Harold Kendall Ward
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 11065 S.W. North Dakota, Tigard, for Harold Kendall Ward, who died Dec. 14 at age 89. Mr. Ward was born May 19, 1911, in Lamar, Colo. He worked as a carpenter on the Grand Coulee Dam project before moving to Portland during World War II to work in the Kaiser shipyards. He was a construction superintendent for various companies until retiring in 1970, and he was a member of the church. In 1936, he married Alma McCombs; she died in 1992.
Survivors include his daughters, Sharron Ogden and Deanna Pretlow; sons, Hal K. and David; sister, Dolpha Clements; 19 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. His daughter Sylvia died in 1949.
Interment will be in Crescent Grove Cemetery. The family suggests remembrances to the National Kidney Foundation of Oregon and Southwest Washington. Arrangements are by Pegg, Paxson & Springer Chapel.
