Anthony Marquise Moseley
Anthony Marquise Solamon Moseley, age seven months, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., passed away Monday, May 4, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla.
Anthony was born in Pensacola on Oct. 7, 1997, to Laura Moseley and Marc McCready. Throughout his short life span he was a bundle of joy to all who knew him.
Baby Anthony leaves to mourn his cherished memories his mother, Laura Moseley; father, Marc McCready; brother, Alex Moseley; maternal grandparents, Steve and Sherry Moseley; godmother, Angela Neal, all of Fort Walton Beach; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family wish to thank everyone for their support during their time of bereavement.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 7, in Beal Memorial Cemetery.

Arthur R. Herndon
Arthur R. Herndon, age 63, of Niceville, Fla., passed away in a local health care facility Monday, May 4, 1998.
He was born on May 24, 1934, in Shouns, Tenn., and had been a resident of the local area for the past 45 years, moving here from Virginia. He was Protestant by faith. Mr. Herndon honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Mabel; son, Roger Herndon of Niceville; daughter, Dana and son-in-law, Aaron Broxson of Mary Esther, Fla.; brothers, Gary Herndon and Cecil Herndon; sisters, Margie Cockburn, Dorothy Rainwater and Donna Knight; grandchildren, Wesley Cumbie and Wendy Fowler; and great-grandchild, Angelica Fowler.
Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, May 7, at Hatcher Cemetery in Freeport at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at a visitation at graveside one hour prior to services. The Rev. Lowery Brown will officiate.

Benjamin F. Peterson
Benjamin F. "Pete" Peterson, age 84, died Thursday, April 30, 1998, at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.
He was formerly employed by Shalimar Yacht Basin.
Mr. Peterson was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Ruth Peterson. He leaves to mourn his passing his children, Charles Peterson of Minneapolis, Mary J. Broaden of Union Springs, Ala., Billy M. Roger of Montgomery, Ala., Annie R. Florence of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Shirley "A" Saxby of Salt Lake City, and Lawrence Peterson of Tallahassee, Fla.; and nine grandchildren.
Friends may call at Gregg Chapel AME Church, 34 Carson Drive, on Friday, May 8, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 9, in Gregg Chapel AME Church, with the Rev. I.E. Cotton, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Beal Memorial Cemetery.
Ruth O. Winks
Ruth O. Winks, age 77, of 207 Pippin Drive, Mary Esther, Fla., passed away Monday, May 4, 1998, at Gulf Breeze Hospital.
She was born in Lewistown, Ill., on June 8, 1920, to Jacob and Edna Young. She married Guy Carleton Winks on June 5, 1947. She had resided in this area for the last 20 years, after traveling the world as a U.S. Air Force family.
Mrs. Winks was active in the Womens International Bowling Congress for many years, participating locally most at Playground and White Sands Bowling Centers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Guy C. Winks in 1978. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Nick and Linda Winks of Westerville, Ohio; daughter, Susan Escobedo of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; daughters and sons-in-law, Marian and Bud Reece of Navarre, Fla., and Andi and Tom Boland of Enon, Ohio; 10 grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; and her brother, Myron Young of Lewistown.
Sincere thanks are extended by the family to Doctors Fedosky, Powell, Snyder, Espenscheid, Rubey, Suzanne Meany and all the caring staff of Bay Breeze Nursing Center and Gulf Breeze Hospital. Special thanks also to the Florosa Fire Department Emergency Squad and the Rural/Metro Ambulance Service.

Linda Sue Newton
Linda Sue Newton, age 36, died Tuesday, May 5, 1998, as the result of an automobile accident.
Mrs. Newton was a lifelong resident of Okaloosa County, Fla.
Survivors include her mother, Jimmie Treaster of the Auburn community, Fla.; stepfather, Malcolm Martinez Sr. of Crestview, Fla.; husband, Gary Lee Newton of Crestview; son, Christopher Lee Cox of Laurel Hill, Fla.; and daughter, Carlotta Michelle Parker of Crestview. She also leaves two brothers, Jerry Wayne Collinsworth of Crestview, and Malcolm Martinez of the Auburn community. She leaves three sisters, Betty Lou Garrett of Crestview, Connie Sue Carr of Holt, Fla., and Bessie Collinsworth of Crestview. She had one grandchild, Destiney Paige Harnish.
A time of visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at McLaughlin-Aultman Funeral Home Chapel.

Audrey Zeigler Klecz
Audrey Klecz, age 89, of Destin, Fla., and formerly of Statesboro and Savannah, Ga., passed away Wednesday, May 6, 1998.
Mrs. Klecz was born on Nov. 7, 1908, in Screven county, Ga. She lived all of her life in the southeast.
Mrs. Klecz was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Benjamin Klecz. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Harry and Virginia Morgan of Lynnwood, Wash.; daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Arlon Smith of Destin; daughter and son-in-law, Norma Jean and Tod Baglien of Burnsville, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at McLaughlin Mortuary.

Susie Annie Moss
Susie Annie Moss, age 92, of Ponce de Leon, Fla., died Wednesday, May 6, 1998, in a local hospital.
She was a lifelong resident of Holmes County, Fla. Mrs. Moss was a member of First Baptist Church of Ponce de Leon for the past 77 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lymon Moss in 1997. She is survived by one son, Hilton D. "Bean" Moss and wife Sylvia of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; daughters, Wilma M. Brown of DeFuniak Springs, and Babe Moore and husband Howard of DeFuniak Springs; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one special nephew, Floyd Skinner of Ponce de Leon.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at First Baptist Church of Ponce de Leon with the Rev. Ed Anthony and Ralph Sutton officiating. Interment will follow in the New Ponce de Leon Cemetery.
Friends may call at Comander Funeral Home Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.

James A. Carr
James A. Carr, 53, of Crestview, passed away Thursday night, May 7, 1998. Mr. Carr was a native and lifelong resident of Crestview.
He is survived by his son, Jarrod Carr; two brothers, J.M. Carr and Danny Carr; four sisters, Shirley Brooks, Jimmie Lou Treaster, Virgie Lee Gourm, and Estelle Hayre, all of Crestview; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 12, 1998, at the Antioch Cemetery with the Rev. Donnie Cadenhead officiating.

Daniel Matthew Lavoie
Daniel Matthew Lavoie, age 65, of Freeport, Fla., died Sunday, May 10, 1998, at his home.
Mr. Lavoie was a native of Ayer, Ma., and moved to this area in 1964 from Alaska. He was a retired technical sergeant in the U.S. Air Force with over 23 years of service, and a member of the DAV.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances J. Lavoie; parents, Albert J. and Lucy Lavoie; and a sister, Mary M. Lavoie.
Survivors include a stepson, James T. Griffin of Fairfax, Va.; brother, Albert J. Lavoie of Ayer; sisters, Theresa Messer, Lucy Lavoie, Claire Lavoie and Beatrice Lavoie, all of Ayer; and grandchildren, Virginia Lee and Lauren Frances Griffin, both of Rockville, Utah.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, with a vigil service at 7 p.m. at McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home.
A funeral Mass will be conducted at Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Church on Thursday, May 14, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. J. Craig Williams as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Valparaiso, Fla.

Alma Frances Ludlam
Alma F. Ludlam, age 80, of Laurel Hill, Fla., died early Monday morning, May 11, 1998, at Twin Cities Hospital in Niceville, Fla.
Mr. Ludlam was born in Enterprise, Ala., on Dec. 28, 1917, to Robert F. and Lizzie Ross Carroll and had been a resident of the Northwest Florida area since 1934. She and her husband, Porter Ludlam, who preceded her in death in March 1991, owned and operated the Ludlam's Grocery Store in Laurel Hill for 58 years.
Mrs. Ludlam was a member of First Baptist Church of Laurel Hill and active with senior citizens. She was a devoted Christian, homemaker, sister and aunt. She was a loving person who was active in community involvement and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, James F. and Ann Carroll of Chicago; sister, Ima Jean (Carroll) Williams of Niceville, Fla.; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Olin and Jewell Ludlam, and Audrey Ludlam, all of Laurel Hill; sisters-in-law, Lola Mae Peters and Nell Carroll, both of Laurel Hill; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
A time of visitation will be conducted from Whitehurst Funeral Home today from 5 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted from the chapel of Whitehurst Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, with the Revs. Jerry Everage and Terry Floyd officiating. Interment will follow in Almarante Cemetery in Laurel Hill.
