Jackie Collinsworth
Jackie Collinsworth, age 51, of Holt, Fla., passed away Sunday afternoon, Aug. 16, 1998, at her home.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Okaloosa County, Fla., and attended Antioch Baptist Church.
Mrs. Collinsworth was preceded in death by her husband, David Collinsworth. Survivors include her children, Jerry Wayne Collinsworth, Bessie Lou and Sanford McKinney, all of Crestview, and Connie Sue Carr of Holt; mother, Mary Louise Casey of Crestview; sisters, Evelyn Atkins of Crestview, and Elaine Grice of Holt; brother, James W. Brooks of Crestview; and grandchildren, Mandy Lee Latham, Heather Lee Collinsworth, Stephanie Ann Collinsworth, Ashley Collinsworth, Jeffrey Scott Collinsworth and Joshua Holcomb.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, at the chapel of Brackney Funeral Service with the Rev. Alton Nixon officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Brackney Funeral Service, Crestview, is in charge of the arrangements.

Earl L. Lassitter
Earl L. Lassitter, age 70, of Ponce de Leon, Fla., died at his residence on Sunday, Aug. 16, 1998.
Born in Red Bay on May 29, 1928, he was the son of the late John and Lula Rushing Lassitter.
He is survived by his wife, Marion (Nan) Lassitter and children, Mary F. Lander of Denver, Caroline Brown of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., Connie and son-in-law Vance Paris of Martinsville, Ind., Richard Lander of Denver, George Burke of Ellicott City, Md., and Robert Lander of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; sisters, Eva Renfroe of DeFuniak Springs, and Lela McDermott of Niceville, Fla.; grandchildren, Kim Sprenkle, Jennifer Burke, Lance Sprenkle, Jarrod Burke, Jena Lassitter, Chris Lander, Matthew Brown, Mike Lander and Kaycee Brown; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, in Red Bay Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike McVay officiating. Interment will follow in Red Bay Cemetery.
Friends may call on the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Craig Arnold, Lavon Arnold, Gary Lassitter, Matt Brown, Mike Lander and Mark Flanagan. Honorary pallbearers are the gentlemen of Red Bay and the gang from the tables of wisdom at Mamie's.

Virgil B. Trent
Virgil B. "V.B." Trent, age 73, of Crestview, Fla., passed away Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998, in a local hospital.
He was born on Nov. 29, 1924, in Simon, W.Va., and had been a resident of the local area since 1951, when he and his family moved here from West Virginia. He was Methodist by faith and a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church in Crestview.
Family and friends would all say that he was a friend to everyone. He was also an avid gardener. During his working years he managed several gas stations in the Crestview area.
Survivors include his loving wife, Ernestine, of 52 years; sons, Cody and daughter-in-law Meda Trent of Crestview, Tim and daughter-in-law Cathy of Enterprise, Ala.; daughter, Olivia and son-in-law Harry Brill of Winchester, Va.; brother, Fleming Trent of Clearfork, W.Va.; and grandchildren, Chris Trent, Nikki Trent, Dawn Murphy, Karen Trent and Mark Brill.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at McLaughlin-Aultman Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, at McLaughlin-Aultman Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Kevin Krist and Ed Deabler officiating. Burial will follow in Old Bethel Cemetery in Crestview.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial donation be made to St. Mark United Methodist Church, 2250 P.J. Adams Pkwy., Crestview, FL 32536, in memory of Virgil B. Trent.
McLaughlin-Aultman Funeral Home, Crestview, is entrusted with arrangements.

Betty C. Strickland
Betty C. Strickland, age 68, of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., passed away Aug. 15, 1998.
She was born to James and Murtis Tunnel on Feb. 2, 1930, in Gordo, Ala. Mrs. Strickland was the loving wife of Ralph Strickland for the past 51 years.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph Strickland; children, Wanda, Bob, Bruce, Keith and Stacey; and grandchildren, Gretchen, Brian, Christopher, Ricky, Dana, Lacey, Kylie, Bailey, Elizabeth and Jessee.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home, Niceville, Fla., is entrusted with arrangements.

Lester Motley
Lester Motley, age 76, 107 Quince Ave., Niceville, Fla., died Monday, Aug. 17, 1998, at Crestview Nursing Facility.
Mr. Motley was a World War II and Korean veteran.
Services will be conducted at graveside at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, in Wing Cemetery, Ala., with the Rev. Frank Dole officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Motley; daughter, Linda Torres, son, Terrence Motley, all of Niceville; grandchild, Michael Torres of Roswell, Ga.; brothers, Ralph Motley of Wing, and W.D. Motley of Niceville; and sisters, Erma Hardy of Ponce de Leon, Fla., and Lucy Williams of Georgetown, Ga.
Pallbearers will be Michael Torres, Terrence Motley, Teddie Motley, Robert Douglas, Corey Miller and James Tison.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Hospice of Northwest Florida, 1005 W. College Blvd., Suite B, Niceville, FL 32578.

George Andrew Coleman
George Andrew Coleman, age 27, a former Yonkers, N.Y., resident, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998, at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan.
He was born on Aug. 17, 1970, in the Bronx, N.Y., to George F. and Carol Marie Introcaso Coleman. He lived in Yonkers and graduated from the Annunciation Roman Catholic School in Crestwood in 1984, Fordham Preparatory School in 1988, and Fairfield University in 1992.
In 1994, Mr. Coleman moved to Fort Walton Beach, Fla. On July 1, 1996, he married Tammy Noll in Shalimar, Fla. the couple lived in Fort Walton Beach.
Mr. Coleman had worked as a construction contractor for Sandestin Resorts in Sandestin, Fla., since 1996. He enjoyed playing darts and role playing games with friends; was an avid sports fan, especially of the Yankees; and loved his beagle "Snoopy," his family said.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James, in 1967.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Coleman is survived by a sister, Virginia Coleman of Yonkers; maternal grandmother, Mildred Introcaso of Yonkers; paternal grandmother, Margaret Coleman of Eatontown, N.J.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Barbara and Barry Noll; and sister-in-law, Susan Noll.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, at McLaughlin Mortuary.
Graveside services will be conducted in Beal Memorial Cemetery on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.

Violet Hope Seaver
Violet Hope Seaver, age 74, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., passed away early Monday morning, Aug. 17, 1998, in a local nursing home after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Seaver was born on Oct. 3, 1923, in North Providence, R.I., to the late Mario and Santina Carcieri. Mrs. Seaver was a longtime resident of Fort Walton Beach, moving here in 1962 from Long Island, N.Y. She was employed by Okaloosa County Learning Center for 10 years as a secretary.
Mrs. Seaver was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a charter member of the Sons of Italy. She was a former Arthur Murray dance instructor and competed in and placed in dance competition in 1996. She was a member of the board of directors of San Destin and competed in the Miss Senior Okaloosa County Beauty Pageant in 1996.
Mrs. Seaver was preceded in death by both her husbands, Mr. Martin J. Signorelli and Mr. Donald L. Seaver. She is survived by her daughters, Donna M. Signorelli of El Sobrante, Calif., Andrea Signorelli of Cape Coral, Fla., and Lisa Signorelli Martin and husband David of Daphne, Ala.; son, Curtis L. Seaver and wife Sandra of Fort Walton Beach; brother, Anthony J. Carcieri and wife Joan of Warwick, R.I.; and grandchildren, Kirsten Seaver, Trevor LeCain, Cori LeCain and Grace Signorelli-Cassady.
Funeral services for Mrs. Seaver will be Thursday, Aug. 20, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Pete Zalewski officiating. Interment will follow in Barrancas National Cemetery at 1:15 p.m.
The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Sammie Otto Chambless
Sammie Otto Chambless, age 77, of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., died at his residence Thursday, Aug. 13, 1998.
Born on Oct. 14, 1920, in Samson, Ala., he was the son of the late Benny and Roxie Wyett Chambless. Mr. Chambless was a retired heavy equipment operator with the county and was Presbyterian by faith.
Mr. Chambless is survived by his wife, Dorrita Chambless of DeFuniak Springs; sons, Sammie Chambless Jr. of Navarre, Fla., and Earl Edward Chambless of Crestview, Fla.; stepsons, Perry Mark Lanclos of Andalusia, Ala., and Alvin Paul Lanclos of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; daughter, Roxie Ann Clark of DeFuniak Springs; stepdaughters, Lucy Ann Lonidier of Lake Charles, La., and Artharine Poche of Mariquin, La.; brothers, Earl Edward (Lee) Chambless of Fort Walton Beach, and Capt. Rex Chambless of Destin, Fla.; sisters, Winnie Bronson of Freeport, Fla., and Mary Bronson of Destin; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 10 a.m. at Clary-Godwin Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Frank Dole officiating. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla.
Flowers and plants will be accepted.

Samuel Shuble Bentley
Samuel Shuble Bentley, "Papa," born May 6, 1935, in Chula, Ga., died Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998, at approximately 1:15 p.m. on the North Forty at Holly King Lake.
He was a 25-year resident of Niceville, Fla.
Survivors include his wife of 401/2 years, Vera M. "Granny" Bentley; daughters, Patricia B. Gates, Sara J. Bentley and Sherry M. Hall, all of Niceville; and a son, John Clements of Irving, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer L. Gates and Joshua K. Hall of Niceville; one brother; four sisters; numerous nieces and nephews; John and Jo Cain of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Bill Cox of Holly King Lake; and numerous other friends. Mr. Bentley was preceded in death by his parents and 10 brothers and sisters.
The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Services for Mr. Bentley will be Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 10 a.m. at Emerald Coast Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gerald Reese officiating.

Lloyd M. Kilpatrick
Lloyd M. Kilpatrick, age 73, of Crestview, Fla., passed away at his home Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Auburn Assembly of God Church in Crestview with the Rev. Rex Kornegay officiating. Burial will follow in Old Bethel Cemetery.
