NORTH PORT, Fla. - Iris Marie Loftis Lemmon, 68, of 4532 Tollefson Ave., died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at Venice Hospital, Venice.
Born Feb. 23, 1931, in Danville, Va., she was the daughter of the late Otis Loftis and Rosa Loftis.
She married
Robert C. Lemmon, who survives.
She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her husband of the residence, survivors include one son, Charles Neal Baumann of St. Petersburg; two sisters, Frances Burns and Betty Jean Higgs, both of Reidsville, N.C.; three brothers, Willie Loftis of Rockingham, N.C., Joe Loftis of Danville, Va., and Glenn Loftis of Reidsville, N.C.; and one grandchild.
She was predeceased by a son, Jimmy Baumann.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment
will be at the Sandy Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Robinson officiating.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Swicegood Funeral Home.
Jim Neaves
WOODLAWN, Va. - Jim Neaves, 53, died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, at Medical College of Virginia.
Born Aug. 17, 1946, in Jefferson County, N.C., he was the son of Arthur Carl Neaves and Lucille Anders Neaves, both survive.
He was the stepson of Edna Neaves. He married
Barbie Neaves, who survive.
In addition to his mother, father and step-mother of Danville, and wife of Woodlawn, survivors include one daughter, Brandi Neaves of the residence; and one son, Justin Neaves of the residence.
A funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Great Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Camet Spivey officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Vaughn Guynn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Clarence Poythress Sr.
DANVILLE, Va. - Clarence Samuel Poythress Sr., 43, of 632 Oakland Drive, was dead on arrival Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at Halifax Regional Hospital, after an automobile accident on 58 East near South Boston.
Born Aug. 8, 1956, in South Boston, he was the son of William Kinborght, who survives, and the late Annie Virginia Poythress.
He married
Linda Riley Poythress, who also survives.
He made his home in the Danville area for 10 years and attended Full Gospel Fellowship Church. He worked for Cron Construction for one year. At the time of his death, he was working with A.S. Pugh Roofing Co., where he worked for the three months.
In addition to his father of South Boston and wife of the residence, survivors include four sons, Samuel Edward Poythress of the residence, Charles Edward Poythress of Danville, James Paul Poythress of Winchester and Clarence Samuel Poythress Sr. of Goochland.
Memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday at the residence, 632 Oakland Drive. The Rev. Fletcher Hardy will officiate.

Ethel Wilson
DANVILLE, Va. - Ethel Wigington Wilson, 92, died at 9:35 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1999, at Danville Regional Medical Center afterone year of declining health.
Born June 10, 1907, in Patrick County, she was the daughter of William J. Wigington and Minnie Gilbert Wigington. She married
Dock Thomas Wilson who predeceased her July 1975. She spent most of her life in Danville and was a homemaker. She was a member of Stokesland United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Elaine Main of Danville and Margarette Lindsey of Richmond; one brother, Leo Wigington of Nitro, W.Va.; two sisters, Pearl Martin of Stanleytown, and Ruby Rich of Pensacola, Fla.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one son, Everett Wilson.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Danville Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Greg West officiating.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30p.m. Wednesday at Swicegood Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.
Virginia F. Wilson
DANVILLE, Va. - Virginia F. Wilson, 90, formerly of Pine Street and Paxton Street, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at Manor Care in Richmond.
Born Feb. 7, 1909, in Danville, she was the daughter of Fred W. Farley and Ella Shelton Davis Farley. Survivors include three daughters, Anne Bonne, Ella "Petey" Terrill and Louise McAlister; four sons, Clarence H. Wilson Jr., Fred F. Wilson, W. Glen Wilson and Robert Andrew Wilson; 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Townes Memorial Chapel with the Rev. George Neas officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View cemetery.
Jonathan Chavious
DANVILLE, Va. - Jonathan Lukenzie Chavious, 19, of 107 Pleasantview Apts. died at his residence.
Born Dec. 30, 1979, in Halifax County, he was the son of John Thorpe and Patricia Chavious Bradsher, both survive. He was the stepson of Juanita Thorpe, who also survives.
He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother of Danville, father and step-mother of Alton, survivors include two daughters, Sha'Quariana Lukenzie Chavious and Tyasis Lynette Chavious, both of Danville; one sister, Monica Thorpe of Alton; four brothers, Dontae Bradsher, Deshawn Saunders and Raekwon Saunders, all of Danville, and Antwon Thorpe of Alton; maternal grandmother, Minnie Pearl Chavious of Danville; paternal grandparents, John Thorpe Sr. and Mary Thorpe of Alton; paternal great-grandmother, Pattie Medley of Alton.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Jeffress Funeral Home with Pastor Brenda Smith officiating.
The family will receive friends at the residence of his father and step-mother, 2095 Traynham Grove Road, Alton, and maternal grandmother, 158 Lynndale Drive, Danville.

Lillian Flora
DANVILLE, Va. - Lillian Osborne Flora, 77, of 637 Glendale Ave., died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999, at Duke Medical Center, Durham, N.C.
Born Aug. 14, 1922, in Lunenburg County, she was the daughter of Frank Alan Osborne and Bessie Crenshaw Osborne.
She married
James W. Flora, who died Dec. 21, 1983.
She lived her entire life in Danville and was a member of the Grace Design United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Kaufman-Bryden Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Pocahontas.
Survivors include one son, John Alan Flora of Danville; one daughter, Deborah Flora Phillips of Linwood, N.C.; one sister, Nan Broome of Danville; three grandchildren; one step-grandchild and one step-great-grandchild.
A funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel with the Rev. Scott Holcomb-McLain officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View cemetery.

Lillian Strader Kellam
DANVILLE, Va. - Lillian S. Kellam, 89, formerly of Holiday Village, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at Health South Hospital in Richmond.
Born June 19, 1910, in Schoolfield, she was a daughter of Charles Thomas and Lillie Bell Walker Strader.
She married
Walter Tilden Merritt, who predeceased her in 1944, and later married
Thomas Kellam on June 12, 1976, who predeceased her in 1991.
She was of the Baptist faith and was active in various church communities until her decline in health. She enjoyed taking care of her friends and family.
Survivors include two daughters, Grace Evelyn Scott of Danville and Betty Merritt Gilliam of Richmond; one son, Tom Merritt of Hurley, N.Y.; one sister, Hazel Perkins of Danville; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one son, Willie Eugene Merritt.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at Holiday Village, Courtland Street.
A private inurnment will be at Mount View cemetery.
Haywood Nibblett
CHATHAM, Va. - Haywood Nibblett, 49, of 109 Brown Road, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1999, at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 5, 1950, in Pittsylvania County, he was the son of Millard Niblett Jr. and Elizabeth Carter Nibblett.
He worked with Heath Saw Mill and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Monica Smith of Chatham; four brothers, Walter Nibblett, Wade Nibblett, Richard Nibblett and Ricky Nibblett, all of Chatham; five sisters, Debra Nibblett, Mary Wimbush, Barbara Daye, Edith Wimbush and Bertha Nibblett, all of Chatham; and three grandchildren.
A funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Damon Hairston officiating. Burial will be in church cemetery.

Edmond Radford Pickeral
GRETNA, Va - Edmond Radford Pickeral, age 77, of 968 Blue Ridge Drive, Gretna, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1999, in the Veterans Hospital, Salem.
Born March 20, 1922, in Pittsylvania County, he was the son of the late Wiley Mack Pickeral and Lula Radford Pickeral.
He was married
to the late Louise Rowland Pickeral.
He was also predeceased by a son, Rondald Edmond Pickeral Sr. Mr. Pickeral was a retired mechanic, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Gretna. He was an Army veteran of WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 232 and a member of DAV.
He is survived by two daughters, Hilda Brumfield of Gretna, Linda Robertson of Danville; two sisters, Hazel Pickrel and Ruth Shelton, both of Danville; six grandchildren, Carmen Praizner of Norman, Oklahoma, Stephanie Adams, Brian Brumfield & C.R. Brumfield, all of Gretna, Regina Meadows of Chatham and Rondald "Eddie" Pickeral Jr. of Hurt; three great-grandchildren, Joshua Praizner, Audrie Meadows and Lance Meadows.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church, Gretna, by the Rev. Glenn Graves, the Rev. W.D. Lilly, Rev. Lee Ellison and Rev. Steve Carlton. Interment
will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7-8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and the day of the funeral at the residence of Stephanie and Michael Adams, 3528 Telegraph Road, Gretna.

EDEN, N.C - Bobby James "Red" Walker, 36, of 157 Piedmont St., died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999, at Morehead Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 8. 1962, in Pittsylvania County, Va., he was the son of Millard E. Walker and Shirley Walker Jones, who both survive.
In addition to his parents, survivors include one daughter, Crystal Walker of Caswell County; one son, James Walker of Caswell County; one brother, Tommy Walker of Ruffin; one sister Jo Ann W. Alverson of Eden; one half-brother, Jeffrey Jones of Eden; and one grandchild.
A funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Community Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.D. Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Odell Family cemetery, Eden, N.C.

H. Richard Yeatts Sr.
DANVILLE, Va. - H. Richard Yeatts Sr., 75, formerly of 122 Allison Drive, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999, at Dale County Medical Center in Ozark, Al.
Born Aug. 30, 1924, in Keeling, he was the son of Josiah Henry Yeatts and Gracie Bailey Yeatts.
He married
Frances Motley Yeatts who died Jan. 2, 1988.
He was a 21-year veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II and the Vietnam War. He lived most of his life in the Danville area. He was an assistant service manager at Barkhouser Motors prior to retirement.
He was a member of Druid Hills Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Henry R. Yeatts Jr. and Phillip Wayne Yeatts, both of Ozark, Ala., and Robert Neal Yeatts of Richmond.
He was predeceased by one brother, James William Yeatts.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Danville Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bill Underwood officiating.
