Scott Hubbard
CHATHAM, Va. - Roland Scott Hubbard, 26, of 25 Woodlawn Heights, died Wednesday, June 2, 1999, at his residence.
Born Nov. 8, 1972, in Pittsylvania County, he was the son of the late Roland Hubbard and Kittie Walker Hubbard, who survives.
He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his mother of Callands, survivors include three sisters, Teresa H. Crane of Pompano Beach, Fla., Lori H. Adams of Danville and Traci Hubbard of Chatham.
He was predeceased by one sister, Lisa Hubbard.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Scott Funeral Home Chapel with Frank Fuller, minister officiating. Interment
will be in Hillcrest Burial Park, Chatham.
The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. today at Scott Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.
Roland Hutson
DANVILLE, Va. - Roland Lee Hutson, age 64, died Monday, May 31, 1999, at Duke University after five years of declining health.
Born Mar. 6, 1935, he was retired from Joe Land Trucking Co. in Lexington, N.C.
He is survived by one son, Timothy Hudson of Danville; one sister, Eva Triplette of Danville; and three grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Rebecca Neaves Hutson.
Services will be held 6 p.m. today at the home of his son, 1601 Franklin Turnpike.
The family will receive friends at that residence as well.

Lelia McGregor
HALIFAX, Va. - Lelia Tanksley McGregor, 80, of 5084 Mountain Road, died Monday, May 31, 1999, at Halifax Regional Hospital.
Born Aug. 28, 1918, in Pittsylvania County, Va., she was the daughter of William Tanksley and Lelia Kates Tanksley.
She was married
to Allie Wilson McGregor, who survives.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband of Halifax, survivors include six daughters Violet Pleasant of South Boston, Betty Womack of Halifax, Ruth Lloyd of King, N.C., Lois Owens and Sandra Bibee both of Ringgold, and Eunice King of Lynch Station; two sons, Wallace Dean McGregor and Harry Wilson McGregor, both of South Boston; one sister, Annie Barksdale of Bolling Green; two half-sisters Mary Flowers and Louise Simpson, both of Danville; one half-brother, Walter Tanksley of Danville; 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rudolph Jacobs officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Episcopal Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
Harvey Riddle
JAVA, Va. - Harvey Thornton Riddle, 81, of 3792 Java Road, died Wednesday, June 2, 1999, at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born Aug. 3, 1917, in Pittsylvania County, he was the son of Walter Riddle and Pearl Terry Riddle.
He was married
to Mary Worley Riddle, who survives.
He was a member of Providence Methodist Church.
He farmed in his early life and later worked for Dan River Inc. for 18 years and was a letter carrier for the past 7 1/2 years.
In addition to his wife of the residence, survivors include three daughters Pattie R. Davis of Nathalie, Nancy Elaine Riddle Moore of Blairs, and Susan Riddle of Danville, ; one son, Danny H. Riddle of Gretna; one sister, Violet R. Smith of Danville; three brothers, Lonnie Riddle and Joseph Linwood Riddle, both of Danville and Walter M. Riddle of Burkeville; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Scott Funeral Home with the Rev. J.D. Hunt III officiating. Interment
will be in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home and at other times at the residence.
Clarence Wade
AXTON, Va. - Clarence Ophus Wade, 74, of 7455 Axton Road, died Monday, May 31, 1999.
He was a native of Henry County.
He was married
to Annie Mae Wade, who survives.
He was a member of Gospel Light United Holiness Church and a retired employee of Fieldcrest Mills.
In addition to his wife of the residence, survivors include one son Ophus Dillard of Axton; one sister Annie Mae Irvin of Winston Salem, N.C.; two step-sisters Adele Boyd and Olivia Strange, both of Axton, Va.; two step-brothers George Little of Danville, Va and Claude Little of Axton.
A funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Gospel Light Holiness Church, Axton. Burial will be at St. John Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 2:30-3:00 p.m. Friday at the church.

Fabian Wimbush
DANVILLE, Va. - Fabian Demarcus Wimbush, 24, of 600 North Point Lane, Apt. 303, died Monday, May 31, 1999, at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born April 11, 1975, in Danville, Va., he was the son of Kenny Johnson and Emogene Wimbush James, who survive.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his step-father Herbert James of Danville; one daughter Tiana Cunningham of Richmond; his maternal grandmother, Martha Goode Wimbush of Danville; and his paternal grandmother Norman Johnson of Danville.
A funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at the chapel of Fisher and Watkins Funeral Home with the Bishop William Waddell officiating. Interment
will be Highland Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at the residence, 600 North Point Lane, Apt. 303.
Mary Belknap
FAIRFAX, Va. - Mary Thompson Belknap, 85, of Falls Church died Monday, May 31, 1999 in Fairfax Hospital.
Born August 28, 1913, in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of James Andrew Thompson Sr. and Mary Alice Reynolds Thompson.
She was a former public school teacher and was a member of Boulevard Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, James Allen Belknap of Washington, D.C. and Edward R. Belknap of Fairfax; two daughters, Sharon B. Brown of Leonardtown, Md. and Marilyn B. Karns of Hayward, WI.; one brother, James A. Thompson Jr. of Gretna; two sisters, Louise T. Adams of Java and Alice T. Schilling of Calabash, N.C.; and eight grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 10 a.m. Saturday at the Colbert-Moran Funeral Home. Following visitation, graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. in the Reynolds Family cemetery with the Rev. W.D. Lily officiating.
John Burcham
DANVILLE, Va. - John Cleveland Burcham, 68, of 311 Summit Road, died Thursday, June 3, 1999, at Danville Regional Medical Center after 22 years of declining health.
Born July 3, 1930, in Eden, N.C., he was the son of James C. Burcham and Hattie Fulton Burcham.
He was married
to Louise Taylor Burcham, who survives.
He lived most of his life in Danville where he was employed by Dan River Inc., and his last employment was with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. where he retired on disability.
He was a high school graduate and a graduate of Southeastern Massachusetts University where he received a B.S. Degree. He was a member of the Destiny in Christ Ministries.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion Post No. 325.
In addition to his wife of the residence, survivors include one daughter, Karen B. McKenzie of Mason, Ohio; one son, John C. Burcham of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; one sister, Pauline Burcham of Eden, N.C.; two brothers, Max Burcham of Redsprings, N.C. and Gene Burcham of Wisconsin; and two grandchildren.
A funeral will be held 4 p.m. Saturday at Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with the Rev. Rick Tate and Winston Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
Noland Campbell Jr.
LONG BEACH, Calif. - Noland Bervard "Dupy" Campbell Jr., 65, died Monday, May 31, 1999, at Long Beach Veterans Hospital, Long Beach, after a lengthy illness.
Born June 14, 1934, in Danville, Va., he was the son of Noland B. Campbell and Ila Tanksley Campbell.
He was married
to Margie Logan Campbell who predeceased him. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the Vietnam War. He was a former member of the Baptist Tabernacle of Danville, and later a member of Long Beach Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Te Jae Campbell Wehurt of Okinawa, Japan; two sisters, Virl C. Guill of Ringgold, Va. and Judy C. Grubbs of Danville; and two grandchildren.
He was predeceased by one sister, Katherine C. Smith.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Roman Eagle Nursing Home Chapel with the Rev. Carson Dalton officiating.
A funeral service and burial was held in California on June 3.
Bennie Davis
SOUTH BOSTON, Va. - Bennie Richard Davis, 87, died Sunday, May 30, 1999, at Woodview Nursing Home in South Boston.
He was born Dec. 15, 1911, in Halifax County.
Survivors include three daughters, Joyce Johnson and Regenia Hughes, both of Chicago, Ill. and Virginia Marable of Halifax; two sons, Richard Davis of South Boston and John Davis of Halifax; two sisters, Rosa Goode of Suitland, Md. and Patsy Brown of Evanston, Ill.; two brothers, George Davis and Samuel Davis of Evanston, Ill.; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren
A funeral will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at New Vernon Baptist Church in Vernon Hill, with the Rev. Roger Ford officiating. Burial will be in church cemetery.
A viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.
The family will receive friends at the residence, 1010 Heights Trail, Halifax.
