Gary Lee Speelman, 46, of 2320 Siler Road, Winchester, died Thursday, March 9, 2000, at his home.
Mr. Speelman was born Nov. 17, 1953, in Winchester, the son of Fonzie and Ruby Clark Speelman. He worked for Patton’s Furniture in Winchester. He was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church, Winchester.
He married Linda Kelly Speelman on Feb. 19, 1971, in Hagerstown, Md.
Surviving with his wife, are a son, Kenneth W. Speelman of Winchester; a brother, Allen “Jigs” Speelman of Whitacre; five sisters Janie Haines of Cross Junction, Louise Landis of Whitacre, Deloris Stotler and Bernadean Michael, both Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and Judy Pugh of Bloomery, W.Va.; and two grandsons.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church, Frederick County, with Pastor Gordon R. Shinkle officiating. Burial will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Danny Crouse, Mike Haines, Billy Haines, Joey Myers, Bobby Pugh, and Leonard Kelly.

Roy L. Keeler
Roy Lee Keeler, 52, of 580 S. Braddock St., Winchester, died Thursday, March 9, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Keeler was born April 27, 1947, in Winchester, the son of Grover Jackson and Wilmouth Jean Putman Keeler.
He was a salesman for John S. Solenberger Co. and an Army veteran.
Surviving are two brothers, Ralph E. Keeler of Winchester and Randy A. Keeler of Bloomery, W.Va.; and two sisters, Doris K. Wetzel and Lois Ann Keeler, both of Winchester.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Stover Funeral Home, Strasburg, with the Rev. Robert Blinn officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Middletown, with military honors accorded by Shenandoah American Legion Post 77 of Strasburg.

Flora M. Smoot
Flora May Smoot, 65, of 2212 Swartz Road, Woodstock, died Thursday, March 9, 2000, in Skyline Terrace Nursing Home, Woodstock.
Mrs. Smoot was born May 22, 1934, in Little Washington, the daughter of Sam Bo and Frances Smoot.
She was married to James Paul Smoot.
Surviving with her husband, are two sons, John Mosby Smoot and Jonas Paul Smoot, both at home; two daughters, Polly Smoot of Woodstock and Lisa Smoot at home; two brothers, Frankie Smoot of Stephens City and Junior Smoot of Winchester; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Dellinger Funeral Home, Woodstock, with the Rev. J.D. Greene officiating. Burial will be in St. Luke Cemetery.

Jane J. Miller
Jane Justice Miller, 56, of Marshy Dell, Gerrardstown, W.Va., died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, in City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Mrs. Miller was born Feb. 6, 1944, in Logansport, Ind., the daughter of William Franklin and Paulita Sheets Justice.
She operated an interior design business, Jane Miller Interiors, in the Eastern Panhandle area. Her work has been featured in regional and national publications, including Colonial Homes Magazine. She had been an assistant to Mariam Crocker, a lamp and shade designer in Georgetown, and an interior designer for Woodward and Lothrop Department Store.
She graduated from Purdue University in 1966 with a degree in interior design.
She was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Martinsburg, and The Olde Berkeley Garden Club.
She married John Douglas Miller in 1971.
Surviving with her husband, and her mother, of Logansport, are two children, Anne Comfort Miller of Durham, N.C., and Douglas Gold Miller of Brekenridge, Colo.; a brother, Wilson C. Justice of Logansport; and a sister, Mary E. Lavender of Logansport.
A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Church, 200 W. King Street, Martinsburg, with the Rev. Jack T. Sutor Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Gerrardstown Presbyterian Cemetery.

Sandra L. Kerns, 50, of 1380 Wardensville Grade, Winchester, died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Kerns was born July 3, 1949, in Winchester, the daughter of Robert Cecil Boyce and Hilda M. Bowen Clark.
She was a seamstress with Midwesco Filter Resources of Winchester.
She married James M. Kerns Sr. on July 27, 1967, in Williamsport, Md.
Surviving are her husband; her father of Frederick County; her mother of Winchester; her stepmother, Elma V. Boyce of Frederick County; a son, James M. Kerns Jr. of Winchester; two daughters, Karen L. Kerns and Melissa M. Horwath, both of Winchester; a brother, Robert C Boyce Jr. of Stephenson; three sisters, Wanda Malone, Brenda Fleming, and Donna Surface, all of Winchester; and two grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Shenandoah Memorial Park Chapel with David Owings officiating. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Mark Andrew Wine, 30, of Sierra Vista, Ariz., died March 3, 2000, at his home.
Mr. Wine was born June 26, 1969, in Columbus, Ga.

Rose M. Hutchins, 83, of Venice, Fla., formerly of Annapolis, Md., died Feb. 28, 2000.
Mrs. Hutchins was born Sept. 20, 1916, in Hanover, Pa.
She was a past board member and volunteer with the American Red Cross, past president of Hospital Auxiliary of Venice Hospital, and a former member of the Venice Yacht Club.
Surviving are a sister, Neva Belle Forry of Hanover; and two brothers, John Carr of Winchester and Clifton G. Carr of Naples, Fla.
A private service is planned.

Robert L. Groves
Robert Lee Groves, 73, of 34781 Williams Gap Road, Round Hill, died Monday, March 6, 2000, at his home.
Mr. Groves was born Dec. 28, 1926, in Cramerton, N.C., the son of John E. Groves Sr. and Kathleen McGregor Groves. He was a builder and a Navy veteran of World War II.
He attended Round Hill Baptist Church, was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Gastonia, N.C., and Masonic Lodge No. 114, Leesburg.
He married Ruby Lane on Aug. 2, 1947, in Gastonia.
Surviving with his wife, are a daughter, Kathy Elaine Groves of Hamilton; two sons, Robert Keith Groves of Round Hill and Timothy Lee Groves of Kearneysville, W.Va.; five sisters, Margaret Moody and Laura Rogers, both of Gastonia, Mary Helen Cambic of Summersville, S.C., Frances Curry of Hartsville, N.C., and Brenda Howerter of Falls Church; two brothers, James E. Groves of Berryville and Harold M. Groves of Midland; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Stultz was born April 3, 1920, in Mathias, W.Va., the daughter of John F. and Julia Sager Mathias. She was a member of the Agape Family Fellowship.
She was married to Arley Stultz, who died in 1993.
Surviving are a daughter, Irene Mongold of Baker; two sons, Arley Stultz Jr. of Mathias and Benjamin Stultz of Union Springs, Ala.; three sisters, Beulah Barb of Timberville, Ressie Hahn of Wardensville, W.Va., and Mary Getz of Woodstock; a brother, Benjamin Mathias ; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Kathy Jane Ketchem Perry, 47, of Front Royal, died Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at her home.
Mrs. Perry was born Aug. 27, 1952, in Aiken, S.C., the daughter of Robert Leroy and Marjorie Jane Lindauer Ketchem.
She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
She was married to William “Billy” Alfred Perry III for 28 years.

Mrs. Brill was born Nov. 17, 1898, in Yellow Spring, the daughter of Tilbery M. and Lydia Pennington Spaid. She was a former postal worker at the Concord Post Office and a member of Timber Ridge United Church of Christ, High View, W.Va.
She was married to Walton E. Brill, who died May 12, 1975.
Surviving are a son, Clyde D. Brill of Leesburg; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Mr. Lee was born Feb. 18, 1924, in Norfolk, the son of Willie L. Smith Sr. and Hazel Harry Smith. He was the owner of Coastal Electric Co. Mr. Smith was an Army veteran, a life member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, and a member of Assembly of God, Manteo, N.C.
Surviving are his wife, Julia H. Smith; two daughters, Susan S. Morrison of Winchester and Carolyn S. Bowden of Norfolk; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Fulkerson was born Sept. 12, 1945, in Columbia City, Ind., the daughter of Charles L. and Frances Marie Flora McDaniel.
She had worked for Wampler Food Corp. in Moorefield, W.Va.
She was a 1963 graduate of Columbia City Joint High School in Columbia, Ind.
She was married to Dennis Lee Fulkerson.
Surviving with her husband are a son, David W. Bunch of Kokomo, Ind.; two daughters, Barbara J. Randolph of Greentown, Ind., and Christina F. Fulkerson of Burlington, W.Va.; two half-sisters, Mary Adams of Anderson, Ind., and Helen McDaniel of Pendleton, Ind.; and six grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney, W.Va., with the Rev. Ken Owens officiating. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Indiana. Burial will be in the South Whitley Cemetery, South Whitley, Ind.

Minnie Ellen Loy, 91, of P.O. Box 221, Augusta, W.Va., died Monday, March 6, 2000, in Hampshire Memorial Hospital, Romney, W.Va.
Mrs. Loy was born Jan. 29, 1909, in Hampshire County, W.Va., the daughter of William H. and Hannah S. Poland Beatty.
She was married to Roy D. Loy, who died April 20, 1968.
Surviving are five daughters, Vicki Combs and Susan C. Robertson, both of Augusta, Nancy D. Harvey of Frederica, Del., Rose E. Zammichieli of New Carrollton, Md., and Elizabeth Ours of Springfield, W.Va.; three sons, Thomas A. Loy of Frostburg, Md., and William J. Loy of Winchester, and Russell S. Loy of Augusta; three sisters, Mary Beatty, Emma Biser, and Violet Staggs, all of Burlington, W.Va.; two brothers, Richard S. Beatty of Burlington and Russell S. Betty of Keyser, W.Va.; 25 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Rosa L. Miller
Rosa Lee Miller, 78, of Route 1, Box 141, Baker, W.Va., died Monday, March 6, 2000, at Skilled Facility in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Mrs. Miller was born Dec. 30, 1921, in Hardy County, W.Va., the daughter of George D. and Minnie Stewart Combs.
She was an avid sewer of quilts. She was a member of the New Dale Church of the Brethren in Baker, W.Va.
She married Kenneth H. Miller on July 6, 1943, in Broadway. Mr. Miller died Jan. 10, 1996.
Surviving are three sons, David Miller of Winchester, Gary Miller of Baker, and Robert Miller of Moorefield, W.Va.; five daughters, Patsy Reel, Carolyn Milburn, Linda Funk, and Thelma Miller, all of Baker, and Brenda Brill of Wardensville, W.Va.; 14 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two step grandchildren; and one step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mitchell Miller.

Benton A. Heironimus
Benton Andrew Heironimus, 68, of 105 Knollwood Court, Winchester, died Friday, March 3, 2000, in the VA Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Mr. Heironimus was born Sept. 14, 1931, in Summit Point, W.Va., the son of John William and Zoe Rebecca Snapp Heironimus.
He was a carpenter for Hodgson Construction Co. and retired in 1994.
He was an Army veteran, with the rank of SP3.
He was a member of First Assembly of God in Winchester, where he was a former deacon, board member, and trustee. He was a former vice president of the Full Gospel Businessmen and attended Hayfield Assembly of God.
He married Constance Loretta Mason on Dec. 25, 1955, in Berryville.
Surviving with his wife, are three sons, Randy Heironimus, Dennis Heironimus, and David Heironimus, all of Winchester; a sister, Edna Kisner of Charles Town, W.Va.; and two brothers, Elwood Heironimus of Charles Town, W.Va., and Mitchell Heironimus of Winchester and seven grandchildren.

Melvin Ray Freeze, 80, of Kansas City, Mo., died Jan. 7, 2000, in Research Hospital, Kansas City.
Mr. Freeze was born Aug. 12, 1919, in Mason, Ohio, the son of Forest M. and Pearl Cottrill Freeze. He was a security guard and a Marine Corps veteran.
He was married to Myrtle Mae Good, who died Jan. 23, 1998.
Surviving is a brother, Paul Freeze of Mason.

Louise Ann Fiddler Clark, 73, formerly of 608 Watson Ave., Winchester, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, in Marshall Manor, Marshall.
Mrs. Clark was born May 1, 1926, in Clarke County, the daughter of Noble Grantham Fiddler and Mary Fiddler.
She worked for State Line Auto Auction. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 1367 of Winchester and the Eagles Club of Winchester.
Surviving are a daughter, Shelia Ann Hansen of Delaplane; a brother, Richard Fiddler of Purcellville; two sisters, Lucille McKay of Purcellville and Mary Funkhouser of Stephens City; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
