1868 Lydia Howden 1958

Lydia Ann Howden passed away Sunday June 8 at 12 o'clock midnight at the age of 89. Lydia Ann Widdowson was born Dec 6 1868, in Granby, Nottinghamshire, England, where she spent her childhood and girlhood. At 19 years of age she was united in marriage with Joseph Howden and shortly thereafter, they came to America and settled near Parkersburg, Iowa. Twelve children were born to this union. Later they moved to Ulen, Minn., and then, near Austin. Prior to her death, Mrs. Howden made her home with a son, Edward of Nekoosa,Wis., with whom she still lived at the time of her death.

Her husband and four sons and a daughter preceeded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing, seven children, Rufus of Milwaukee, Edward of Nekoosa, Douglas of Chicago, Mrs. Herman Heiden of Meeteetsee, Wyo., Mrs. Joseph Iverson, Mrs. Arthur Weiland,and Mrs. Harlen Albright, Milwaukee; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1:30pm Wednesday June 11 1958 at the Mayer Funeral Home. The Rev. Frank M. Peterson of the Brownsdale Baptist Church officiating. Internment was in Enterprise Cemetery."
