Maggie N. Ditto
Maggie N. Ditto, age 73, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., died Wednesday, July 15, 1998, at her home.
She was born in Shallotte, N.C., and was a homemaker. Mrs. Ditto had resided in this area since 1969.
She was preceded in death last year by her husband, retired Air Force master sergeant, Charles W. Ditto.
She is survived by her sons, Stephen R. Cianci of Fairfield, Calif., Thomas M. Cianci of Nashville, Tenn., and Charles M. Ditto of Fort Walton Beach; daughters, Maria Moore and Linda Brown, both of Fort Walton Beach; stepson, James W. Ditto of Denver, Colo.; brothers, Leamon Williamson of Newport News, Va., and Hubert Williamson of Yorktown, Va.; sisters, Virginia Stalvey of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Margaret Parker of Jacksonville, Fla., and Francis Radvansky of Lugoff, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday.
Funeral services will be conducted at McLaughlin Mortuary Chapel at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18, with Bishop Wayne Stalvey officiating. Interment will follow in Beal Memorial Cemetery.

Alma Ruth Culp
Alma Ruth Culp, pioneer resident of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., passed away in Fort Walton Beach Medical Center on Thursday, July 16, 1998. July 30 would have been her 94th birthday. Alma came here in 1949 and worked as the first nurse for Dr. White in the original medical facility in Fort Walton Beach. She later worked for many years for Fred C. Cooke, selling real estate prior to her retirement.
Alma was born in Beaumont, Texas and raised in Pratt City, Ala. She married Eugene Culp and moved to Indiana where she raised her family before moving to Fort Walton Beach. Alma spent the last four years of her life in the Destin Health and Rehabilitation Center, lovingly attended to by her family.
Alma was preceded in death by her son, Richard E. Culp. She is survived by her daughters, Madelaine Havey of Riverside, Calif. and Evelyn Phillips of Las Vegas, Nev.; her grandson, Bradley J. Palmer and wife, Kimberly Palmer, of Fort Walton Beach; and her brother and sister, Sidney Carson of Redwood City, Calif. and Edna Larsen of Andalanto, Calif.; as well as 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Celebration of her incredible life will include a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. at McLaughlin Mortuary, Fort Walton Beach on Tuesday, July 21, 1998, followed by a memorial service in McLaughlin Chapel at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 1998. Burial will be at the Beal Memorial Cemetery immediately following the memorial service.

Glenn E. Duncan
Col. Glenn E. Duncan, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army Air Corps retired, age 80, of Niceville, Fla., died Tuesday, July 14, 1998, in Twin Cities Hospital in Niceville.
He was born in Bering, Texas, on May 19, 1918, Col. Duncan served his country proudly as a career officer for over 30 years, first in the Army Air Corps during World War II and the Korean and other international conflicts.
Col. Duncan is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Marian M. Duncan, of Niceville; children, Sue Duncan, Margo Duncan and son-in-law, Bruce Anderson, and son, Glenn E. Duncan Jr. and daughter-in-law, Tricia Duncan; grandchildren, Elissa and Amanda Duncan; and his sister, Dessie D. Robbins.

Bobby Gene Downs
Bobby Gene Downs, age 60, of Freeport, Fla., formerly of Pensacola, Fla., died Saturday, July 18, 1998, in a Panama City, Fla., hospital.
Mr. Downs was born in Meridian, Miss., and was Baptist by faith. He retired from the U.S. Navy following 20 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Downs of Freeport; daughter and son-in-law, Nita and Eddie Springle of Crestview, Fla.; son, John Eric Downs of Atlanta; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Robbie Roberson of Mobile, Ala.; very special granddaughter, Elizabeth Springle; niece, Kim Lomax; nephew, Matt Roberson; great-niece, Lauren Lomax; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon Wednesday, July 22, at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Barrancas National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dave Worley
Dave Worley, age 61, loving husband, father, grandfather and a great friend to many, passed away Monday, July 20, 1998, at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Martha; daughter, Belinda Gray; sons, David, Jeff, Dewayne and Tony Worley; son-in-law, Bobby Gray; grandchildren, Brandi and Jennifer Buck, Bobby Gray, Holly Worley, Jason and Jeffrey Worley, and David Singleton.
Dave worked at Stone's BP Gas Station for years and had been in the service station business all his life. He had many loyal friends and customers. Dave lived in fort Walton Beach, Fla., for 41 years and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Little Chapel Funeral Home.
Services and burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, in Beal Memorial Cemetery.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Hospice nurses, Ann and Michelle, for their help, compassion and support while Dave was ill.

Scott Allen Cosson
Scott Allen Cosson, age 34, of Freeport, Fla., died July 18, 1998, in an area hospital.
Mr. Cosson was originally from Tampa, Fla., and moved to Freeport two years ago. Scott worked as a public safety officer at Silver Sands Public Safety in Sandestin, Fla., and was previously employed as an auxiliary police officer with the DeFuniak Springs Police Department. He was Methodist by faith.
Mr. Cosson is survived by his parents, Frank and Frances Cosson of DeFuniak Springs; four children, Clifton Scott, Allen Wayne, Brad Christian and Felicia Mae Cosson all of Tyler Town, Miss.; five brothers: James Franklin Cosson and fiance Virginia A. Morgan of Tampa, Fla., D. Shawn Cosson and wife Valerie of DeFuniak Springs, Andrew Cosson of Tampa, Dwight Franklin Cosson of DeFuniak Springs, and Henry Cosson and wife Thim of New Orleans; three sisters, Elizabeth Cosson of Paxton, Fla., Angela Glonek and husband Jerry of Inverness, Fla., and JoAnna Lynn McLendon and husband Ronald of DeFuniak Springs.
Friends and relatives may call at Clary-Godwin Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 22, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with the Revs. David Wilson and Green Harold officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
Flowers are being accepted.

Betty Hinote
Betty Hinote, age 61, died Saturday, July 18, 1998, in a hospital in Lakeland, Fla.
She was born on Dec. 24, 1936, in Fort Pierce, Fla. Betty was a lifelong resident of Fort Pierce and Baptist by faith. Betty was a truck driver by profession.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed dearly.
Mrs. Hinote was preceded in death by her husband, Billy C. Hinote Sr. She is survived by two sons, Rusty and wife Grace Fife of Lakeland, Fla., and Jeffrey and wife Helen Fife, also of Lakeland; two sisters, Nancy Hillard of St. Lucie, Fla., and Edith Sullivan of Fort Pierce; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Billy C. Hinote Jr. and Hugh Hinote.
Funeral services will be held at Comander Funeral Home on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Glenn Spence officiating. Burial will follow at Crowder Chapel Cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted as well as donations to the American Cancer Society.
Comander Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Robert C. Black
Lt. Col. Robert C. Black, U.S. Air Force retired, died Sunday, July 19, 1998, at home with his loving family and Hospice, due to Mylofibrosis, a bone marrow disease diagnosed three years ago.
Bob was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Feb. 29, 1929, and moved to Amityville, Long Island, N.Y., at the age of 11/2. He joined the Army Air Corps in 1942 and became a navigator. He was a veteran of three wars. In World War II, he was in the Pacific Islands; he also served in Korea and Vietnam. Bob graduated from Syracuse University. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1969 and went to work for HRS. He retired in 1986.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann, of 48 years; children, Chris Black of Mobile, Ala., Nancy Service and husband Vance of Daytona, Fla., Pamela and husband, Ritchee Daniels of Bruce, Fla.; grandchildren, Holley Black of Mobile, Ryan Black of Tampa, Fla., and Sean Service of Daytona; and a special great-granddaughter, Samantha Chamblee of Mobile.
Bob was an avid golfer and a member of the Fort Walton Beach Course for 30 years, a past member of the Elks Lodge, and active at the coffee shop.
A memorial inurnment service will be held at Beal Memorial Cemetery at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 22.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Donna Elizabeth Willingham
Donna Elizabeth Willingham, age 89, of Niceville, Fla., passed away Sunday morning, July 19, 1998, in Bay Heritage Nursing Home.
She was born in Andalusia, Ala., the daughter of Isaac O.C. and Verna Lee Dennis Burden, on Nov. 7, 1908, and moved to Niceville in 1922. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Niceville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Littleton Willingham.
Survivors include her sister, Lorena B, Reynolds of Valparaiso, Fla., and her nieces and nephews, Jerry Reynolds and wife Bette of Andalusia, Rebecca Caskie of Houston, Betty McGriff Spence of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., Hope Skivaski of Mary Esther, Fla., Helen Tison of Northridge, Calif., and Myrtice Long of Salida, Colo.
The family will receive friends at McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home in Niceville on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church in Niceville on Wednesday, July 22, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. J. Edward Chandler officiating. Interment will follow in Rocky Cemetery of Niceville.
Ms. Willingham will be moved to the church one hour prior to services.
Floral contributions are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 278, Niceville, Fl. 32588 or to the charity of your choice.

Dennis William Darnell Jr.
Dennis William Darnell Jr., age 39, of Freeport, Fla., died Friday evening, July 17, 1998, as the result of an automobile accident.
He was an elevator constructor with the Miami Elevator Co., and held membership in the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local No. 124. Dennis was born in Cleveland and moved to this area 18 months ago from the Tampa, Fla., area. He was a member of the Black Creek United Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and other outdoor activities.
He is survived by his wife, Kimberly A. Darnell; his son, Devon William Darnell; his daughter, Brittny Marie Darnell, all of Freeport; his parents, Dennis and Carol Darnell of Niceville, Fla.; his brother, Daniel W. Darnell of Brandon, Fla.; his sister, Teri E. Darnell of Atlanta; his paternal grandmother, Rose Love of Lansing, Mich.; his maternal grandmother, Lena Traylor of Greenup, Ky.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas C. and Vivian Wilson of Brandon; four uncles; six aunts; and one niece.
The family will receive friends at McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home, Niceville, on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the Black Creek United Methodist Church in Freeport on Wednesday, July 22, at 2 p.m.
Interment will take place at a later date at the Black Creek Cemetery.
