Sarah Leona Huff, 90, of Jefferson Village, Charles Town, W.Va., died Tuesday, July 11, 2000, in Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.
Mrs. Huff was born Feb. 19, 1910, in Clarke County, the daughter of Benjamin Hebber Ashby and Ella May Huff Ashby.
She was owner and operator for many years of the Mecca Restaurant in Berryville.
She was a member of the Baptist faith.
She was married to Frank Howard Huff.
Surviving are a son, Thomas E. “Buddy” Owens of Jefferson Village; seven stepchildren, Kathleen Lovelace of Charles Town, Louise Fuller of Williamsburg, Helen Cooksey of Hillsboro, Donna Lou McDonald and Charles R. Huff, both of Berryville, Frank H. Huff Jr. of Melbourne, Fla., and David A. Huff of Winchester; a sister, Edith Shumaker of Hagerstown, Md.; a brother, James H. Ashby of Berryville; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A son, Ashby W. Owens, is deceased.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Shenandoah Memorial Park, with the Rev. Jack Weise officiating.

Frances E. Hulver
Frances Ellen Hulver, 77, of Regency Lake Drive, Winchester, died Sunday, July 9, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Hulver was born Oct. 5, 1922, in Clarke County, the daughter of Samuel and Leia Richards Baker.
She married Stuart Lee Hulver on July 4, 1943, in Frederick County. Mr. Hulver died Feb. 16, 1982.
Surviving are a son, Stuart Allen Hulver, at home; three daughters, Agnes Pierce and Ellen M. Hart, both of Winchester, and Betty L. Albright of Millwood; four sisters, Mary Ball of Middletown, Beatrice Lane of Winchester, and Martha Baker and Ruth Baker, both of Berryville; two brothers, Samuel Baker and John Baker, both of Stephens City; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mountain View United Methodist Church, Mt. Falls, with the Rev. Anthony A. Wadsworth officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tom “Tuck” Hart, George Pierce Jr., Charles Demmore, Ronald Mowbray, Ronald Pierce, and Ronald Mowbray Jr.

Kayla Paige Smith, infant daughter of Shannon Marie Posey Smith and Jeremy Carroll Smith of York, Pa., died Sunday, July 9, 2000, in York Hospital.
Surviving with her parents are her maternal grandparents, Deborah Anderson Posey and James R. Posey Sr. of Front Royal; her paternal grandfather, Harry Carroll Smith of York; and her great-grandparents, Carolyn C. Posey of Alexandria and John W. Anderson Jr. of Crystal River, Fla.

Allen Lee Hottle Jr., 29, of Filbert Street, Stephens City, died Thursday, July 6, 2000, in Clarke County.
Mr. Hottle was born May 5, 1971, in Winchester, the son of Allen Lee Hottle Sr. and Nancy Allen Poe Hottle. He attended the Evangelical Christian Church.
Surviving in addition to his parents, of Stephens City, are a son, Michael Shawn Hottle of Winchester; a daughter, Tiffany Michelle Hottle of Winchester; and a brother, Dwayne Scott Hottle of Stephens City.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2000, at Jones Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ken Smith officiating.

Anna L. Flynn
Anna Lou Shepherd Fletcher Flynn, 82, of 529 Eckard Circle, Winchester, died Monday, July 10, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Flynn was born Sept. 21, 1917, in Bluemont, the daughter of John and Miriam Anderson Shepherd. She was kitchen supervisor for the Clarke County Ruritans for 35 years and retired in 1991. She attended Boyce United Methodist Church and was a graduate of Boyce Agricultural High School.
She was a lifetime member of the Eagles Auxiliary.
She was married to Ronald Flynn, who died in 1973. Her first husband was Walter Richard Fletcher Sr.
Surviving are three daughters, Gordanna F. Thompson of Frederick County, Linda Lou F. Carter of Winchester, and Dianna “Susan” F. Fahnestock of Fort Ashby, W.Va.; two sons, Walter R. “Dickie” Fletcher Jr. of Clearbrook and Robert C. “Bobby” Fletcher of Stephens City; two sisters, Inez Shepherd Perry of Winchester and Hallee Shepherd Konny of Columbia, Md.; three brothers, John A. Shepherd of Winchester, Russell R. Shepherd of Honolulu, and Lynn R. Shepherd of Front Royal; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A son, Conway Lennox Fletcher, is deceased.

John R. Billmyre
John Richard Billmyre, 62, of 220 Ridge Road, Winchester, died Friday, July 7, 2000, at home.
Mr. Billmyre was born on Sept. 25, 1937, in Moorefield, W.Va., the son of Eugene T. and Ethel L. Davis Billmyre. He was a machinist with Holliday and Tyler Printing, retiring in 1993 after 26 years. He also worked part time as a security guard with Security Central.
He was a member of the Montague Avenue United Methodist Church. During his years in the Air Force, he received the Good Conduct Medal and the Longevity Service Award.
Mr. Billmyre married Shirley M. Howell on Dec. 9, 1967, at the Montague Avenue Methodist Church.
Surviving with his wife are a son, Stephen E. Payne of Winchester; two daughters, Peggy A. Wiley of Winchester and Connie J. Stiles of Berryville; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Omps Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Fuller officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville.

Hilda C. Ward, 75, of Newark, N.J., died Wednesday, July 5, 2000.
Mrs. Ward was born July 10, 1924, in Clearbrook, the daughter of Harry and Eliza Brown. She was a retired domestic worker.
She was married to Douglas Ward, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are her companion, Jessie Gardner of Newark; a stepdaughter, Beverly Ward of Newark; and a brother, Thaddeus Brown of White Post.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Whigham Funeral Home, 580 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Newark. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery, Linden, N.J.

Warren H. Brown Sr.
Warren H. Brown Sr., 79, of Front Royal, died Friday, July 7, 2000 in Warren Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Brown was born March 10, 1921, in Greenbay, the son of Henry C. Brown Sr. and Frances Jane Freeman Brown.
He was a member of Marlow Heights Baptist Church and a deacon for many years. He owned Warren Brown Construction Co. and was a contractor in Warren County until he retired in the late 1980s.
He was married to Pauline Tice Brown for 58 years.
Surviving with his wife are a son, Warren H. Brown Jr. of Front Royal; a daughter, Jane B. Wine of Front Royal; two brothers, John C. Brown Sr. of Strasburg and Kay Brown of Paris, Texas; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Marlow Heights Baptist Church in Front Royal, with the Revs. Harvey Skinner and Larry Lawhon officiating.

John J. Geraghty Jr.
John J. Geraghty Jr., 69, of Warm Springs Court, Hagerstown, Md., died Friday, July 7, 2000, in Hagerstown.
Mr. Geraghty was born July 13, 1930, in New York City, the son of John J. Geraghty Sr. and Linda “Golden” Geraghty. He owned and operated Night Owl Cleaning Services, Winchester.
He was a member of the American Legion and the Chamber of Commerce. He served as a sergeant in the Marine Corps from 1951 to 1955.
Surviving are two sons, Joe J. Brockman of Newport Beach, Calif., and Christopher M. Geraghty of Winchester; a daughter, Heather R. Geraghty of Hagerstown; a brother, Robert M. Geraghty of Front Royal; and eight grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Jones Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Anthony A. Wadsworth officiating. Burial will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park with military honors by the VFW.

Ann L. Masters
Ann Louise Masters, 63, of 7816 Senseny Ave., Middletown, died Friday, July 7, 2000, at Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Masters was born Dec. 27, 1936, in Frederick County, the daughter of Aaron M. and Ethel A. Corner Shifflett. She retired as a store manager for 16 Plus, Winchester.
She was a member of the Middletown Assembly of God and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Middletown Fire and Rescue. She was a past member of the Winchester Retail Merchants Association and a graduate of James Wood High School.
She married Alvin Dale Masters on Sept. 11, 1971, in Middletown. Her first husband, Harold Daniel Agnor, died Dec. 9, 1968.
Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Julie Ann Agnor Bush of Cross Junction and Michele Renee Agnor of Middletown; a sister, Bonnie Jo Collette of Stephens City; and two brothers, John Michael Shifflett of Canberra, Australia, and Donald Lee Shifflett of Mountain Falls.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Omps Funeral Home, with the Rev. Hartley Wigfield officiating. Burial will be private.

Ruth R. Rudolph
Ruth Ryan Rudolph, 79, of Yellow Spring, W.Va., died on Friday, July 7, 2000, at home.
Mrs. Rudolph was born on June 22, 1921, in Orkney Springs, the daughter of Homer and Bessie Yankee Ryan. She was a homemaker, an avid reader, and a member of the Hebron Lutheran Church, Yellow Spring.
She married Jack T. Rudolph Sr. on June 20, 1942, at Grace Lutheran Church, Winchester.
Surviving with her husband are two sons, Jack T. Rudolph Jr. and Michael K. Rudolph, both of Yellow Spring; two daughters, Sharon R. Peel and Jacquelyn R. Ganskopp, both of Alexandria; a foster son, Vernon Shanholtz of Christiansburg; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Rodeffer was born April 21, 1921, in Cartersville, the daughter of Earl and Olivia Parker Shores.
She was a member of Mill Creek Church of the Brethren and a 1938 graduate of Hamilton High School.
She married the Rev. William Rodeffer on Dec. 24, 1937.
Surviving with her husband, are four sons, Charles W. Rodeffer and William H. Rodeffer Jr., both of Harrisonburg, Gary N. Rodeffer of Woodbridge, and John T. Rodeffer of Bellingham, Wash.; two daughters, Janice R. Tusing of Middletown and Linda R. Thomas Glenn Delawder, 70, of Paw Paw, W.Va., died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Delawder was born May 18, 1930, in Glassport, Pa., the son of Harry Alston and Marjorie Mortimer Delawder.
He retired May 31, 1991, after 43 years as a carpenter with CSX Railroad Maintenance of Way.
He was a member of Moose Lodge 271, of Cumberland, Md., and the Paw Paw Church of Christ.
He was married to Tiny Lou Bailey for 52 years.
Surviving with his wife, are a son, Thomas Wayne Delawder of Ridgley, W.Va.; two daughters, Tama Leigh Hiles of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and Teresa Ilene Delawder of Paw Paw; two sisters, Betty Jane Shrout of Oldtown, Md., and Mary Moreland of Glen Burnie, Md.; three brothers, Richard M. Delawder of Oldtown, Eugene Delawder of Springfield, W.Va., and Arthur Robertson of Holt, Mo.; five grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Michael W. Graves
Michael Welton Graves, 49, of Augusta, W.Va., died Thursday, July 6, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Graves was born Aug. 14, 1950, in Annapolis, Md., the son of Hugh P. and Virginia L. Bowen Graves. He was a correctional officer at Camp 7 Correctional Center. He retired from the Navy after 30 years with the rank of senior chief petty officer.
He was a 1969 graduate of Clarke County High School.
He was a member of VFW Post 1101 in Romney, W.Va.
He was married to Patricia Ann Grove.
Surviving with his wife, and his mother, of Berryville, are two sons, Michael S. Graves and Richard Graves, both of Winchester; a daughter, Micki Heflin of Winchester; a stepson, Timothy Hardee of Inwood, W.Va.; a stepdaughter, Deborah Johnson of Inwood, W.Va.; a sister, Reba LaFollette of Winchester; two brothers, Thomas Graves of Winchester and Ronald Graves of Stephenson; and 11 grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday in McKee Funeral Home, Augusta, W.Va., with Pastor Robert Jeffreys officiating. Military honors will be provided by Hampshire County veterans. Burial will be private.

Jerome W. Green
Jerome Wayne Green, 17, of Harrisonburg, formerly of Stephens City, was found dead July 7 from a drowning accident on July 4.
He was born Nov. 11, 1982, in Winchester, the son of Laurie Green and Benjamin Cook. He attended Harrisonburg High School, and was a member of the Harrisonburg Boys and Girls Club.
Surviving in addition to his mother, of Winter Haven, Fla., and his father, of Winchester, are his guardian Georgia Cain, of Harrisonburg; his maternal grandparents, Gladys Smith and Harold Cain, of Winchester; a sister, Shanta Green of Harrisonburg; and three brothers, Matt Cook and Henry Payton of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Benjamin Smith of Winchester.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home with the Rev. David H. Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Newtown Cemetery.

Mary L. Miller
Mary L. Miller, 92, of Wardensville Grade, Winchester, died Thursday, July 6, 2000, in a local nursing home.
Mrs. Miller was born Feb. 14, 1908, in Frederick County, the daughter of Thurston B. and Alice Lamp Renner. She had been a seasonal worker for Shenandoah Apple Co-op and retired in 1974.
She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.
She married Ervin C. Miller on Aug. 3, 1935. Mr. Miller died June 27, 1961.
Surviving are a son, Marvin M. Miller of Winchester; a daughter, Cletus M. McCarty of Palm Harbor, Fla.; three granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Lamps family Cemetery, Frederick County, with the Rev. Anthony A. Wadsworth officiating.
