BREWERTON, N.Y. - Jacques A. Rautio, 19, of LeBeau Lane died Saturday, June 17, 2000, at Crouse Irving-Memorial Hospital, Syracuse.
Born in Myrtle Beach, S.C., he was the son of Douglas Rautio and Claudine Williams.
He graduated from P.V. Moore High School and was active in sports and a member of the National Honor Society. He attended Rochester Institute of Technology and Onondaga Community College. He was a sales associate at Littman's Jewelers at Great Northern Mall, Clay, N.Y.
In addition to his mother of Brewerton and father of McGuire AFB, N.J., survivors include a stepfather, Stephen Williams of Brewerton and stepmother, Donna Rautio of McGuire AFB, N.J.; one brother, Mark Stephen Williams of Brewerton; two sisters, Eryn and Aspen Raution of McGuire AFB, N.J.; paternal grandparents, Al and Mary Rautio of Stuart, Va.; maternal grandmother, Estherlene Arrington of Claudville, Va.; step grandparents, Robert and Mary Williams of Brewerton; and step great-grandmother, Blanche Williams of Belleview, Fla.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Central Square Community Church. Interment
will follow in Hillside cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Watson Funeral Home, Central Square, N.Y.
Marjorie Slayton
DANVILLE, Va. - Marjorie H. Slayton, 77, of 600 Samuel Road, died Friday, June 16, 2000, at Stratford Health Care Center.
Born Sept. 27, 1922, she was the daughter of Al Clement Hamlett and Rosa Lee Merricks Hamlett Gravely.
On July 30, 1938, she was married
to Obie Mitchell Slayton, who predeceased her. She lived most of her life in Danville, where she was a housewife and a member of Schoolfield Baptist Church where she served on the church social committee.
Survivors include one daughter, Loretta S. Rimmer of Danville; two sons, Thomas Lee Slayton Sr. of Cascade and Donnie Wray Slayton of Danville; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one sister, Essie G. Hankins.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday from Swicegood Funeral Home with the Rev. David Turbyfill and Dr. John H. LaRue officiating. Interment
will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens.
The family received friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and at other times at the residence.

Theodore Stamps
DANVILLE, Va. - Theodore Landon Stamps, 68, of 854 Piney Forest Road, died Wednesday, June 14, 2000, at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born Jan. 9, 1932, in Caswell County, N.C., he was the son of Ella Stamps.
He was married
to Catherine Stamps, who survives. He was a minister and member of Silver Creek Baptist Church, as well as a former pastor of True Vine Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife of the residence, survivors include four sons, Theodore L. Stamps Jr., Larry Stamps and Wayne Towler, all of Danville, and Andre Stamps of the residence; five daughters, Leevoine Law, Evon Stamps, Clara Gunter, Donna Towler and Sheila Towler, all of Danville; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Silver Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Booker George officiating. Interment
will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the residence.

Dennis Tanner
DANVILLE, Va. - Dennis Jerome Tanner, 35, of 1708 Malimason Road died Wednesday, June 14, 2000, at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born June 24, 1964, in Danville, he was the son of Lula Rebecca Gunn Tanner.
He was a laborer with Nestles.
Survivors include three sons, Dominique Tanner of Danville, Dexter Tanner of Canada and Christopher Davis of Blairs; two daughters, LaKwelia Tanner and Ashley Tanner, both of Danville; four brothers, Herman Tanner of Anderson, S.C., Thomas D. Tanner of Ringgold, Allen D. Tanner of Pittsburgh and Melvin D. Tanner of Blairs; five sisters, Sandra A. Strickland of Richmond, Annie M. Tanner and Nannie L. Coxton, both of Baltimore, Helen Coleman of Blairs and Minnie E. Tanner-Cohen of Killeen, Texas.
A funeral will be held at noon Monday at Kentuck Baptist Church with the Rev. Jesse Fitz officiating. Interment
will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 400 Pritchett Lane, Blairs.

Graham J. Barkley, Sr.
DANVILLE, Va. - Graham J. Barkley, Sr., 74, of 222 Astor Court died June 17, 2000, at his residence after months of declining health.
Born October 18, 1925 in Augusta County, Va., he was the son of the late Frank J. and Nannie Hanger Barkley.
He was married
on October 18, 1947 to Eleanor Willis Barkley, who survives.
He had been a member of Trinity United Methodist Church since 1955. In World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy as a Pharmacist Mate 2/C, Special Augmented Hospital #8 on Okinawa. He was a 1950 graduate of the Medical College of Virginia School of Pharmacy and was the owner/operator of Park Place Pharmacy prior to his retirement from Danville Regional Medical Center. He was a member of the American Legion Post 325 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 647 and a past member of the Virginia Pharmaceutical Association.
In addition to his wife of the residence, survivors include three daughters, Brenda Gaye Barkley, Beverly B. Abbott, and Nanette B. Brown and husband Harry T. Brown of Danville; one son, Graham J. Barkley, Jr. and wife Donna H. Barkley of Durham, N.C.; and three grandchildren Zachary S. Abbott, Katherine M. Barkley, and Graham J. Barkley III.
Other surviving relatives include a brother, Franklin L. Barkley of Suffolk, and three sisters, Marjorie B. Brooks of Stuarts Draft, Va., Rosalie B. Thomas of Staunton, Va., and Ruth B. Hogshead of Front Royal, Va. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Ann B. Hemp.
A funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Levi Stroud and Rev. Linwood Daniel officiating. Interment
will follow in Highland Burial Park with military honors performed by American Legion Post 325 Honor Guard.

Patricia Brown
SOUTH BOSTON, Va. - Patricia Fitzgerald Brown, 47, of 502 Forest Drive died Saturday, June 17, 2000, at her residence.
Born May 31, 1953, in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of Clarence Coleman and Virginia Glass Coleman.
She was first married
to Dwight Fitzgerald, who predeceased her, and then to Malcomb Brown Jr., who survives. She was a graduate of Halifax County High School and Durham Business College. She was employed by Sprint as a customer service supervisor. She was a member of Elkhorn Baptist Church where she served on the pastor's aide committee, the food committee, and was a member of the senior choir and the gospel chorus. She was also a member of the Halifax Improvement Council.
In addition to her husband of the residence, survivors include one daughter, Crystal Denise Fitzgerald of the residence; two stepdaughters, Shayla D. Brown and Crystal Nichole Brown, both of the residence; one stepson, Malcomb Brown III of the residence; five brothers, Joel Lee Coleman and Paul Edward Coleman, both of Java, Lawrence Coleman of San Antonio, Bradford A. Coleman of Danville and Gregory Coleman of Woodbridge; two sisters, Linda C. Stephens of Blairs and Deloris C. Davis of Gladys.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Elkhorn Baptist Church with Dr. C. Lewis Motley officiating. Interment
will follow in the Coleman family cemetery.

Calvin Gauldin
DANVILLE, Va. - Calvin Gauldin, 49, of 718 Holland Road died Saturday, June 17, 2000, at Danville Regional Medical Center after six months of declining health.
Born May 14, 1951, in Danville, he was the son of Lyod Jefferson Gauldin and Mary Revis Gauldin.
On August 2, 1970, he was married
to Velma Sue Gauldin, who survives. He lived his entire life in Danville and had been employed as a fixer for Dan River Inc.
In addition to his wife of the residence, survivors include two sons, Robert W. Gauldin of the residence and Steven D. Gauldin of Sutherlin; one daughter, Kristie G. Bailey of Sutherlin; two brothers, Lloyd Irvin Gauldin of Keeling and Bob Gauldin of Sutherlin; five sisters, Peggy Davis of Danville, and Katie Nunn, Joan Wyatt, Shirley G. Nunn, and Mary L. Gauldin, all of Ringgold; one grandson and one step granddaughter.
A private funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hylton Lawrence officiating.

Donald Graham
HUTCHINSON, Kan. - Donald L. Graham, 73, died Saturday, June 17, 2000, at Golden Plains Health Care Center.
Born Dec. 6, 1926, in Carter, Okla., he was the son of Hardy K. Graham and Zona Hyder Graham.
On April 14, 1949, he was married
to Dorothy Bell, who survives. He was a longtime Hutchinson resident and was employed as a lead man at Cargill Salt Company, retiring in 1992. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Union Chemical Workers Local #188.
In addition to his wife, survivors include four sons, Larry of Hutchinson, Danny and Scott, both of Sand Springs, Okla., and Jerry of Ringgold, Va.; one daughter, Deanna Graham Harbold of Mesa, Ariz.; one foster son, Jesse Reed of Hutchinson; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Roy Elmo Graham, Gerald Graham, and H.K. Jr. Graham.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Chris Boaz officiating. Interment
will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.
Madison Green
DANVILLE, Va. - Madison Lee Green, 60, of 513 Oxford Place died Friday, June 16, 2000, at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born Jan. 11, 1940, in Baltimore, he was the son of John Green and Lillian Madison Green.
He was married
to Lena Green, who survives. He was employed by Virginia Power Company as a safety coordinator.
In addition to his wife, survivors include one son, Dainon Green of Danville, and one brother, Charles Green of Cumberland, Md.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Vance Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Herbert Dickerson officiating.
A service also will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Ordinary, Va. Interment
will follow in Gloucester, Va.

Woodrow Kelly
DANVILLE, Va. - Woodrow John Kelly, 81, of 1485 Myrtle Ave., Apt. 2, died Saturday, June 17, 2000, in Danville Regional Medical Center after 18 months of declining health and a six-day stay in the hospital.
Born Feb. 16, 1919, in Bedford County, he was the son of William Franklin Kelly and Minnie Gerushi Gamble Kelly.
On Dec. 8, 1970, he was married
to Mabel Ann Motley Kelly, who survives. He lived most of his life in Danvville and Chatham and was of the Baptist faith. He was retired from Laramore Construction Company where he was a truck driver for 41 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He participated in the D-Day invasion of Normandy as a member of the Engineer Division.
In addition to his wife of the residence, survivors include a son, Steven Woodrow Kelly of Richmond; one daughter, Debbie K. Seay of Richmond; two brothers, A.T. Kelly of Greensboro, N.C. and G.W. Kelly of Fayetteville, N.C.; three sisters, Virginia K. Burnette of Roanoke, Mary Jane K. Bunn of Nashville, N.C., and Nancy K. Marshall of Danville, and four grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Danville Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Carroll E. Yates Sr. officiating. Military honors will be performed by American Legion Post 1097.
The family will receive friends at the residence and at the residence of his sister, Nancy K. Marshall, 154 Mountain Hill Road, Danville.
