Ray L. DeHaven Sr.
Ray Lee DeHaven Sr., 74, of Frederick County, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, at his home.
Mr. DeHaven was born June 13, 1925, in Frederick County, the son of Oscar and Ruth Nutter DeHaven.
He was a retired Pentecostal minister and had retired from Abex Friction Products.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Jenkins of Winchester; four sons, Richard DeHaven of Front Royal, Jerry DeHaven and Terry DeHaven, both of Frederick County and Junior DeHaven of Winchester; a sister, Evelyn Eaton of Gainesboro; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Sherry DeHaven, is deceased.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the chapel of Michael R. Phelps & Associates Funeral Directors, Stephens City, with the Rev. Cletus Palmer officiating. Burial will be in Gainesboro Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be J.D. DeHaven, Chris DeHaven, Shawn DeHaven, Shane DeHaven, T.J. DeHaven, and Timmy DeHaven.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the chapel.
Lewis A. Rinebold
Lewis Allen Rinebold, 74, of Linden, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, in Inova Hospital, Fairfax.
Mr. Rinebold was born April 19, 1925, in Elmira, N.Y., the son of Raymond and Muriel Van Valkner Rinebold.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and received the Asiatic Pacific Medal with five Stars, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two stars, the American Theatre Medal, and the Victory Medal.
He was a member of Linden United Methodist Church and North Cameron Grange 355.
He was married to Margurete Louise Wilson for 51 years.
Surviving with his wife, are two sons, Mark Vernon Rinebold of Gainesville and Ronald Allen Rinebold of New Windsor, Md.; a daughter, Marcel Ann McCaig of Broad Run; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Linden United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Doug Stewart officiating. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, with military honors.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home, Front Royal.

Geraldine F. Cathcart
Geraldine F. Cathcart, 69, of West Parkins Mills Road, Winchester, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, at her home.
Mrs. Cathcart was born May 9, 1930, in Decatur County, Kan., the daughter of Carl M. and Edna Armstrong Van Pelt.
She worked in sales for Harris & Ewing Photography in Washington, D.C.
She was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
She married William E. Cathcart on July 23, 1946, in Oberlin, Kan.
Surviving with her husband, are a son, Terry L. Cathcart of Farmington, Utah; a daughter, Susan A. Diamantes of Fairfax; a sister, Peggy L. Wurm of Greeley, Colo.; a brother, the Rev. Eldred Van Pelt of Chickasha, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Macedonia United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Herbert K. Seemann officiating. Burial will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be David Diamantes, David Robinson, Ken Thompson, Seth Griffith, and Lawrence E. White.

Baden Larrick
Baden Larrick, 71, of Route 1, Box 655, High View, W.Va., died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Larrick was born May 25, 1928, in High View, W.Va., the son of James Walter and Myrtle V. Powell Larrick. He and his wife owned and operated Hidden Valley Orchard for 45 years.
He was a member of the loan committee of Commercial & Savings Bank for the Agricultural Lending Division, the Frederick County Fruit Growers Association, the Frederick County Farm Bureau, and Hampshire County Farm Bureau. He was a former member of Capon Bridge Ruritan Club and Shenandoah Apple Co-op of Winchester. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and a descendant of Casper Larrick, who first settled in Middletown at Larrick’s Tavern.
He attended Ebenezer Christian Church in Gore.
He married Glenna Brill on Dec. 23, 1948, in Oakland, Md.
Surviving with his wife, are two daughters, Linda L. Burges of Perth, West Australia, and Theresa L. Wissemann of Highland Ranch, Colo.; a sister, Rosalind Shoemaker of Winchester; and two grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Giffin Funeral Home, Capon Bridge, W.Va., with the Rev. Gregory R. Kenney officiating.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Mount Hebron Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mark Burkhart, James See, Charles Allen, Cecil Rinard, Bruce Larrick Jr., and Robert Larrick Jr.

Frederick A. Bihn
Frederick Arthur Bihn, 79, of 341 Cedarmeade Ave., Winchester, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, in a local nursing home.
Mr. Bihn was born Sept. 30, 1920, in Queens, N.Y., the son of Frederick Philip and Josephine Henning Bihn. He was a quality engineer with IBM and retired in 1987.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and Winchester Moose Lodge 1283.
He married Leita Larocca on Nov. 11, 1950, in New York, N.Y.
Surviving with his wife, are two daughters, Debbie Reisterer of State College, Pa., and Jan Gildersleave of Winchester; and a son, Arthur Bihn of Denver, N.C.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Christ Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Susan Buchanan officiating. Burial will be private.

Julia G. Clark
Julia Golightly Clark, 96, of Highland Avenue, Winchester, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, in a local nursing home.
Mrs. Clark was born July 11, 1903, in Frederick County, the daughter of John and Emma Knight Golightly.
She was a member of Montague Avenue United Methodist Church.
She married Charlie F. Clark in 1920 in Hagerstown, Md. Mr. Clark died Feb. 11, 1970.
Surviving are a daughter, Hilda C. Rinker of Winchester; three sons, Charles E. Clark and Lawrence Richard Clark , both of Winchester, and Donald E. Clark of Alexandria; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A son, Robert Leroy Clark, and a daughter, Helen Louise Clark, are deceased.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home, with the Rev. Herbert K. Seeman officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery.

Howard V. Cornell
Howard Vernon “George” Cornell, 88, of Burke, formerly of Fairfax, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, in Evergreen Health and Rehabilitation Center, Winchester.
Mr. Cornell was born May 24, 1911, in Front Royal, the son of Howard and Emma Foster Cornell. He was a retired carpenter.
He was married to Rebecca Virginia Thorpe.
Surviving are two sons, Hollis Cornell of Hurst, Texas, and Boyd Cornell of Burke; a sister, Irene Costello of Front Royal; and a grandson.

Daniel E. Wilson
Daniel Emory Wilson, 84, of 246 Apple Valley Road, Winchester, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Wilson was born March 4, 1915, in Dorcas, W.Va., the son of Robert Bell and Gertrude Crites Wilson.
He was service manager with Kern Motor Co. and retired in 1977 after 29 years. He was a member of Kernstown United Methodist Church.
He married Audrey Maxine Brown on May 29, 1935, in Moorefield, W.Va. Mrs. Wilson died May 22, 1987.
Surviving are two daughters, Vivian Lorraine Wilson and Norma Ruth Wilson, both of Winchester; four sons, Robert William Wilson, Kenneth Daniel Wilson and, Donivan Emory Wilson, all of Winchester, and Blane Eugene Wilson of Front Royal; three sisters, Virginia Evans of Moorefield and Naomi Hoover and Mary Webber, both of Winchester; and seven grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Omps Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mary Beth Blinn and the Rev. Charles H. Harless officiating. Burial will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.

Elmer L. DeHaven
Elmer L. DeHaven, 88, of Granny Lane, Winchester, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. DeHaven was born June 11, 1911, in Gainesboro, the son of Effie Jane DeHaven. He worked for the Winchester Railroad and the Winchester Woolen Mill.
He was a member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church.
He married Madeline Shanholtz on March 5, 1932.
Surviving with his wife, are four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A son, Delmer Linden DeHaven, is deceased.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home, with the Rev. Floetta G. Legg officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Hayfield.

Robert L. Carper
Robert “Bobby” Lee Carper, 60, of Rt. 2, Box 490, Harpers Ferry, W.Va., died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, in Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.
Mr. Carper was born Oct. 15, 1939, in Stanley, the son of George W. Carper and Myrtle Daisy Seal. He was a service station mechanic and an Army veteran.
Surviving are four daughters, Vicki C. Surface of Stephenson, Lisa E. Williamson of Harpers Ferry, and Mikkia M. Linaburg and Robyn R. Graves, both of Winchester; a son, Ty L. Carper of Winchester; and 11 grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bradley Funeral Home, Luray, with the Rev. David Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, Stanley.

Margaret M. Jensen
Margaret M. Jensen, 86, of Fairfax, formerly of Winchester, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, in Fairfax Hospital.
Mrs. Jensen was born Dec. 3, 1913, in Stephenson. She was a longtime member of Braddock Street United Methodist Church.
She was married to Lt. Col. Oral J. Jensen. Her first husband was Albin P. Dove. Her second husband was Andrew F. Bean.
Surviving are three children, Jean D. Brant of Alexandria, Mary Jo Trevey of Lexington, Ky., and Wilbur G. Dove of Vienna; and two grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Everly Funeral Home, Fairfax. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Lena J. Shifflett
Lena Jane Williams Shifflett, 84, of 120 Elaine Drive, Winchester, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Shifflett was born Feb. 14, 1915, in Front Royal, the daughter of George Calvin and Hester Hannah Agnes Woodard Williams. She was a seasonal worker with National Fruit Product Co.
She was a member of Woodbine Assembly of God in Clearbrook, and attended Friendship Tabernacle.
She was married to Anfield Shifflett, who died in 1957.
Surviving are four daughters, Ella Jean Brannon of Cross Junction, Mary L. Wilkens of Stephens City, and Lillie M. Shifflett and Ruth S. Graves, both of Winchester; three sons, Charles D. Shifflett of Winchester, Paul A. Shifflett of Chelsea, Mass., and David E. Shiflet of Clearbrook; two stepdaughters, Ruby Harden of Clearbrook and Julia Palmer of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; a stepson, Ray Shifflett of Winchester; a sister, Mabel Sechrist of Paris; 32 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Two daughters, Anna Mae Brannon and Dorothy McFarland, two sons, Arthur A. Shiflet and Donnie L. Shifflett, and a stepson, Junior Shifflett, are deceased.
