Tracy E. Stiles
Tracy Enoch Stiles, 45, of Boonsboro, Md., formerly of Clearbrook, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at his home.
He was born July 9, 1955, in Olney, Md., son of Robert Yewell and Hazel Virginia Glover Stiles.
He was an award-winning dairy farmer. He was a 1977 graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute State University, where he was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho agriculture fraternity and the Virginia Tech Dairy Science Club.
He and his wife operated Shenandoah Jerseys dairy farm near Boonsboro. He was formerly a partner with his brothers at Waverly Farm in Clearbrook.
In 1982, he was named Outstanding Young Jersey Dairyman by the American Jersey Cattle Association. In 1997, he was named Master Breeder for that group.
He was the past president of the Virginia Jersey Cattle Club. His herd ranked fourth in milk production among all Jerseys in the nation.
He was a member of Benevola United Methodist Church.
He was married for 20 years to Janet Shank Stiles.
Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Jessica Louise Stiles, at home; a son, Robert Tracy Stiles, at home; a sister, Debra Stiles Callison of Staunton; and three brothers, Kenneth Y. Stiles, Charles M. Stiles, and Paul Stiles, all of Clearbrook.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Benevola United Methodist Church with the Rev. Helen S. Smith officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and at the church one hour prior to the service.

Francis M. Frye, 74, of Charles Town, W.Va., died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, in the College View Center, Frederick, Md.
Mr. Frye was born July 25, 1926, in Jefferson County, W.Va., the son of Marshall Lee and Fannie Berry Jacobs Frye.
He was an appraiser and had owned and operated Ranson Real Estate and Insurance Co.
He was a graduate of Charles Town High School and attended Shepherd College.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Charles Town, the Rusty Hinges Barbershop Quartet, member of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Charles Town, the Charles Town Chapter of the Society for the Preservation & Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America and former president of the Winchester Chapter. He was a member and former president of Charles Town Lions Club and a member of Elks Lodge 684 of Frederick, Md., and the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce. He was a former president and co- founder of the Mt. Heritage Arts & Crafts Festival, a former member and vice-president of Jefferson County Development Authority, and a former member and secretary of Jefferson Memorial Hospital Board of Management.
He was married to Virginia Galli “Hon” Frye for 49 years.
Surviving with his wife, are two sisters, Mary Frye Lehman of Winter Springs, Fla., and Dorcas F. Ramsburg of Charles Town; and a brother, Thomas L. Racey of Seattle.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. James Catholic Church, Charles Town, with Father Brian Owens officiating. Burial will be in Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town.

Grace K. Tolley, 89, of Felton, Pa., formerly of Winchester, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, in Memorial Hospital, York, Pa.
Mrs. Tolley was born May 12, 1911, in Louisa County, the daughter of Henry and Irma Grimes Lucky.
She was married to James Tolley.
Surviving is a brother, Roderick W. Lucky of Felton.
A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday in J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Stewartstown, Pa. , with the Rev. Janet L. Brewer officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens, Baltimore.

Sylvia S. Phillips
Sylvia Sydney Smith Phillips, 67, of Front Royal, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, in Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal.
Mrs. Phillips was born Nov. 12, 1932, in Front Royal, the daughter of Larkin W. and Virginia Johnson Smith. She was retired from Woodward and Lothrop department stores in Northern Virginia.
She was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church of Front Royal and The Originals.
Surviving with her mother, of Front Royal, are a brother, Willard W. Smith of Front Royal; and three sisters, Bernice Easley of Fredericksburg, and Mary S. Spriggs and Mildred S. Richards, both of Front Royal.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home, Front Royal, with the Rev. Lorenzo Hill officiating. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery, Front Royal.

Dorothy Nies Warner, 80, of Tallahassee, Fla., formerly of Winchester, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, in Florida.
Surviving are her husband, John G. Warner; a son, Dr. John Harley Warner of New Haven, Conn.; and two grandchildren.
A private burial was in Culley’s MeadowWood Memorial Park, Tallahassee.

Alson F. Atkins
Alson F. Atkins, 88, of Sperryville, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, at the home of his son in Catharpin.
Mr. Atkins was born July 22, 1912, in Sperryville, the son of Arthur and Ida Atkins. He attended the Fellowship Assembly of God Church and Thornton Gap Baptist Church, both in Sperryville.
He was a trail ride guide and owned and operated the Rainbow Run Riding Stable for more than 20 years.
Surviving are a daughter, Ann Lynn Sisk of Front Royal; two sons, Vernon Alson Atkins of Winchester and Linda Atkins of Catharpin; a brother, Clayton Atkins of Mentor, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal, with the Rev. Kirby Shenk and the Rev. Joel L. Cress officiating. Burial will be in Sperryville Cemetery.

Calib R. Williamson
Calib Ray Williamson, 73, of Stephenson, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Williamson was born March 13, 1927, in Bentonville, the son of Herbert Mitchell and Laura Crisman Williamson. He retired in 1985 from Amerigas Inc. and was co-owner of Virginia Blue Flame. He had been manager of Shengas. He operated a fishing charter service on the Chesapeake Bay from Reedville and was captain of the “Ebb Tide” and the “Miss Lucille” until his retirement in 1998.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He married Lucille Triplett on Dec. 23, 1983, in Front Royal.
Surviving with his wife, are four sons, Linwood Ray Williamson of Stephenson, Glenn Richard Williamson and Robert Theodore Williamson, both of Gore, and Phillip Alan Shaw of Virginia Beach; four daughters, Patsy Ann Williamson and Carol Ann VanMeter, both of Winchester, Donna Marie King of Stephens City, and Linda Louise Stasiak of Stephenson; his former wife, Margaret I. Williamson; a sister, Laura W. Grove of Arlington; two brothers, Hollis M. Williamson and Donald A. Williamson, both of Front Royal; and 13 grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Jack Wampler officiating. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.

H. Reinhart Johnson
H. Reinhart Johnson, 77, of Front Royal, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, in Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal.
Mr. Johnson was born Feb. 5, 1923, in Kabletown, W.Va., the son of Charles Dudley and Anna Faye Kable Johnson. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after more than 30 years and had worked at the Front Royal Post Office.
He was in the Coast Guard during World War II.
He was a graduate of Charles Town High School and attended Hampden-Sydney College.
He was a member of Marlow Heights Baptist Church, Giles B. Cook Post 53 of the American Legion, the Front Royal Country Club, and the Front Royal Lions Club.
He was married to Louise Sowers. His first wife was Mary Margaret Johnson.
Surviving with his wife, are two daughters, Jacqueline J. DeCristofaro of Front Royal and Cheri Moran of Staunton; a stepdaughter, Rae B. Wines of Front Royal; a stepson, Gary Bunch of Front Royal; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Marlow Heights Baptist Church, Front Royal, with the Rev. Jim Bunce and the Rev. Randy Orndorff officiating.

Mildred Catherine Bowman Walker, 94, of Susan B. Miller Nursing Home, Woodstock, formerly of Strasburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at the nursing home.
Mrs. Walker was born Dec. 1, 1905, in Clary, Shenandoah County, the daughter of Charles M. and Matilda Pearl Stickley Racey. She was a member of Oak Hill Church of the Brethren, Fort Valley, and the church choir.
She was married to Ernest Walker. Her first husband was Lawrence Bowman.
Surviving are a daughter, Nancy M. Armstrong of Winchester; three sisters, Ruth P. Kline and Martha G. Griffey, both of Strasburg, and Lois M. Stinson of Woodstock; and a grandchild.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Oak Hill Church of the Brethren, Fort Valley, with the Rev. Kenneth Graff officiating. Burial will be in McInturff Cemetery, Fort Valley.

Raymond C. Lee
Raymond Charles Lee, 81, of Winchester, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, in a local nursing home.
Mr. Lee was born March 4, 1919, in Frederick County, the son of Charles William and Mary Elizabeth Carper Lee. He retired in 1984 as a machinist for Abex Corp.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Rest United Methodist Church.
He married Lois Catherine Cornwell on May 20, 1950, in Winchester.
Surviving are a son, Steven Allen Lee of Winchester; two daughters, Connie Lee Clem of Winchester and Sharon Lee Emerson of Hesperia, Calif.; four sisters, Mabel Barrett and Corine Funk, both of Front Royal,Myrtle Helsey of Romney, W.Va., and Bertha Conard of Winchester; a brother, Carl Lee of Stephenson; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Rest Church Cemetery, Frederick County, with the Rev. James Jones officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Lindsay L. Roberts
Lindsay Lee “Hard” Roberts, 53, of Front Royal, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2000, in Avante of Waynesboro Nursing Center.
Mr. Roberts was born July 19, 1947, in Fauquier County, the son of William A. and Helen Bernice Cook Roberts. He was self-employed as a landscaper and brick mason.
He married Caroline Roberts April 29, 1970.
Surviving with his wife are his mother, Helen Lee of Front Royal; three sons, Carl L. Roberts and Gregory M. Roberts, both of Front Royal, and Lindsay L. Roberts Jr. of Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter, Melinda R. Glover of Front Royal; a brother, Jackie Roberts of Markham; eight sisters, Helen Cason Roberts, Betty Roberts, Doris Roberts, Catherine Jackson, Marvel Jackson, and Joan Lane, all of Front Royal, Joyce Roberts of Fairfax, and Darlene Roberts of Maryland; and eight grandchildren.
A funeral will be at noon Saturday at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home, Front Royal, with the Rev. Lindsay Green and the Rev. Butch Brown officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Morris Community Cemetery.

Harold E. Timbrook
Harold Eugene “Timmy” Timbrook, 65, of 621 W. Country Club Dr., Purcellville, formerly of Kirby, W.Va., died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, in Loudoun Health Center, Leesburg.
Mr. Timbrook was born Aug. 8, 1935, in Kirby, the son of Marvin and Clara Pownall Timbrook. He owned and operated Harold's’ Used Cars in Hamilton and retired in 1997.
He was an Army veteran and a member of the Romney, W.Va. Reserve Unit and the Modern Woodmen of America, Camp 13679, Delray, W.Va.
He graduated from Romney High School in 1953.
He married Sandra Lee Loy Sept. 7, 1969, in Rio, W.Va.
Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Cassandra Timbrook of Purcellville; two sisters, Eileen Hott of Kirby and Ruth Saville of Crystal River, Fla.; and a brother, Harry Timbrook of Chambersburg, Pa.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Augusta, W.Va., with Pastor Robert Jeffreys officiating. Burial will be in Rio Cemetery, with military rites by the veterans of Hampshire County, W.Va.

Beatrice H. Shanholtz
Beatrice Hawkins Shanholtz, 91, of P.O. Box 26, Capon Bridge, W.Va., died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, in Hampshire Health Care Center, Romney, W.Va.
Mrs. Shanholtz was born March 5, 1909, in Hampshire County, W.Va., the daughter of George and Annie Patterson Hawkins. She was a member of Sandy Ridge Christian Church.
She married Paul B. Shanholtz on Feb. 26, 1929, in Cumberland, Md. Mr. Shanholtz died Nov. 11, 1986.
Surviving are a son, Robert D. Shanholtz of Fairmont, W.Va.; two daughters, Betty Swisher and Luanna Hott, both of Capon Bridge; 11 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Giffin Funeral Home, Capon Bridge, with the Rev. Herman Goede and Ray McBride officiating. Burial will be in Sandy Ridge Cemetery near Capon Bridge.

Beatrice A. Gromling Altland, 88, of Winchester, formerly of York County, Pa., died Oct. 27, 2000, at the home of her daughter-in-law, Wilma Altland, with whom she lived.
Mrs. Altland was born April 10, 1912, in York, Pa., the daughter of Elwood and Ruth Mabel Leland Gromling. She was a member of Starview United Methodist Church, East Manchester Township, Pa.
She was married to John Calvin Altland.
Surviving are two grandchildren and a great-grandson.
A son, Larry Lee Altland, is deceased.
A funeral was Tuesday in Starview United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Fueller officiating. Burial was in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York.

William Eugene Rogers Jr., 87, of Winchester, formerly of Bunker Hill, W.Va., died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Rogers was born June 24, 1913, in Bunker Hill, the son of William Ellsworth Rogers and Anna Relaford. He was a member of Assembly of God Church in Winchester.
Surviving are his companion, Margaret Shickel; a son, David E. Rogers of West Melbourne, Fla.; a daughter, Sharyn Prestey of Alliance, Ohio; two sisters, Ruby Rogers of Bunker Hill and Peggy Swope of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; a brother, Jim Rogers of Bunker Hill; and four grandchildren.
Inurnment will be at noon Friday in Orrick Cemetery, Winchester, with the Pastor Gilbert M. Mack Jr. officiating.
