs; and two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Elaina Vienne Jacobs, all of Spring Valley.
She was called "Great One" by her great-grandchildren. She is also, survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She will be sadly missed by all.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2003, at the Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Rev. Theresa-Wood Burgess officiating. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday.
Burial will be in Bellbrook Cemetery.
Lance David Fuller

Lance David Fuller, 35, of Fairborn, Ohio, passed away Monday, July 7, 2003, in Miami Valley Hospital. He was born Sept. 19, 1967, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Gerald A. and Priscilla (Brock) Fuller.
Mr. Fuller is survived by his father and stepmother, Gerald A. and Becky Fuller of Panama City Beach, Florida; his mother, Priscilla Anne Fuller of Springfield, Ohio; a brother and his spouse, Sgt. First Class Shane and Kimberly Fuller of Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio; paternal grandparents, Harry and Marie Fuller of Columbus, Ohio; maternal grandparents, Thomas C. and Mildred Motes of Conyers, Georgia; two uncles, William Fuller of Danville, Kentucky, and Robert Fuller of Lockport, New York; an aunt, Linda Bryant of Columbus, Ohio; and two nieces, Heather Fuller and Megan Fuller.
Memorial services for Lance will be held Sunday, July 13, 2003, in the Burcham Funeral Home, 119 E. Main Street, Fairborn, Ohio, at 2 p.m.
Hollis E. Kensinger
Died: Tuesday, July 01, 2003
Age: 76
Hollis E. Kensinger, 76, formerly of Fairborn passed away July 1, 2003, at Liberty Nursing Center in Jamestown.
He was born in St. Paul, Minn., July 8, 1926, the son of Harold and Sadie Kensinger.
A retired postal employee, he served in the U.S. Navy in WWII and was a 1st Lt. serving with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
His parents, wife Helen Kensinger, brother Robert and a sister Deloris preceded him in death.
He is survived by a brother-in-law, Bill and wife Barbara Roberts of Dayton.
Burial will be in the Fairfield Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
