David Finch
FORT WORTH, Texas - David Anthony Finch, 18, died May 21, 2000, at HEB Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born July 7, 1981 in August, Ga., he was the son of W. Roy Finch and Mary E. Powell.
He was a 1998 graduate of Fossil Ridge High School and an employee of Conway Southern Express.
He was a talented musician, playing the drums, guitar, bass, and saxophone.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, O.B. and Nyla Donaldson; his paternal grandmother, Merry Ann Finch; four step-grandparents, Luther and Charlotte Powell, and Gail and Betty McDonald; one brother, Luke Powell; and two sisters, Erin Finch and Madeline Powell.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from North Fort Worth Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Casey officiating, and at 2 p.m. Friday from Moore's Funeral Chapel in Georgia. Interment
will follow in Westview cemetery in Milledgeville, Ga.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Shannon Rufe Snow Drive Funeral Chapel, Fort Worth, Texas.
Alice Hall
HALIFAX, Va. - Alice Kevorkian Hall, 72, of 2001 Cowford Road, died May 21, 2000, at Duke University Medical Center.
Born Jan. 14, 1928 in Cambridge, Mass., she was the daughter of Michael and Natasha Kevorkian.
She was married
to Julian Palmer Hall, who survives. She was a member of St. Paschal's Catholic Church, the Halifax Woman's Club and the Halifax Garden Club.
In addition to her husband of Halifax, she is survived by two daughters, Christine Hall-Sizemore of Richmond, Va. and Elizabeth "Lisa" Hall of Nags Head, N.C.; one brother, Michael Kevorkian of Paris; and one granddaughter.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from St. Paschal's Catholic Church, with Father Mathias Newell and Father Jim Fosnot officiating. Interment
will follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday at Powell Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.
Mickey Moorefield
DANVILLE, Va. - Mickey Ferrell Moorefield, 88, of 224 Chatham Court, died Sunday, May 21, 2000, at Roman Eagle Memorial Home after two years of declining health and an 18-day stay in Roman Eagle.
Born July 3, 1911, in Danville, she was the daughter of Henry O. Ferrell Sr. and Effa Collie Ferrell.
On June 15, 1940, she was married
to Allen Wister Moorefield, who predeceased her Oct. 4, 1948. She lived her entire life in Danville where she was employed with J&J Kauffman Mens Store and Browns Jewelers until her retirement in 1978. She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, The Echo Club and the Thalhimer's Alpha Club.
Survivors include one brother, Henry O. Ferrell Jr. of Danville and two sisters, Alma F. Mahan of Danville and Edith F. Herchik of Richmond.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Edwin B. Ferrell and Willard C. Ferrell.
A graveside funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Highland Burial Park with the Rev. Ron Mateer officiating.
The family will receive friends at the residence and at 132 Chatham Court.

Irene Dalton Myers
GRETNA, Va. - Irene Dalton Myers, age 75, of 348 Brights Road, Gretna died Sunday, May 21, 2000 in Duke Medical Center.
Born December 31, 1924 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Anderson Dalton and Mary Elizabeth Yeatts Dalton. She was married
to the late Ira Myers. Mrs. Myers was predeceased by a brother and four sisters, Carroll Thomas Dalton, Gertrude Myers, Gillie Mae Dalton, Gillie Ida Dalton and Frances Marsh. She was a member of Weatherford Primitive Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She is survived by a daughter, Gracie Adams of Gretna; a foster daughter, Frances Johnson of Bedford; three sisters, Reba Myers of Gretna, Annie Vivian Dalton of Gretna and Pearl McCracken of Lynchburg; a granddaughter, Ellen Brooks of Gretna, a foster grandson, David Johnson of Darlington, S.C.; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Brooks and Danielle Brooks; a dear friend, Paul M. Dalton of Gretna.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2000, at Weatherford Primitive Baptist Church by Elder Raymond Goad, Elder Marvin Brumfield and Elder Leonard Brammer. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the residence of her daughter, Gracie Adams, 100 Chaney Lane, Gretna.

Connie Turner
CHATHAM, Va. - Connie Lou Campbell Turner, 58, of 140 County Road, died May 22, 2000, at Danville Regional Medical Center, after several years of declining health.
Born Feb. 16, 1942 in Emporia, Va., she was the daughter of the late Ralph Campbell and Edna Witt Campbell Bray, who survives.
On July 29, 1957, she was married
to John Henry Turner, who survives. She lived in Pittsylvania County most of her life where she was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her husband and mother of Danville, she is survived by two sons, John Wayne Turner of Chatham and Jason Scott Turner of Danville; six daughters, Edna Lee Turner and Debbie Jo Collins, both of Callands, Teresa Lynn Fisher, Rhonda Robertson and Christy Lynette Marlow, all of Danville, and Kimberly Dawn Turner of Chatham; three brothers, Ralph S. Campbell of Martinsville, Lonnie Campbell of Dry Fork and Harold V. Campbell of Danville; and four grandchildren.
In addition to her father, she was predeceased by two brothers, James Otis Campbell and Fred Russell Campbell.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from Swicegood Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Ewing officiating. Interment
will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens.

Dexter Hall
RIDGEWAY, Va. - Dexter Hall, 81, of 134 Glen Court, died Monday, May 22, 2000, at his residence.
Born Nov. 30, 1918 in Dotson, he was the son of Landon Hall and Thenia Hopkins Hall.
He was married
to Ethel Irene Chaney Hall, who predeceased him on Nov. 6, 1999. He was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church and a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II. He was the retired owner of Mason Heights Exxon.
Survivors include two sons, David D. Hall of Danville and Danny E. Hall of Tampa, Fla.; five sisters, Christa Witt of Buchanan, Roxie Sink of Rocky Mount, Edna Crunkleton of Bedford, Virgie Breedan of Arlington and Kathleen Daugharty of Maryland; one brother, Noel Hall of Danville; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday from Collins Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Roger Stanley officiating. Interment
will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.

Robert Richard Motley
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Robert Richard Motley, 69, of Virginia Beach, died May 21, 2000.
Born in Johnson City, Tenn., he was the son of the late George D. Motley and Daisy Vance Motley.
He was married
to Mary Wells Motley. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of Vietnam, serving 21 years before his retirement. He then worked at M.W.R. Little Creek Bowling. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Danville.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, C. Leigh Glover and her husband Bill of Winfall, N.C. and Mary E. Walker and her husband Jim of Va. Beach; two sisters, Rena Savage of Ringgold, Va., and Ruth New of Danville, Va.; one brother, Doras Motley of Danville, Va.; and six grandchildren, Ian Courtney, and Seth Walker both of Va. Beach; Sepheni Courtney, Susan Courtney, Ryan Courtney and Lindsey Glover all of Winfall, N.C.
A graveside service will be held on Friday May 26, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. Interment
will follow in Mountain View cemetery in Danville, Virginia.

Margaret Owen
RICHMOND, Va. - Margaret Lynne Owen, 55, of 12411 Gayton Road, died May 22, 2000, at Ginter Hall West in Richmond.
She was the daughter of William Leonard Owen and Margaret Louise Carter Owen.
She was a member of Arbor Baptist Church.
She is survived by one sister, Kay Owen Pugh of Winston-Salem, N.C.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. from Powell Funeral Home with the Rev. Averette Witcher officiating. Interment
will follow in Oak Ridge cemetery.

Roger Sutherlin
VERO BEACH, Fla. - Roger Babson Sutherlin, 76, died May 23, 2000, at his residence after an extended illness.
Born May 3, 1924 in Gates County, N.C., he was the son of Elijah Thomas Sutherlin and Lucille Fowler Sutherlin.
He was married
to Janet A. Sutherlin, who survives. He served with the United States Marines during World War II. He lived in Danville prior to moving to Vero Beach, where he lived for the past ten years. Prior to his retirement, he was an employee of Southern Railroad. He was a member of the Kings Baptist Church in Vero Beach and of American Legion Post 325 in Danville.
In addition to his wife of Vero Beach, he is survived by one son, Jack T. Sutherlin of Evington, Va.; two step-sons, Vernon E. Lovell of Ashburn, Va. and David A. Lovell of Gastonia, N.C.; one brother, Emory L. Sutherlin of Danville; and four grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from Highland Burial Park with the Rev. Freddie Vicks officiating. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 325.

James Bosman
DANVILLE, Va. - James Andrew Bosman, 71, of 348 Wendell Scott Drive died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born June 7, 1928, in Pittsylvania County, he was the son of the late Paul E. Bosman and Mary Ingram, who survives.
He first married
Letitia H. Bosman, who predeceased him, and was later married
to Cora Sawyers Bosman, who survives. He was employed with Dan River Mills for many years and was a T.V. repairman. He was also owner and operator of Bosman's Coach and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Jones Chapel Baptist Church where he served as chairman of the Deacon Board, and was a member of the male chorus and the Usher Board. He was secretary of Murdock Lodge #163, Associate Patron Lydia Chapter #74 Order of the Eastern Star, Bus Ministries, and operated Bosman's Medicaid Transportation Service.
In addition to his wife of the residence and his mother of Danville, survivors include one daughter, Cleatis Swanson of Danville; three sons, Wayne Bosman, Terry Bosman and James L. Bosman, all of Danville; three sisters, Ruth Lea, Velma Ingram and Queen Dailey, all of Danville; and seven grandchildren.
He was also predeceased by one sister, Kathryn Jean Ingram; two brothers, Obie Ingram Jr. and Clyde Orlando Ingram, and his stepfather, Obie Ingram Sr.
A funeral was held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2000, at Jones Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Hayes McConnell officiating. Interment
with military rites followed in Danville Memorial Gardens.
The family received friends at the residence.
