Geneva V. Keller
Geneva Virginia Keller, 89, formerly of Mount Olive, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at The Home, Woodstock.
Mrs. Keller was born Sept. 8, 1910, in Mount Olive, the daughter of Charles and Mary Coffman Hamman.
She was a member of the Harrisville United Church of Christ and a member of the Ladies Guild of the church.
She was married to Glenn S. Keller.
Surviving are two sons, Charles F. Keller and Gary L. Keller of Mount Olive; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at Keller Cemetery by the Rev. Paul Phillips.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight and will meet at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Lena M. McKnight
Lena Murray McKnight, 76, of Massanutten Circle, Strasburg, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. McKnight was born Dec. 20, 1924, in Louisville, Ky., the daughter of Joe B. and Grace Neal Murray. She was an artist.
She married William J. McKnight in 1949 in Owensboro, Ky. Mr. McKnight died Dec. 4, 1999.
Surviving are a daughter, Murray McKnight of Winchester; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.

Ellen I. VanKeuren
Ellen Isabelle VanKeuren, 81, of 101 Mountain Lake Lane, Paris, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. VanKeuren was born Jan. 1, 1919, in Portland, Maine, the daughter of Edward and Isabelle Brodie MacFarlane. He was owner and operator of Mountain Lake Campground.
Surviving are a son, Edward VanKeuren of Paris; and two grandchildren.
A private service is planned.

Adeline “Addie” North, 92, of Front Royal, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at her home.
Mrs. North was born June 21, 1907, in Rappahannock County, the daughter of Martha Jane Elkins and William “Will” North.
Surviving a daughter, Elizabeth North Jenkins of Front Royal; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home, Front Royal, with the Rev. James Burke officiating. Burial will be in Willis Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Frazier, Earl Williams, Jeff Williams, Darren Williams, Billy North, and Lee North.

James E. Payne
James Elwood Payne, 72, of Front Royal, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Payne was born April 28, 1927, in Fauquier County, the son of Susie Hill and Luther Elwood Payne.
He and his wife, Pearlie Mae Payne, were married 43 years.
Surviving with his wife, are a son, Gregory Elsworth Payne of Front Royal; and a sister, Laura Robinson of Front Royal.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mt. Morris Baptist Church, Hume, with Elder Lindsey Green officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Morris Community Cemetery.

Walter M. Hamilton
Walter M. “Buck” Hamilton, 82, of Broad Avenue, Winchester, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Hamilton was born Oct. 24, 1917, in Mt. Jackson, the son of Oliver C. and Mary H. Hamilton.
He had worked for C.L. Robinson Cold Storage for 32 years. He was a welder and self-employed builder.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He and his wife, Elizabeth A. Hamilton, were married June 11, 1960, in Hagerstown, Md.
Surviving with his wife, are a daughter, Joyce Ann Mauck of Winchester; two sisters, Mary Barr of Winchester and Hilda Hensley of Smithburg, Md.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Thelma J. Barb, is deceased.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Jones Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Smith officiating. Burial will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, with military honors accorded by the VFW.
Pallbearers will be Oliver Houghton, Stephen R. Mauck, James Ramey, Jacob Houghton, John Lee Patterson, Roger Nichols, Charles Barr, and Thomas Miller.

Alice M. Heltzel
Alice M. Heltzel, 96, of Johnson Drive, Winchester, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Heltzel was born Dec. 23, 1903, in Wardensville, W.Va., the daughter of Grace Miller.
She had worked at National Fruit Product Co. and was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ.
Surviving are a daughter, Pauline Massie; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A son, Hollis Heltzel, and a daughter, Irene Patterson, are deceased.
A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday in Mount Hebron Cemetery, with Dr. Ewart H. Wyle Jr. officiating.

Marvin Darewood “Mad Dog” Wagner, 51, of Paper Mill Road, Winchester, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Wagner was born Nov. 28, 1948, in Winchester, the son of Marvin and Louise Grove Wagner. He was a welder with Fiber Tech for 30 years.
He was a member of Braddock Street United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sisters, Delena Fiddler of Fairfax and Dorma Tiller of Winchester; and a nephew, Jeff Tiller of Winchester, whom he raised.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Mount Hebron Cemetery, with the Rev. David Burrough officiating.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Jones Funeral Home.
Maxine E. Saville
Maxine Elosser Saville, 81, of Wardensville, W.Va., died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at the home of her daughter, Wardensville.
Mrs. Saville was born July 25, 1918, in Fabius, W.Va., the daughter of Roy and Estella Wolfe Elosser. She was a member of Wardensville United Methodist Church.
She was married to James B. Saville, who died May 1, 1976.
Surviving are two sons, James Richard “Dick” Saville of Sterling and Robert D. Saville of Wardensville; a daughter, Bonnie Kohne of Wardensville; three brothers, Paul Elosser of Fayetteville, N.C., Ralph Elosser of Winchester, and Glen Elosser of Moorefield, W.Va.; a sister, Betty Mathias of Lanham, Md.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Connie Rinard, is deceased.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Wardensville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jeff Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Wardensville Cemetery.

Richard C. Curtis
Richard Carl Curtis, 86, of 408 Delaware Road, Frederick, Md., died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, in Northampton Manor Nursing Home, Frederick.
Mr. Curtis was born Oct. 30, 1913, in Raleigh, N.C., the son of Robert S. and Myrtle Spangler Curtis. He worked for North American Phillips installing garage doors and garage door openers. He retired in 1972 as manager of Southern States Petroleum and had been district manager of Southern States and manager of Southern States Cooperative Inc. in Richmond.
He attended North Carolina State University.
He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and the Civitan Club, both of Frederick.
He was married to Anita E. Register for 61 years.
Surviving with his wife, are a son, Raymond Alan Curtis of Frederick; a daughter, Lynda Ann Curtis Carpenter of Winchester; two sisters, Margaret S. Cunningham of Fairfield Bay, Ark., and Nellie H. Sharp of Virginia Beach; two granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Stauffer Funeral Home, Frederick, with the Rev. Robert E. Manthey officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.

Walter H. Jackson
Walter Henry Jackson, 95, of 206 N. Buckmarsh St., Berryville, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Jackson was born Feb. 14, 1904, in Clarke County, the son of Coleridge and Mary Jordan Jackson Morrison. He retired after 40 years at Westwood Farms in Berryville.
He was a member of St. Luke Baptist Church, Berryville.
He married Effie Howard on June 29, 1925, in Charles Town, W.Va. Mrs. Jackson died July 27, 1996.
Surviving are a daughter, Stella Mason of Berryville; a sister, Louise Cooper of Kittanning, Pa.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Annie Lewis, is deceased.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke Baptist Church, Berryville, with the Rev. Charles Dekle officiating. Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Franklintown, W.Va.

John E. Hartley Jr., 52, of Strasburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Hartley was born Jan. 18, 1948, in Winchester, the son of John E. and Alice Fuller Hartley. He was a retired truck driver for H.C. Gabler Trucking and Allegheny Freight. He was a 1968 graduate of James Wood High School.
He attended Refuge Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Kim Simpson of Pennsylvania; a stepdaughter, Ionya Henry of Delaware; two stepsons, John W. Neff and Joey Neff, both of Stephens City; three sisters, Barbara J. Moss of Strasburg, Sharon L. Hartley of Petersburg, and Brenda D. Lambert of Stephens City; and four grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Jones Funeral Home, with Allen Roby officiating. Burial will be in Refuge Church Cemetery, Frederick County.
