Patsy Virginia Turner Seal, 67, of Front Royal, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, in the Lynn Care Center, Front Royal.
Mrs. Seal was born Sept. 8, 1933, in New Market, the daughter of Wade and Laura Strickler Turner. She was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
She attended Luray Christian Church.
She was married to Roland R. Seal.
Surviving are two daughters, Cindy Mathews Pingley of Front Royal and Lisa Seal Blake of Charlottesville; a brother, Raymond Lee Turner of York, Pa.; two sisters, Charlotte Painter of Luray and Betty Wooten of Oakton; and two grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal, with the Rev. Wayne Woodard officiating. Burial will be in Beahm’s Chapel Cemetery, Luray.
Pallbearers will be Allen Pingley, Kenny Belew, Tony Turner, Robert Dengler, Wayne Painter, and Haywood Seal.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Charlotte L. Sealock
Charlotte Lee Corbin Sealock, 57, of Falls Church, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, in INOVA Hospital, Fairfax.
Mrs. Sealock was born March 11, 1943, in Front Royal, the daughter of Ertha Florence Hawkins and Warren Burnam Corbin.
She was married to Robert “Bobby” Sealock for 37 years.
Surviving with her husband and her mother, of Five Forks, are a daughter, Karen Lynn Sealock of Nags Head, N.C.; and a sister, Shirley A. Foster of Flint Hill.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home, Front Royal, with the Rev. Roger Smith officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Sealock, Mike Sealock, Stevie Sealock, Rodney Sealock, Todd Sealock, and Chris Sealock.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Janet V. Simmons
Janet Virginia Simmons, 63, of Anchorage, Alaska, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, at her home.
Mrs. Simmons was born Nov. 18, 1936, in Winchester, the daughter of David and Martha Kerns. She was a ceramics artist and former owner of the Alaska Mud Puddle.
She was a member of Anchorage Quality Life Center Church and was active with the English congregation of Korean Open Door Presbyterian Church.
She was married to the Rev. Charles Simmons for 47 years.
Surviving with her husband are three sons, Charles Simmons Jr. of Seattle, Bryan Simmons of Stafford, and the Rev. Tracy Simmons of Anchorage; a daughter, Connie Crawford of Anchorage; two brothers, Kenneth Kerns and Ricky Kerns, both of Winchester; and 10 grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 7 p.m. today at South Anchorage Baptist Church, with the Rev. Pat Hadley officiating.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Anchorage or the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are being handled by Kehl’s Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel and Crematory.
Willie C. Platt
Willie C. “Bill” Platt, 69, of Inwood, W.Va. died Friday Nov. 10, 2000 at his home.
He was born Aug. 7, 1931, in Verden, Okla., the son of Ray Columbus and Retha Hill Platt.
He was a retired home builder and a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force.
Survivors including his wife, Ellis B. Robey Platt, are three sons, Darrell A. Platt, Dwayne L. Platt, and Carlin R. Platt, all of Inwood; four daughters, Brenda L. Greenfield, Cheryl D. Anders, and Kelly Hooe, all of Inwood and Sonya D. Shreck of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; a brother, Odie Platt of Oklahoma City, Okla; three sisters, Christine Stevens of Oklahoma City, Geneva Robins and Wilma Cryar, both of Bethany, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; and three great-granchildren.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the South Berkeley Chapel of the Brown Funeral Home in Inwood with the Rev. Harry R. “Bud” Yoder officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Inwood.

Delma M. Gear
Delma M. Gear, 79, died Sunday Nov. 12, 2000, in the Winchester Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 8, 1921, in Front Royal, daughter of Sarah Tharpe Grove and Roy Howard.
She was a homemaker and a member of Highland Memorial Presbyterian Church.
She married Richard H. Gear Sr. Sept. 20, 1941, in Williamsport, Md. He died July 26, 1980.
Survivors include three sons, Richard H. Gear Jr. and Russell G. Gear, both of Winchester, and Hunter E. Gear of Clearbrook; a daughter, Roxanne Breeden of Winchester; a foster daughter, Mary Turben of Sunnyside; a half-sister, Alice E. Sager of Jacksonville, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David R. Burrough officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hebron Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jason Patterson, Kevin Breeden, Robert Turben, Greg Frye, Robert L. Turben and Erin Patterson.

K. George Hagerty
Kenneth George Hagerty, 84, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, at Valley View Nursing Home in Berkeley Springs.
He was born Aug. 4, 1916.
Mr. Hagerty was a member of Union Chapel Methodist Church in Berkeley Springs and was a retired U. S. government employee.
His wife, Lilly Eugenie Hagerty, died Feb. 20, 1995.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home in Berkeley Springs with Pastor Michael W. Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery in Berkeley Springs.

Hunter R. Lloyd
Hunter Russell Lloyd, 81, of Rippon, W.Va. died Friday Nov. 10, 2000, at his home.
He was born May 18, 1919, in Summit Point, W.Va., the son of Aaron Burr and Bessie M. Feltner Lloyd.
He was a Jefferson county farmer and had retired from the 3M Company in 1985 and from the Charles Town Race Track in 1995.
He was a member of the Berryville Baptist Church.
He was married to Frances L. Ceravalo Lloyd for 59 years.
Survivors including his wife are two sons, Russell Lloyd of Charles Town, W.Va. and Richard “Ike” Lloyd of Rippon; a daughter, Wanda Harrell of Middleway, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Berryville Baptist Church with Dr. William E. Ingram and Dr. Wyman Hall officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Harrell, Raymond Harrell, Ricky Lloyd, Rupe Frame, Conard Burner, Glendwell Lloyd, Ed Cross, and Kevin Weaver.

Maxine L. Miller
Maxine LeVerne Miller, 66, of 129 Blossom Drive died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, in the Winchester Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 19, 1933, in Shockeysville, the daughter of Isaac Wood and Mary Katherine Mason Luttrell.
She married Harry Elmer Miller Jr. May 1, 1952, in Winchester.
She was a member of the Eagles and Moose Clubs.
Survivors with her husband are a son, Harry Elmer Miller III of Winchester; two daughters, Kathey LeVerne Braithwaite and Marita Burrows, both of Capon Bridge, W.Va.; a brother, Lynn Luttrell of Cross Junction; a sister Naomi Adams of Winchester; and six grandchildren.
A funeral was at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, at the Giffin Funeral home in Capon Bridge.
Pallbearers were Carol Luttrell, Moe Luttrell, Marcus Adams, Greg Luttrell, Elmer Christian Sr., and Eddie Higgs.

Evelyn J. DeHon
Evelyn Johnson DeHon, 87, of Winchester died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, at The Willows at Meadow Branch.
She was born Jan. 8, 1913, the daughter of Walker W. and Ada Mae Brumback Johnson.
She was the manager of the antiques section of Simonpietri’s Gift Shop in Front Royal.
She was a member of the Arlington Presbyterian Church. She was married to Louis August DeHon Jr.
Survivors include eight cousins.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal with Dr. Art Stanley officiating. Burial will be private.

Helen W. Pitsenbarger
Helen W. Pitsenbarger, 79, of 1660 Reliance Road, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at her home.
Mrs. Pitsenbarger was born Nov. 15, 1920, in Ridgewood, W.Va., the daughter of E.K. and Maude Kelly Bittner.
She was a member of The Cornerstone Baptist Church in Front Royal.
She was a homemaker.
She was married to Lantie Albert Pitsenbarger.
Surviving are two daughters, Charlotte Skaggs of Reliance and Alda Jo Ryman of Woodstock; two sons, Jack Pitsenbarger of Front Royal and Wayne Pitsenbarger of Ruckersville; two sisters, Jean White of Charleston, W.Va., and Louise Ash of Canvas, W.Va.; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great-granchildren.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with Pastor Raymond Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Reliance Cemetery.

Mary O. Taylor
Mary Orndorff Taylor, 91, of 249 Taylor St., Strasburg, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Taylor was born July 2, 1909, in Strasburg, the daughter of Jacob Edward and Annie Clem Orndorff. She was retired from Aileen Manufacturing Co. in Strasburg.
She was a member of St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church in Woodstock and Strasburg Women of the Moose Lodge 1319.
She was married to Edward Michael Taylor.
Surviving are four daughters, Nina Sherman, Elizabeth “Nookie” Horan, and June Mason, all of Strasburg, and Mary Jane Armentrout of Front Royal; a son, John E. Taylor of Woodstock; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a step grandchild; two step great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in Riverview Cemetery, Strasburg, with Father William Aitcheson officiating.
Pallbearers will be John M. Hall Jr., Gary Sherman, Timothy Taylor, Frank Horan, David Mason, Eddie Mason, and Glenn Mason.

Mrs. Miller was born Dec. 19, 1933, in Shockeysville, the daughter of Isaac Wood and Mary Katherine Mason Luttrell. She was a member of Shockeysville United Methodist Church and the Eagles and Moose clubs. She was an avid bingo player.
She married Harry Elmer Miller Jr. on May 1, 1952, in Winchester.
Surviving with her husband are a son, Harry Elmer Miller III of Winchester; two daughters, Kathy LeVerne Braithwaite and Marita Burrows, both of Capon Bridge, W.Va.; and six grandchildren.
