Robert J. Reynolds, 51, of 1055 Lower Valley Road, Strasburg, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, at his home.
Mr. Reynolds was born July 20, 1948, in Pittsburgh, the son of William Reynolds and Marie Reich Reynolds. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Merrifield and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was married to the former Maxine Lacey.
Surviving are a son Michael Reynolds of Washington, D.C.; and five brothers, Terry Reynolds of Baltimore, William J. Reynolds of Islip Terrace, N.Y., Mark J. Reynolds of Carteret, N.J., Kevin J. Reynolds of Butler, Pa., and Michael J. Reynolds.
Services will be private.

Archie A. Haines
Archie Arnold Haines, 78, of Romney, W.Va., died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Cumberland, Md.
Mr. Haines was born June 24, 1921, in Romney, the son of Archie G. and Eula A. Arnold Haines.
He worked as a route salesman and retired as plant supervisor from the Romney Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in 1983 after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Romney Volunteer Fire Company.
Surviving is a brother, Larry R. Haines of Romney.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Shaffer Funeral Home with the Rev. Joel Porter officiating. Burial will be in Indian Mound Cemetery in Romney.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney.
Carmen C. Hendrickson
Carmen Clinedinst Hendrickson, 87, of Newark, Del., died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at her home.
Mrs. Hendrickson was born Sept. 22, 1912, in Romney, W.Va., the daughter of Wade Clinedinst Sr. and Mary Lydia Shoemaker Clinedinst. She was a waitress at several restaurants in the New Castle County, Pa., area and an avid gardener and Philadelphia Phillies fan.
She was married to Kenneth Lee Hendrickson, who died Sept. 6, 1983.
She was the last member of her immediate family.
A graveside service will be at noon Wednesday at High Cemetery, Purgitsville, W.Va. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney.

Paul A. Wolford
Paul Andrew Wolford, 53, of Winchester died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at his home.
Mr. Wolford was born May 1, 1946, in Mount Storm, W.Va., the son of Ira Wilson Wolford and Bernice V. Wolford. He worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the Berryville Moose Lodge.
Surviving with his mother of Leesburg are his wife, Bonnie L. Wolford; a son, Christopher Wolford of Winchester; a daughter, Kiersten Walker of Winchester; three step-daughters, Angela George, Kim Ritter, and Barby Thompson, all of Winchester; two brothers, John Wolford of McDonald, Pa., and James Wolford of Cannonsburg, Pa.; five sisters, Esther Hafner of Kearneysville, W.Va., Martha Payne of Winchester, Ruth Alban of Colonial Beach, Naomi Pearson of Leesburg, and Ruby Phillips of Petersburg, W.Va.; and three grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home, Purcellville with the Rev. Cletus Palmer officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Hamilton.

Robert Elliott True, 74, of 1301 Caroline St., Winchester, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. True was born June 7, 1925, in East Falls Church, the son of William John and Matilda Frances Elliot True. He was a budget analyst for the Department of the Navy and retired in 1973.
He was in the Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Winchester.
He married Marian Markward on April 13, 1946, in Falls Church.
Surviving with his wife, are two daughters, Donna Armani of Sterling and Linda Louise True at home; and two grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jim Fuller officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. in National Memorial Park, Falls Church.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Jones Funeral Home.

Alma B. Stickles
Alma Broy Stickles, 88, of 1197 Cedar Hill Road, Clearbrook, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, in a local nursing home.
Mrs. Stickles was born Nov. 29, 1911, in Clarke County, the daughter of Charles Lacy and Nancy Willingham Locke Broy. She was a member of Welltown United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the United Methodist Women.
She was married to John T. Stickles, who died Aug. 6, 1985.
Surviving are a son, John T. Stickles Jr. of Clearbrook; two sisters, Pauline Heflin of Berryville and Elizabeth Simpson of Round Hill; a brother, Lacy Broy of Winchester; two grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home, Berryville, with the Rev. John Julcher and the Rev. Jay Kelchner officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville.
Pallbearers will be Calvin Heflin, Jimmy Stickles, Wayne Anderson, David Moulden, Warren Snapp, and Gordon Watts.

Lowell T. Monk
Lowell Thomas Monk, 61, of Stephens City, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Monk was born Feb. 19, 1938, in Russell County, the son of Charles Hayes and Florence Long Monk. He retired from O’Sullivan after 35 years.
He married Carolyn Funkhouser on Sept. 18, 1968, in Hagerstown, Md.
Surviving with his wife, are two daughters, Crystal Whetzel of Edinburg and Carole Judy of Stephens City; two sons, Martin Monk of Middletown and Michael Monk of Winchester; two sisters, Louise Burner of Berryville and Mary Ann Chadwell of Middletown; two brothers, John Monk of Lebanon and Warren Monk of Frederick County; and six grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Reliance United Methodist Church, with Dr. William N. Wade officiating.

Linwood Ashby
Linwood “Mose” Ashby, 71, of Mansfield Drive, Temple Hills, Md., died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, in Andrews Air Force Base Hospital, Camp Springs, Md.
Mr. Ashby was born Dec. 19, 1928, in Middletown, the son of Thomas Lewis Ashby and Lillian Grant Ashby. He was a retired Navy veteran and a also retired from the government.
He was married to the former Dorothy Alexander.
Surviving with his wife are three sons, Linwood Ashby Jr. and Terry Ashby, both of Winchester, and Tony Ashby of Seattle; three daughters, Kathy Long of Winchester, Trudy Ashby of Seattle, and Kim Ashby of Morro Bay, Calif.; a stepson, Herbert Hixon of Luray; a stepdaughter, Alyce Sherman of Lee Summitt, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A son, Kenneth L. Ashby is deceased.
A funeral will be at noon Monday at Cartwright Funeral Home, Winchester, with the Rev. Kevin Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Orrick Cemetery, Winchester.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home before the service.
Jack Aldridge
Jack Aldridge, 74, of 201 Shawnee Ave., Winchester, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, in the VA Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Mr. Aldridge was born May 4, 1925, in Spear, N.C., the son of Lloyd and Lizzie Howard Aldridge. He retired in 1988 as group leader at VDO Yazaki Corp. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and retired from the Army with the rank of staff sergeant.
He married Edelwina Faeth on May 24, 1950, in Aschafferburg, Germany.
Surviving with his wife, are two sons, Ralph Aldridge of Hickory, N.C., and Garry Aldridge of Winchester; two sisters, Lohr Ledford of North Carolina and Betty Riffe of Mims, Fla.; two brothers, Joe Aldridge and Earl Aldridge, both of North Carolina; and two grandchildren.
A private graveside service will in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum, with Pastor Clarence Davis Jr. officiating. Military honors will be accorded by VFW Post 2123.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Jones Funeral Home.

Mary F. Lipscomb
Mary F. Lipscomb, 80, of Wilson’s Mills, N.C., died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at her home.
Mrs. Lipscomb was born March 30, 1919, in Gifford, Fla., the daughter of Dortch and Anna Floyd.
She was married to James Clyde Lipscomb.
Surviving are a son, James Lipscomb of Strasburg; a daughter, Vicki Toler of Wilson’s Mills; and four grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Sugg Funeral Home, Fuqay-Varina, N.C., with the Rev. Don Mason officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Fuqay-Varina.
Marvin R. Smith
Marvin Ray Smith, of Michigan, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000.
Mr. Smith was born April 7, 1931, in West Virginia.
He was retired from Northwest Airlines and worked at Skore Lanes in Taylor, Mich.
Surviving are his wife, Inez Carol; two sons, Jeffrey J. Smith of Dexter, Mich., and Kevin B. Smith of Taylor; four brothers, Ernest Smith of Rio, W.Va., Cecil Smith of Yellow Spring, W.Va., Earl Smith of Gore, and Alvin Smith of Wardensville, W.Va.; three sisters, Lula Walker of Wardensville, Hilda Braithwaite of Winchester, and Linda Davis of Delray, W.Va.; and two grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 10:30 today at Taylor Chapel of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home in Taylor.
Burial will be in Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock, Mich.

Arthur L. Douglas Jr., 63, of 1811 Berryville Pike, Winchester, died Thursday Jan. 6, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Douglas was born Feb. 14, 1936, in Middleburg, the son of Arthur L. Douglas Sr. and Mary Strozier. He was a retired computer specialist with the Defense Mapping Agency.
Surviving are a son, Keith Eric Douglas of Berryville; a daughter, Kristen Carol Douglas of Sterling; a stepdaughter, Shawana Haight of Reston; seven sisters, Constance Lacy, Peggy Bell, Betty O’Banion, and Diane Scott, all of Leesburg, Paula Anderson of Herndon, Gloria Robinson of Fairfax, and Gail Douglass of Middleburg; three brothers, Frederick Douglass and Alvin Douglass both of Fairfax, and Raymond Douglass of Middleburg; and five grandchildren.
A funeral service will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Cartwright Funeral Home with the Rev. Albert G. Parks officiating.
