Ruby Harville
DANVILLE, Va. - Ruby N. Harville, 77, formerly of 220 Mount Olivet Lane, died Wednesday, March 10, 1999, at Danville Regional Medical Center after several years of declining health.
Born April 10, 1921, in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of Charlie Norton and Ida Mills Norton.
She was married
Sept. 14, 1940, to William Robert Harville, who predeceased her March 4, 1987.
Mrs. Harville lived most of her life in the Danville and Pittsylvania County area where prior to her retirement she was employed with Dan River Inc. as a weaver.
Mrs. Harville was a member of Third Avenue Congregational Christian Church, and was a member of the Widow's Club of the church, and a member of the Women's Missionary Circle No. 4, the Chapel Bible Class and the Dan River Retirement Organization.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda H. Yeatts, Betty H. Boswell and Colene H. Bryant, all of Danville; three son-in-laws, Carl T. Yeatts, Archie C. Boswell Jr. and Joel L. Bryant, all of Danville; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Harville was predeceased by two brothers and one sister.
A funeral will be held 2 p.m. today at Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with the Rev. Frederick J. Vicks officiating. Interment
will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the residence of Mrs. Harville's daughter Colene Bryant, 248 Mount Olivet Lane.
Walter Keem
DANVILLE, Va. - Walter George Keem Jr., 68, 525 Pinecrest Drive, died Friday, March 12, 1999, at Danville Regional Medical Center, after being in declining health since January.
Born December 15, 1930, in Holland, N.Y., he was the son of Walter George Keem Sr. and Myrtle Stanley Keem.
He was married
to Ruth Shaw Keem, of Danville, who survives.
He spent most of his life in Ellington, N.Y., before moving to Danville four years ago.
He was a farmer prior to moving to Danville. He was a member of Christian Heritage Church and of the Buffalo, N.Y. Police Auxillary. He was also associated with the Ellington Meals on Wheels.
In addition to his wife, survivors include three daughters, Denise K. Caldwell and Emily K. Van Horden, both of Danville and Karen K. Wagner of Ellington; a son, David Keem of Sinclairville, N.Y.; a half-brother, Augie Keem of East Aurora, N.Y., a half-sister, Faye K. Ciesinski of Cowlesville, N.Y., seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by two sons, Dale Keem and Walter Keem and a brother, John Keem.
A funeral will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Christian Heritage Church, with the Rev. Rick Withrow and Rev. Edward Durbin officiating.
Burial will follow in Highland Burial Park.
The family will be at the residence.

Garnell Taylor
GRETNA, Va. - Garnell Franklin Taylor, 56, 15012 E. Gretna Road, Gretna, died Friday, March 12, 1999, in his residence.
Born April 10, 1942 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of Charles F. Taylor of Nathalie, and Virgie Bowen Taylor.
He was married
to Rosa King Taylor, who survives.
He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church. He was also the retired owner of Taylor's Garage and a member of Crews Racing Team of Long Island.
In addition to his father and wife, he is survived by one son, Rodney Wayne Taylor of Gretna; one daughter, Frankie Taylor Worley of Gretna; one step-son, Randy Wayne King of Gretna; two brothers, Marvin Lynwood Taylor of Danville and Ricky Bowen Taylor of Gretna; two sisters, Judy T. Simpson and Bonita McDaniel, both of Gretna; a stepmother, Joyce Taylor of Nathalie; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 1999 at Zion United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stephen Byrd and Ramsey Taylor officiating. Burial will follow the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. today at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home, and at other times at the residence.
Hilda White
BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Hilda White, 81, died Saturday, Mar. 6, 1999 at the Brooklyn Hospital.
She was born in Halifax County, Va., on Mar. 27, 1917.
She is survived by her husband, James White, of Brooklyn; one daughter, Earl Hodges of Brooklyn; three sisters, Liz Sweeney of Oxen Hill, Md., Kate Lewllyn of Halifax, Va., and Annie Sweeney of Brooklyn; one brother, James Lord of Brooklyn; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. today at County Line Baptist Church in Vernon Hill, Va., with the Rev. Otis Dillard officiating.
Interment will take place in the White Family cemetery in Nathalie, Va.
There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends at the residence of Nettie Dunn, 8065 Chatham Road, Nathalie.

James Church
SOUTH BOSTON, Va. - James Sanford Church, 69, of 300 Powell Road, died Friday, March 12, 1999, at his home.
He was born in Halifax County, on Feb. 19, 1930. He was the son of Fletcher James Sanford Church and Bessie Mae Coates Church.
He is survived by two brothers, Frank Benjamin Church and Douglas Church, both of Halifax.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Saunders officiating. Burial will be in Halifax Memorial Gardens.
The family will be at 1077 East Oak Hill Drive, Halifax, and 1009 Patterson Lane, Halifax.
Floyd Conley
DANVILLE, Va. - Floyd Conley, 86, 1397 Milton Highway, died Friday, March 12, 1999, at his home, of natural causes.
Born May 12, 1912 in Pittsylvania County, he was a trustee of Apostolic Faith Temple and was retired from Dan River Mills.
He was married
on Nov. 12, 1964, to Ruby Conley, who survives.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Thomas Conley of Maryland, and one daughter, Dorothy Williams of New York.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, March 15, at Apostolic Faith Temple, with Bishop W.A. Watkins officiating. Burial at Danville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the home, 1397 Milton Highway.

Raleigh Cox
CHATHAM, Va. - Raleigh Carlton Cox, 86, of 248 Sweden Fork Creek Lane, died early Saturday morning, March 13, 1999, at Danville Regional Medical Center after declining in health for a number of years.
Born in Pittsylvania County on Nov. 1, 1912, he was a son of Albert Henry Cox and Anna Jackson Cox.
He was married
to Lettie Corbin Blair Cox, who survives.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.
He spent most of his life in the Spring Garden community of Pittsylvania County where he was a retired farmer and a member of Spring Garden Presbyterian Church.
Survivors in addition to his wife of the residence include one son, Raleigh Cox Jr. of Arlington; one daughter, Susan Cox Foust of Pinnacle, N.C.; one step-son, John Blair of Blairs; one sister, Cordie Bass of Durham, N.C.; and two grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Highland Burial Park with the Rev. Robert J. Barber Jr. officiating.
The family will be at the residence in the Spring Garden community.

Louise Dalton
DANIVLLE, Va. - Louise Gregory Dalton, 73, of 236 Parkview Place, died Thursday, Mar. 11, 1999, at the Danville Regional Medical Center after declining health for the past six years.
Born Dec. 1, 1925, she was a native of Pittsylvania County. She was the daughter of Frank Burton Gregory and Nannie Scruggs Gregory.
She was married
to Douglas M. Dalton, who survives.
Most of her life was spent in Danville where she retired as a registered nurse. She was a graduate of Danville Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.
She was also the former executive director of the Danville Chapter of the March of Dimes. She was a member of the North Main Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband of the residence, survivors include one son, Alvin C. Long of Danville; one daughter, Douglas Ann Dalton Kowitz of Danville; three sisters, Margaret Allen, Frances Allen, and Juanita Patterson, all of Danville; and one granddaughter.
She was predeceased by one brother, Thomas Gregory.
A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. today in the Swicegood Chapel with the Rev. Robert J. Barber Jr. officiating. A private interment service will be held in Danville Memorial Gardens at a later date.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
