Henry L. Jackson
Henry Leroy Jackson, 63, of Gaithersburg, Md., died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, in the Washington Hospital Center.
Mr. Jackson was July 29, 1937, in Fauquier County, the son of John R. and Ella Lewis Jackson.
He was retired from H.D. Smithy Realty. He was a member of Guilfield Primitive Baptist Church in Millwood and Warren Lodge #8.
He married Ann Jackson on Jan. 11, 1958, in Berryville.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Joy Jackson of Gaithersburg and Pamela Taylor of Richmond, Texas; a brother, John Jackson of Warrenton; three sisters, Katie Lewis and Julia O’Banion, both of Arlington, and Catherine Carter of Front Royal; and one grandchild.
A son, Henry Leroy Jackson Jr., is deceased.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Enders and Shirley Funeral Home Chapel in Berryville with Pastors Harold Brown and Francine Singletary officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Morris Cemetery in Hume.
Pallbearers will be members of Shenandoah Lodge No. 325.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Dorothy E. Speelman
Dorothy E. Speelman, 72, of Lone Pine Drive, Timberville, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, at her home.
Mrs. Speelman was born March 26, 1928, in Shenandoah County, the daughter of Elzie and Ella May Jenkins Henson. She was a homemaker.
She married Austin Speelman in 1964 in Florida.
Surviving with her husband are three sons, Roger Wingfield of Forrestville, Allen Wingfield of Winchester, and Jerry Wingfield of Charles Town, W.Va.; three daughters, Mary Ann Williams of Collins, Miss., and Shirley Wingfield and Margaret Wingfield, both of Baker, W.Va.; a brother, Glennis Henson of Bridgewater; 26 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Jones Funeral Home, with the Rev. Anthony A. Wadsworth officiating. Burial will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Roger Wingfield, Robert Bermudez, Roger Wingfield Jr., Allen Wingfield, Jerry Wingfield, and Maria Bermudez.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Gladys B. Locke
Gladys Burchell Locke, 89, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, in a local nursing home.
Mrs. Locke was born Dec. 13, 2000, in Kearneysville, W.Va., the daughter of John Foster and Lucy Elizabeth Fox Burchell.
She was a saleswoman at Nichols’ and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She married James A. D. Locke May 10, 1952, in Winchester.
Surviving are a daughter, Eleanor L. Hess of Winchester; a son, John E. Lyne of Winchester; two sisters, Kathryn S. Krump and Eva S. Walters, both of Winchester; nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Her daughter, Betty Jane Turner, is deceased.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Winchester National Cemetery with the Rev. Anthony A. Wadsworth officiating. Friends may call at any time at Jones Funeral Home.
Floy L. Swanson
Floy Linn Swanson, 91, of Westminster-Canterbury, Winchester, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Swanson was born Jan. 14, 1909, in Espyville, Pa., the daughter of Free and Retta McQuiston Linn. She was a court stenotypist and retired in 1988.
She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution.
She married Kenneth A. Swanson on Dec. 27, 1946, in Garden City, Long Island, N.Y.
Surviving with her husband are a sister, Marguerite Easton of Marshalltown, Iowa; and a brother, Frank Linn of Espyville.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Philip E. DeHaven
Philip E. DeHaven of Stephens City died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000, in the Winchester Medical Center.

Junior S. Livingston
Junior S. Livingston, 50, of Malvern, Ark., died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, in Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.
Mr. Livingston was born Dec. 7, 1949, in Mississippi, the son of Marvin Scheffer and Lillie Donzie Watkins Livingston.
He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was a truck driver for J.B. Hunt and a member of the Traskwood American Legion Post 263.
Surviving are his wife, Diane Livingston of Middletown; a son, Jonathon Dozier of Malvern; three sisters, two brothers, and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in the Little Rock National Cemetery with full military honors with the Rev. John Horton officiating.
The family received friends at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Regency Funeral Home in Malvern.
Ada F. Jenkins
Ada May Fincham Jenkins, 68, of Washington, Va. died Friday Nov. 24, 2000, at Moran Manor Nursing Home in Westerport, Md.
She was born May 30, 1932 in Washington, the daughter of James Albert Fincham and Emily Frances Jenkins.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Charles Rushell of Baltimore, Md.; five daughters, Charlotte Zais of Cumberland, Md., Brenda Chrisman of Front Royal, Nancy Rushell of Baltimore, Elizabeth Fincham of Aroda, and Joan Fincham of Charlottesville; a brother, James Fincham of Front Royal; three half-brothers, Davis Fincham and Robert Fincham, both of Aroda, and Herbert Fincham of Front Royal; two sisters, Honey Bee Rushell of Baltimore and Helen Gray of Washington; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Washington Masonic Cemetery with the Rev. John Burke officiating.

Delores A. Dresely, 66, of Winchester died Sunday Nov. 26, 2000, in the Winchester Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 20, 1934, the daughter of LeRoy and Stella Johnson Groener.
She married John W. Dresely April 17, 1954 in Washington, D.C.
She was self-employed and owned a needlecraft shop.
Survivors include three sons, Dr. John W. Dresely Jr. of Manassas, Kevin Dresely of Westfield, N.J., and Erik Dresely of Roanoke; a daughter, Anita D. Hill of Winchester; and five grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Quantico National Cemetery in Quantico.

Clyde Blake Jr.
Clyde “Lee” Blake Jr., 38, of Salem, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, from injuries received in a hunting accident near Renick, W.Va.
Mr. Blake was the son of Clyde Lee Blake and Elizabeth Kellison Hanna. He was a truck driver for USF Red Star Express in Salem and a member of Teamsters Local 171 of Roanoke.
Surviving with his father, of Winchester, and mother, of Renick, are two sisters, Ressie Windon of Hillsboro, W.Va., and Sheila Yates of Marlinton, W.Va.; a brother, Kevin Blake of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and his stepfather, Monford Hanna of Renick.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg, W.Va., with the Rev. Ron Miller officiating. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery, Renick.

Charles T. Oliver
Charles Tinsley “Wiggie” Oliver, 63, of Front Royal, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, in Warren County.
Mr. Oliver was born Dec. 31, 1936, in Warren County, the son of Ida Revells and Marion R. Oliver. He was a bricklayer and an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was married to Charlotte “Jo” Tomblin Oliver for 40 years.
Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Tracy Oliver Poland of Front Royal; two brothers, James C. Oliver of Warrenton and Marion E. Oliver of Virginia; five sisters, Lucy Foster of Flint Hill, Helen Linaburg of Winchester, Betty Lowery of Stephens City, Shirley Braithwaite of Cross Junction, and Eleanor Knight of Berryville; and a grandson.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home, Front Royal, with Pastor Richard Ridgeway officiating. Burial will be private.

Melvin S. Leese, 83, of Ridgeley, W.Va., died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Surviving are his wife, Martha Lee Hersberger Leese; two daughters, Regina L. Baldin of Winchester and Rita G. Beeman of Ridgeley; two brothers; a sister; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Sally J. Stephenson
Sally Joan Larrison Stephenson, 70, of 238 Greenbriar Circle, Cross Junction, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Stephenson was born March 16, 1930, in Colorado Springs, Colo., the daughter of Floyd Hershel and Esther Cope Larrison. She was a substitute teacher in Fairfax County and attended Wilson Teachers College in Washington, D.C.
She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, the Winchester-Frederick County Historical Society, and Preservation of Historic Winchester. She was a volunteer with the Girl Scouts.
She married Richard Walter Stephenson on July 20, 1951, in Washington, D.C.
Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Cheryl Ann Graziano of Louisa County and Deborah Marie Riegert of Fairfax County; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Christ Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Douglas McCallum officiating.

Margaret Marie Tigney, 62, of Front Royal, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Tigney was born June 1, 1938, in Herndon, the daughter of Marie Wilkerson and Edward Hembry.
She was married to Charles Tigney.
Surviving with her husband are three sons, Charles Tigney, Michael Tigney, and Barry Tigney, all of Front Royal; three daughters, Bonnie Eaton of Alexandria, and Wanda Carter and Moneda Carter, both of Washington, D.C; two brothers, Edward Hembry Jr. of Warrenton and James Hembry of Alexandria; two sisters, Judy Robinson of Fairfax and Linda Scott of Arlington; 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Bertha Hill, is deceased.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, with the Rev. Alfred Woods officiating. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Tigney, Preston Tigney, James Freeman, Michael Roy, Germaine Tigney, James Starkes, and Jesse Porter.
